How to treat Emetophobia in three stages! Fear of throwing up!

Emetophobia is a phobia that causes overwhelming, intense anxiety pertaining to vomiting. With this intense anxiety, individuals need to know what they can do to relieve symptoms and the fear. This is what you are going to learn!
I mention in the video that emetophobia is a subset of OCD. Technically, Emetophobia is often diagnosed as a Specific Phobia. However, because the most prominent symptoms often meet the criteria for obsessive-compulsive disorder, OCD may be the more appropriate diagnosis.

This is an amazing video! I developed Emetophobia in elementary school - I was about 5 or 6 years old. I experienced crippling panic attacks because I was TERRIFIED of throwing up. The word “throw up” was a trigger. It wasn’t until I turned 24 that I accidentally threw up and that helped with my recovery. I also removed the POWER that I was giving to my fear. So Nathan is right. It was SO hard, but I realized it wasn’t “as bad as I thought”

@@borntoslay3996 Ok i'm glad you getting educated about this but I just wanna say a few things. I have Emetophobia and the things that make me scared about vomiting is the taste, the feeling of it coming up my throat, the burning feeling in my throat and there are many other reasons. I've had MANY panic attacks and whenever i have one it makes me feel nauseous so when you mentioned that having a panic attack is worse then throwing up its really not. Even if vomiting is healthy its really disgusting and scary for us and when we have panic attacks about vomiting we don't think about the positives and its really hard to think positive when having a panic attack and Please do not say " its all in your head" cause that is quite rude and it doesn't make any of us feel better. I get that you are trying to help but please don't go out of your way and say things like "...This worked for me on other things so try it" because it is EXTREMELY hard for us to just forget about the whole thing and just vomit and be like " OMG THAT WASN'T THAT BAD" we need time and practice to actually be ready to vomit.

Have you guys ever thought of actually vomiting?? I mean I got sick back in March, I almost threw up but I didn't bc nothing came out and that's what triggered my phobia bc I couldn't breathe for a few seconds after the dry heaving and now 4 months have gone by, I had to quit my job bc I just couldn't control it, I was so scared. But now I feel like I can't take it anymore. I'm tired of holding it in. Which is why I feel like maybe it's best to just vomit whatever it takes in order to get rid of that fear once and for all.

I have this and it’s a horrible fear that ruins your life. I struggle when I go on trips because if I’m in a small bus, car, an airplane, or anything like that I automatically think that someone might throw up and I’m trapped. I cried before I went on a retreat with my school because I knew we were going to be on a bus for hours and that thought freaked me out for weeks before (It turned out to be fine during the ride). I listen to music to help calm me down a lot which distracts me a little but if someone says their stomach hurts, they feel nauseous or they’re gonna throw up the day is officially ruined and I’m scared for that whole day and never wanna see that person again. I just wish I could be done with it because it really does ruin your life, people think your joking but it’s not a joke. Edit: when I do throw up or if I think I am going to I’m also scared it’ll come out all over me and not into the place it should go like a bowl, toilet, or trashcan but the worse part is probably the sound and watching it come out if it’s a lot or looks disgusting(since sometimes it doesn’t look that bad)

There was ONE time I was on the phone with my dad, I knew I had food poisoning and I KNEW it was gunna happen. He said something that stuck with me in the moment and I was able to stop panicking, and get sick with no issue. He said “the worst part, is right now.” And he was right. The worst part is the actual nausea. After getting sick, I always felt better. I lived without my phobia for a solid few years, and after going through a bunch of unrelated trauma it unfortunately came back. But I’m wanting to get help because I hate how much this has been running my life. I practically live in the bathtub and I have a prescription for anti nausea meds and they don’t always work because my anxiety gets the best of me. I want to get over this fear, and I want to remember that the worst part is right now.

