The time I experienced hairfall, I did all the following to successfully reduce it - .. Make a habit of doing massage for your scalp into your routine. .. Do not use very hot water when washing your hair. .. Shield your hair from excessive sweat. .. Use a dual tooth neem wood comb to brush out wet hair. .. Cut down on your sugar and processed food consumption. .. Use gentle hairfall control shampoo and hair oil like littleeextra cocconion. .. Maintain a positive mindset for overall well being.

One very helpful thing: no matter what shampoo you use, always rinse very well. VERY WELL. Soap and/or detergent residue can irritate the skin. Also, make sure you don't let hair stay damp too long, especially the nape of the neck where longer hair might sit on top and keep moisture there. Tie hair back and up when exercising and sweating, that's moisture, too. Good luck, everyone!

You guys have a ton of options when it comes to lighting and sound, but always remember to keep light in front of you, not above or behind you’ll look weird and washed out! I am actually happy you both addressed this! I have never tried Nizoral before so I will look into that one. Head and Shoulders makes my scalp bleed and get scabs so I can't mess with that stuff. If those don't work then I will be going to see a dermatologist. My skin is super sensitive so I honestly should anyways. I even had a ridiculous react all over my body to lavender >.> LAVENDAR of all things?!?! It was a terrible situation there. When I say everywhere I bought wipes, deodorant, body soap and lotion with lavender in it..... so you can only imagine how I looked 🤣. Anyways, yall have been extremely helpful with plenty of things so far for me. It is hard to know what to do when companies make you believe things and pandemic affecting when you can get in to see specialists. I thank you a bunch!!

SheaMoisture has an African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Deep Cleansing line W/ Tea Tree oil and Willow Bark extract which might be a good alternative for this Shampoos recommend in the video. I told my cousin to use the line when she was suffering from dandruff and it seemed to help. Willow bark extract works as the BHA or salicylic acid and tea tree helps with the soothing and is an anti-fungal agent.

This is anecdotal, but it happened to me, and it may be useful to someone else. I experienced a horrific psoriasis flare that seemingly came out of nowhere. It was like having burns all over my body. I had been plagued by nummular eczema for over 30 years but never anything compared to this. My dermatologist prescribed heavy duty steroid ointments and diluted bleach baths. Those worked pretty well and at least diminished the acute symptoms by 85 to 90 percent, but left me with a revolting case of dandruff. The eczema was not affected. I tried all the commercial shampoos to no avail. Then a couple of months later I had another flare that was just as severe. We went through the same routine and got the flare under control again, but the dandruff was even worse. Then I read somewhere that processed meat aggravates psoriasis. I eat keto, and at the time I would say I ate bacon almost every day. I was also a big fan of prosciutto. Desperate to avoid another flare, I cut all processed meat out of my diet, and the psoriasis began to clear, and over the next three months vanished completely. Interestingly, so did the nummular 11:01 eczema. But the dandruff was still there. Then I saw a KZread video by Eric Berg claiming an herbal method that would dramatically clear dandruff in a week to ten days. By now I was willing to stand on my head for a week if it would get rid of the dandruff. The remedy was very simple, but you have to endure oily hair (in my case, hidden under a bandanna) for a week. All I did was buy a jar of oregano oil capsules and a bottle of flaxseed oil and break one capsule into a tablespoon of flaxseed oil and rub it on my scalp every morning and leave it on all day. I washed it out every night and reapplied in the morning. That schedule worked for me as I’m retired, but I’m sure you could apply the oil after getting home from work and leave it on all night. I was not able to finish the weeklong protocol due to a medical emergency in my immediate family, but four days took care of it. At the end of the treatment only a tiny bit of flaking remained near my right ear, and it eventually went away. It’s been over a year now and I have not had even a hint of psoriasis, eczema, or dandruff. I also do not eat processed meats. I do continue to eat unprocessed meats, eggs, dairy, and even sugar with no ill effects to my skin or scalp. I realize this is an anecdotal experience, but my overall point is be open minded. Don’t assume that only pharmaceutical and commercial remedies will solve your issues. Look at your diet and investigate herbal remedies too. My dermatologist was thrilled that I figured out that processed meat brought on my psoriasis, but all I got in response to my dandruff cure was a stare as if I had told her I don’t believe in western medicine, which is not the case.

I can vouch for the nizoral shampoo! Make sure you get the one with 1% ketoconazole ingredient. I cleared up all my scalp problems after two uses. I had terrible dandruff, dermatitis that was not only on my scalp but coming down into my face, and a couple of new psoriasis spots on my hairline on my neck. I had had the dandruff for years to the point where head and shoulders no longer made a difference, but the psoriasis was my tipping point. The shampoo took care of the fungi that can cause dandruff which is why it worked so well.