I've struggled with Anxiety and Emethophobia for as long as I can remember. There were times I stopped eating because I was so scared of throwing up. Which, of course made things worse, as *nausea* can be linked back to *hunger* The amount of opportunities I've missed because of this phobia is insane. I've spent countless hours leaning into a bucket or a bag, waiting to throw up. I've missed school because of it. I've hidden away from friends and family because of it. I used to have panic attacks in the bathroom in school almost everyday, because I was so worried about getting sick. I constantly asked my parents if I was pale on my face (people can sometimes go pale when they're about to throw up) and I've become obsessed with staying clean when it comes to germs and ill people. I'm trying to get over this phobia, using baby steps. Throwing up isn't pleasant, everyone knows that. Nobody likes throwing up. And I can live with not liking it. But I want to be able to do it without having a panic attack and I want to be able to live my life. I'm definitely going to try some of these tricks from the video! Some of my own tips and tricks: -*chewing gum* Chewing gum can help ground you and can help you concentrate and distract you from panicking. Peppermint is also good for stomach aches and nausea. (Try not to chew *too much* gum, it can sometimes cause acid reflux, it's not that big of a deal, but it can be annoying and uncomfortable, it's happened to me before, it doesn't happen to everyone, but incase, this is just a quick heads up) -*Music/books/watching KZread* Doing something that doesn't take much effort, like reading a book or sitting down and watching your favourite KZread channel can also help calm you down. Listening to a calming song may also help. A book I recommend (for younger people) *Guts* (a comic about a girl struggling with emethophobia) Another book I recommend is *Cure Your Emethophobia And Thrive* it's an eight week program specializing in overcoming Emethophobia! -*deep breathing/meditation* I know everyone tells you to do this. Breathe, it'll help. But it does! Put your feet on the ground, level yourself and take in a deep breath. Everything will be okay. You'll be okay. Just breathe in and out. In and out. -*Eating something/having something to drink* Sometimes being hungry or a bit dehydrated can make you feel nauseous or unwell. Drink some water, peppermint or ginger tea. Eat some crackers or dried dates. It may help. Try to eat every few hours or so and keep drinking water/tea. -*Talk to someone* Worrying or overthinking may cause some anxiety or upset tummies. Talk to someone. Ring some you trust. Talk to yourself even. If theres something bothering you, say it out loud, even to yourself. Write it down also. Going to see a therapist may also help you manage stress, worry or anxiety. Talk about your emethophobia. If anyone has anymore tips, or questions, just ask! It may sound cliche, but we'll all get through this! 💕

@@racheln5474 I completely understand how you feel I'm still working on getting over my emethophobia, it's tough! Going to see a therapist could really help. They'll give you proper breathing techniques and tips that can help you calm down. *Cure Your Emethophobia And Thrive* is a book by *Rob Kelly* it specializes in overcoming this phobia. It's an 8 week program and it gives you exercises, tips in becoming more confident, controlling your thoughts, etc. I started the program, I haven't finished it yet, I stopped doing it for a few months, but I'm hoping to get back to it again, while I was doing the program however, it really helped, so I highly recommend the book. You can order it online. If you search up Rob Kelly's website (www.Emetophobia.co.uk) you can get therapy sessions, I think. (I'm not 100% sure about the therapy sessions, but I know there's more info on Emethophobia on the website) If you have anymore questions, don't be afraid to ask 😊 Here to help anyone!

I have really bad emetophobia and it sucks. Everyone’s like “oh yeah I hate being sick too” but they don’t get it. Every time someone says they feel sick or even talks about being sick I start shaking and I can’t listen to the conversation. The other day I was watching a movie and I wasn’t prepared for a scene where a character throws up and I had to cover my ears and eyes and run upstairs. I can’t go on rides or boats. I also get nervous on planes. It really sucks but I hope someday I’ll get through it. Thanks for the video!

This is for those who are scared of vomiting themselves: I actually told my psychologist, but it wasn't the issue why i was there. (Main issue was anxiety) So this isn't perfect. Some of you could maybe also have anxiety which would also explain fear when nauseous. Anxiety is being scared of something you don't know how could end. (Feeling bad, not sure if you will vomit, how bad is it gonna be, what kind of feeling, what kind of monstrosity will you even vomit...) But that's just my theory, back to the psychologist.✨ He told me to distract myself. If you are gonna panic, you are ONLY gonna think about the BAD stuff. That you WILL vomit. But that should not be happening here. The best solution he gave was to talk to someone and distract yourself from the fact you feel bad (Text, call or in person). I mean it does sound kind of good. But who the heck would want to talk to me when there's a chance they will see some nasty stuff? 😂 But yeah that's all i got. If anyone has some tips i think you should share.💗 It's shame that we have to be scared of something so natural and harmless. >:c But we are gonna beat its ass one day. Just we wait and become less afraid of such worthless things. 💪