Depending on the area, first clean the scalp and have that yeast less of home to live in as the buildup can spread below. My go to routine is very simple and afforable and leaves me with compliments. At night apply Aloe vera face and hair once cleaned properly, in the morning cerave sunscreen with moisturizing spf30, filtered water reverse osmosis. CeraVe moisturizing cream is good for your body but dont recommend it for face. So basically 2 products Suncreen and moisturizer, if you want antiaging, add some rosehip extract and you got it. This skincare is good for those with dry skins. depending on skin swap CeraVe product for oily faces.

I'm so upset. In Portugal I paid a private appointment with a dermatologist regarding dandruff just for him to tell me there was nothing I could do, he literally told me that if i didn't want the flakes in my clothes i would just have to wash by hair everyday. This was like 4 years ago, maximum, it was probably even less than that. Then I moved to the UK and i got even worse to a point that it was suoer self conscious and itchy. I bought a over the counter medicated shampoo that at least for now is doing me wonders. And now I discover this channel and find out there's SO MANY ways to try and solve this issues.

I double cleansed my scalp because I had a lot of product build up and when I got out the shower to style my curls I noticed flakes on my roots/hair strands/comb. I itch my scalp here and there. Could it be product build up? Dandruff from oily scalp or dry scalp from double cleansing 😣 how do I know.

    1. Eliminate the causes of dry, irritating hair, and fungi breeding ground (AC conditioning, shower too much, room temperature causing drying, products that cause irritation 2. Clean the sebum (flaky skin) off with filtered soft water/shower filter as hard water is rough only irritates the skin. 3. Once sebum is removed, use an antibacterial antifungal of choice. I use Aloe vera plant gel, I store plant gel in my fridge, and it treats the yeast. If you want more strength, mix in manuka honey, or just buy Wild Naturals Ezcema shampoo and conditioner (aloe vera main ingredient with manuka honey and orange oil.) 4. Make a routine to change filter for the shower or clean the filtered water pitcher you use. For face I just put Aloe vera after I removed sebum and goes directly on my skin Thats my routine, I had a flare up last month and this routine was the cure to the madness. Also made changes to my diet that reduces inflammation and promotes good bacteria. Some honorable mentions for supplements: Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil as it increases vitamin D A and omega 3 which are crucial for hair skin and nails.

Other things to help dandruff that maybe not from yeast. Use a shampoo with less alcohols in, use a scalp massager or use apple cider vinegar to rinse ( scalp likes ph of 3.5 but tap water is ph 7-8 ).

Nizoral gave me red bumps on my scalp, made it worse. I think it may be due to the fact that I realized I do not have dandruff but dry scalp and maybe that was too harsh for my scalp. Head & Shoulders and Selsun Blue didn't have an affect on my hair. Going to try Neutrogena T-Sal

Hi Dr. Shah, I actually found you on Tiktok and I would like to thank you so much for the recommending the Neutrogena salicylic acid cleanser. It really helped with my oily, pimple skin. But I'm suffering from severe dandruff that is causing hair fall (I'm only 25) 😭😭😭. I've tried Head & shoulders, it didn't work. I've tried selsum blue but 1. It smelled horrendous on me 2. It made my skin even more itchy and irritated but it helped with the flakes. I had to go to a professional haircare treatment centre and it definitely helped. I saw amazing results after 3 months but I've stopped the sessions due to covid and the price. In your opinion, what would you recommend me to do.

How often do you recommend using Nizoral + T/Sal? I normally wash my hair every other day. Don’t have dandruff but I do get some flaking very often. I’ve tried the T/Sal before and works wonderfully but I only use like once a week. Now that you suggested using these two combined I want to try it but I do have my hair bleached so I’m very careful with what shampoo I use since I don’t want to damage my hair anymore. Please advise.

Washing your hair every other day honestly, is not a safe decision. Your scalp keeps itself clean for a good time so washing every alternate day strips off your natural oils.

Seborrheic dermatitis affecting your scalp aka dandruff is quite prone to recurring if you stop treatment (aka stop your shampoo). I do have a friend that uses Dove dryness & itch relief shampoo which has zinc pyrithione (same active ingredient as Head & Shoulders). My friend has eczema and the head & shoulders didn’t help due it drying out their skin. Dove has been the only product that has worked for them so far. They also don’t shampoo everyday to help avoid dry hair.