Avoiding almost every social event. I wasn’t only terrified of throwing up myself, but also terrified when others said they were not feeling well. I’d avoid them for weeks sometimes and became really, really mad at them for feeling sick. Even though I knew they couldn’t do anything about it. I’ve seen many therapists but they couldn’t do anything about it. Currently I only get scared when I feel nauseous or if somebody else is really sick. I hope I get truly over this sometime

Please make another video on treating emetophobia. I have struggled with this my whole life and watching your video made me feel a little spark of hope for the first time in 21 years. The way you spoke so casually about it and said "am I going to throw up, I guess we will see" was a very interesting perspective. Of course it is easier said than done but it's a good first step and is a lot more manageable than exposure therapy at the moment. I think reframing thoughts is a great place to start right now. I’ve partially gotten over it thanks to my wife and kids. I couldn’t even watch other people get sick until they came along. Now I clean up after them, hold hair back, stand by and provide comfort when they’re doing it, etc. But I’ve yet to get over the fear of it happening to me. As of this comment, it’s been 32 years since I last threw up. When I feel nauseous, I do everything I possibly can go avoid throwing up. More often than not, I get extremely anxious. I don’t think I’ll overcome this completely until it happens again.

I'm currently going through my third week of exposure therapy. This is something I was hugely opposed to until my anorexia (caused by the phobia) was out of control and affecting how I functioned in social settings. I felt like I was losing my mind because I didn't know how to calm down or not feel anxious every day. Now that I've been doing exposure therapy, I can see some improvements on changing my thinking style but I'm still pretty early in the game to have any significant change in my actual fear of it. However, I have seen multiple movie vomit scenes and can admit that I no longer have to close my eyes or block my ears or leave the room like when I began. I also would like to have a family in the next couple of years and I wanted to get a handle on this so I can handle pregnancy or children getting sick. The ironic thing is I'm nearly 30 and I haven't vomited in 17 years. I'm just not a puker, yet I've held onto the fear. One thing I learned is that it's not the phobia that causes the anxiety, but the anxiety causes the phobia. It's about needing to be in control of my body and environment. That simple phrase has changed my perspective a lot this week. Hope this helps!

I’m 21 and have struggled with this since at least 12 or 13 (that I can remember) but didn’t have a word for it til almost 2 years ago.. one of the things that I think has made it the hardest to get over this is because since I was little I’ve struggled with digestive issues (had acid reflux since I was like 4 and have had IBS for many years, both of which cause me to be nauseous a lot of the time). And whenever the nausea is pretty bad, I get full blown anxiety attacks that in turn just make the nausea worse.. it has become very debilitating. It’s so bad to the point where part of me doesn’t ever want to have children because I don’t think I could handle the morning sickness and also the thought of having to care for a child if they are sick.. so I’m sitting here looking for resources to help me conquer my phobia or at least calm it down as much as I can so that I can function

I developed emetophobia in my 20's. I caught some kind of stomach bug, and I vomited so badly that I couldn't restart my breathing, then I passed out. Ever since then I became obsessed about not vomiting again. I always have a stash of anti-emetics, read everything there is to read about not becoming nauseous - you know the drill. It's gotten less severe over the years, but it's still there. I sympathise with all of my fellow sufferers. It's a tough one.

Honestly, except for the time last year I got food poisoning, I'm pretty confident in my ability to keep my food down. I mostly have the paranoia over others being sick. I was recently in the car with someone who offhandedly mentioned their nausea and I blasted music through my earbuds while looking out the back window the entire ride (nothing happened). I feel really bad actually, because I want to help whoever it is who is sick, but every nerve in my body screams at me to get the hell away from them.

Thank you for making this video! I wonder if (at least for me) it is more about the loss of control instead of actually throwing up. I feel like my emetophobia comes from the fact that each time I've thrown up I have felt an extreme loss of control. I also have anxiety- so I feel like this loss of feeling "in control" attached itself to throwing up. Now when I control what I eat, what I won't eat, etc. it's almost like a false sense of control that I have/feel. I want to be okay with not having any control and I don't want to feel like I have to control things or situations in life to feel safe. It is comforting to know that others feel exactly the same way and that they have been able to overcome this. It's a daily battle and I try every single day. Some days are good and some days are not so good but I have learned to champion the days that are good, Best of luck to everyone suffering from this.

It doesn’t really help but the feeling of being nauseous is so horrible. I have had this phobia since I was little but was able to function. I remember seeing kids throwing up and being freaked out so much that I would wet my pants. Now I have gotten to the point where I think about the possibility of throwing up all the time to where I eat a lot of bland foods, and compulsively wash my hands. Also afraid of getting pregnant because of the morning sickness (even though I want children) and the fact that my child will probably catch a stomach bug. Also super afraid of food poisoning, so sometimes I will avoid restaurants. I constantly ask my husband how long X food has been sitting out for or how long it has been sitting in the fridge. I think this has really intensified these past couple of months because I actually have been dealing with some stomach issues, but now that I have basically recovered I am left with this phobia that has really had a negative effect on how I live my life. Really need to go see a therapist. Also please pray for me. I will pray for those of you who are also struggling with this. 🙏🏻

This video helped me a lot, I develop this fear when I was 6 years old. I threw up at home and I just got traumatized by it. I ate Doritos and threw up, never ate it again and something that’s taste similar too it. I’m 11 and I still suffer from this fear. Sometimes I think I would rather die then throw up. If I see someone throw up, I would get panic attacks, anxiety and even pass out. For example: “oh she has a stomachache, she will probably throw up”. “Oh he threw up last week, don’t want to get near him”. You were right about my “safe foods”. I been losing a lot of weight because I haven’t eating many things. Also with medicine, I eat this medicine almost everyday in the past 2 months bc it would “help me not vomit”. I realized I had to stop, so I did. This fear has changed my life, so much. I wonder how different my life would be without this fear. I know I will come over this fear when I get older but right now I’m still suffering from it. Thank you for this video 😊

This phobia for me is connected to past abuse and trauma. You may not realize that you are associating throwing up with something else and healing the trauma will also heal the phobia. Consider it for yourself if you have other subtle problems in your life such as OCD, general anxiety, triggers of things that make you anxious etc. Use those other symptoms along with this to guide you towards a trauma that you may OR EVEN MAY NOT remember. I hope this comment can help someone, I’ve had this phobia my whole life essentially and am just now at 29 realizing it’s connected to CSA trauma.

It's honestly really hard to have fears like this. My father would ask me why I was crying when someone throws up. He would ask me why I'm shaking and covering my ears so I don't hear it. I've tried many times to explain to him that I'm really afraid and he always got mad at me. He would tell me to just get over it. Til this day, I'm still severely afraid of vomit. I have full on panic attacks. There were times where kids in my classroom had to throw and and I got up and walked straight out of my class and didn't come back til the next day. I really want to cure this. I feel bad when I can't help sick people around me. I run away in fear. And I want that to end.

Hey, just wanting to let you know it gets better. We are all in this together!! I also still have strong Emetophobia but over the years it has gotten better. I have been in a similar position like 6 years ago when I wouldn't eat out of fear and was very underweight. I could barely talk about the topic and everything that was mentioning it triggered me. I was constantly missing school and was sent to a clinic which actually didn't help my phobia at all. I constantly took meds etc etc. It's been a harsh way but I have slowly learned to gain back control over many things in my life. I finished school, I went on vacations with my classmates despite my fear. I can now talk about it, I can see people throwing up in videogames and movies. And I now study. There is still a very long way to go and god, I'm scared of the day I will throw up, but I'm sure I'll be fine. And so will you. Remember that every small step is meaningful and while it might take time to heal and learn to let go of this fear, remember that forward is forward! I'm proud of you! Kindly, a stranger on the internet 🙏❤

It actually feels so good to know that other people have this fear. My parents always get annoyed or they sigh whenever I feel a little sick (when I’m not really sick my fear of throwing up makes me feel nauseous). I got this fear last year and only realized that it was such a severe fear when I got Covid a few months ago and came close to throwing up. When I felt super nauseous, my heart started to beat so fast that I felt like I would have a panic attack. Whenever I feel really nauseated, my legs and arms start to quiver and shake in fear. I honestly have led myself to think that “if I throw up, I will die”. Even just thinking about it can make me feel nauseous. I’ve started to just make my own ways to cope and mitigate the fear by thinking about different things if I feel nauseous.

I have emetophobia and it’s debilitating. I don’t eat much at all and when I do eat, I always think “what if I get sick later?” I feel bloated sometimes and have heart burn. I analyze how I feel every moment of every day. Sometimes I won’t think about it, then I realize I’m not thinking about about... and guess what happens? I start thinking about it. Lately I’ve been feeling like there’s something slow moving up my throat or stuck in my throat, I try to clear my throat often, sometime I feel like I have a frog in my throat and I get super afraid.. like to the point I have the nervous poops.🤦🏾‍♂️ I hate hate hate this feeling. For me it started out just panicking or feeling sad when someone would throw up. One day I smoked pot for the first time and almost threw up and I think thats what I had my first anxiety attack. My chest felt super heavy out of no where, my limbs felt heavy, I got super hot and I tasted a gross taste in my mouth. I cried so hard and took off running... I just ran outside, I never actually threw up. Once I calmed down, my symptoms went away. Since then I’ve never wanted to feel that feeling again. I wake up thinking about throwing up and go to sleep thinking about it as well. Just typing this my neck muscles are beginning to feel tight. This is no way to live I know, I hate it.

My friend has this and it's really bad! When I was younger every year I usually had about one day of school off where I felt sick but never actually was. Within the last year it got bad. I started to make myself feel ill because I worried so much about being ill and then I got into this viscous cycle. I told my friend about this and she said that's how it started off for her but I never wanted to admit to something I didn't know I had. About a year ago my brother was sick but it was just from having a headache so nothing contagious but I freaked out and my parents said they actually got worried. The next day it was better and I went out for lunch with my dad but half way through my sandwich thoughts in my head made me feel ill and I couldn't finish it. I felt better after a few days. Then a few weeks later I was watching a movie in bed and then I thought about feeling ill and I started shivering so much which really worried me and I told my mum about it the next morning and she said I was just being silly. The same feeling happened on holiday one night. Then it all went away for about 6 months and I never thought about it. Recently it actually came back when I was out with my nanny and grandad for lunch and we were in a clothes shop and I felt so ill. I didn't want to tell them but I told them I wanted to go home and when we waited at the bus stop I felt totally fine, the feeling immediately went away. So I know this is just in my head. Since then (February) I have felt ill pretty much every day and it has got to a point where I'm actually afraid to eat especially with people. I'm really starting to worry now and I just want my usual happy self back! I always used to be hungry and I loved all food and now I am becoming really picky and the thought of food usually makes me feel worse. I just want this over with! My mum just tells me it's anxiety which a lot of people get. But I need to get rid of this now! I am 16 and I feel like if it doesn't go soon I will ruin my life!

A few years after my Emetophobia started I was diagnosed with contamination OCD and eventually my eating problems transformed into Anorexia. I was hospitalised multiple times and fed by NG tube. I’m now trying my best to recover from my Eating Disorder and overcome Emetophobia. I’m not in therapy at the moment due to Covid lockdown so am hoping to do my best at attacking this alone. I hate the feeling of being nauseous but I feel as if I am so used to it. I always get nausea before my menstrual cycle, so I have that anxiety that I know I will feel sick. I’m trying to embrace it, and these videos really help, thank you !

Hey Amelia my name is Allie and I think this is like the 3rd time I've commented on here but I really wanted to share my story with you. When I was a young teen and got my period I noticed a trend of feeling scared for unknown reasons and I didn't understand that it was anxiety and it only happened right before my period each month. Once I realized it was definitely happening due to my monthly cycle I talked to my mom who also experienced this when she was a teen so she always told me to "NEVER MAKE AN IMPORTANT LIFE DECISION DURING PMS"!🤷‍♀️ I guess some woman get called B*tchy and we just feel scared about it...lol! 😆 I used to say "why can't I just get B*tchy like everyone else?" 🤣 Have you gotten any help or learned deep breathing techniques to help calm anxious nervous? I wish I did back then but I took the easy way out and took a pill which was the first thing my doctor recommended. They put me on antidepressant/anti-anxiety pill (zoloft) I think which helped but again I could have been taught deep breathing too. Later on they changed my Rx to an anti-anxiety pill that I would take as needed which is another option. I hope you talk to a doctor and don't try to live life with such a terrible thing like anxiety which can lead to panic attacks. Btw...the very best solution in the end was prayer and trust in God but man did I fight hard to not believe! I will keep you in my prayers and please reach out anytime! 😘🙏

story time!! I’ve struggled with emetophobia for a while now, it has gotten extreme very recently. I was spending the night at my boyfriends house and in the middle of the night I woke up. he was sitting up in bed and looked like he was about to throw up. I quickly got out of bed and ran to the corner and plugged my ears and he threw up all over the bed. after this happened I couldn’t stop shaking and I felt so weak. I went back to his house this past weekend and when I tried to go to sleep the first night I was so paranoid that he would throw up again that I stayed up the entire night. my heart would race at every single move he would make throughout the night. the next night the same exact thing happened. I didn’t get a wink of sleep and I ended up driving an hour and a half home at 4:30 am because I just had to sleep in my own bed, and not be so paranoid of the slight chance he would throw up.

I have dealt with the exact same thing. I used to have to share a room with my sister. She was a toddler so she didn't know how to tell people she was sick. One night I woke up to her throwing up. I covered my ears told my dad and started crying and shaking. She was fine the next day but I had trouble sleeping thinking she was going to vomit again. I couldn't sleep. Every movement she'd make woke me up from my sleep. Even if it was the slightest movement. It stood like that for a long time til I got my own room. I'm glad I'm not alone. I used to get made fun of for this.

I agree with everyone that said they can’t overcome it the taste, feeling, everything about it is just so bad. Back in my day, when I was in school someone puked right in front of me. I had a breakdown and had to get sent home because I almost had a heart attack. It’s that bad. I know it’s something normal our body’s do and it might seem exaggerated but when I say I have a fear of puke I mean it. Thank you for your hard work making this video! :)

I’ve had an emetophobia since I could first remember, it got better for a while but covid and isolation and the process of getting sober made it spiral, this video made me uncomfortable but in the good way, thank you for sharing! It’s gonna take a while but I will get over it and recover. I would love to see the video going more in depth in the recovery process

Emetophobia... it’s rules my life. It’s gotten worse over the years bc I get car sick and it’s terrible. I always start to shake, roll the window down, and hold it in until it goes away🤧. Idk what’s wrong with me on this part but every time I hear someone throw up, I cry. Thanks for the video and tips. I really appreciate it🙏🏽 I also deal with Anxiety & sometimes OCD so everything about that just gives me headaches and makes me nervous

And to all the comments, I feel all of you! When I had strep throat I wouldn't eat much because I felt as if I would vomit if I did. I never did, but it's hard to control the feeling. I recently developed a fear of food poisoning. I never had it before and we came home one night after eating dinner and when it was bedtime my stomach started hurting and I was scared. This was about two weeks ago, and since then I always check my chicken but I have never done that before in my life. I always get suspicious about my chicken now. My mom reassures me its fine and I know its fine but I still don't believe her sometimes. I am sorry if I'm commenting a lot but I want to help people that struggle with the same thing I struggle with.

I started exposure therapy by using an app called Jitters. With that, alongside CBT and anti anxiety medication, I’ve seen some improvements. I’ve located my avoidance tendencies and pushed myself to engage in those situations. This video is really great; overcoming the initial fear of seeking treatment is difficult but it is extremely worth it. It takes practice and patience as well. I’ve definitely struggled more during periods of high anxiety (exams, etc). I want to have children and right now I’m blocking myself from exploring that because of my phobia. I’m tired of it controlling my life.

I have Emetophobia, but it’s a bit different for me. I’m not scared of myself throwing up when I’m alone. But whenever I’m in a public space, I get anxious that I might do it. However, the worst part of my phobia is when I see someone else doing it. Then, in a second I hear noise in my ears and I start to shiver. I get extremely uncomfortable in a moment and I start to feel like I’m gonna throw up too. I hate this phobia because it affects my life a lot. I kinda got used to it and I’m no longer that scared of using public transport or going to restaurants, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to attend any party with alcohol 😔 Because of this, my social life is limited to minimum and I don’t have any friends

Sorry to hear this. Your whole comment bout seeing or hearing other people is so familiar and apparently the reason is because instinctively when we see or hear any other human do it is cos its a caveman thing. Like we're scared we're poisoned or something. So grim though. Sorry to hear you've no friends, there are so many people out here for you x

I have had emetophobia since childhood. I don’t easily vomit or get stomach bug, its been about 15 years since I’ve vomited sober (when I’m drunk, it’s not that bad for me). But I am afraid of others throwing up!! So for me, it’s a littlebit different. I find it extremely hard to be in plane or bus or car or something where there is many people and you can’t really leave if someone starts to vomit. I’m always scared when I take care of my godson (3 year old) that he is going to vomit and I have to clean it. I wont be able to do it. I have been in situations in my workplace where someone has vomited and I just run away as fast as I can. When i go to movies, I need to sit where no one is behind me so they can not vomit over me. This is really exhausting! I try my best to still go on bus, movies etc but I just can not seem to beat my fear. But I’m still trying 🙌🏻
