Every once in awhile I'll find a DJ on youtube who is just spinning vinyl on 2 turntables, a mixing board and maybe some fx(delay, reverb, eq3 maybe) and completely improv mode. The calmness where they can just pick almost any album in their curated collection, find a perfect spot(at the correct tempo and pitch shifted key, maybe) and then mix two albums together and switch to a new song is just amazing from my perspective. They seem almost zen like. Alot of those techniques are still very relevant. Although yeah...what you are doing with the hardware, live looping and .midi routing symphony is a different type of complicated. Thanks for explaining some of that complexity.

the whole playing vinyl thing is soothing and therapeutic to me even if i'm pumping out serious tunes. handling music is such a different approach

@@AnalogKitchen There is a sort of connection that exists when music exists as a physical object instead of a software portal. My favorite instrument right now is not my guitar, surprisingly. It is an empty plastic coffee can. I jest, yet only slightly.

I have 4 patterns for each track on an OXi One: 1: Intro/Outro midi with program change 2: Intro/Outro midi 3: Main midi 4: Alt midi That way I can play the midi of a different track with the current tracks sound or I can use the program change to get it on the correct patch on an Analog 4. Since it's in patterns of 4 it's easy to mentally map. Drums are through Analog RYTM, they are just pattern based, each pattern is locked to a specific kit. I make 10 - 16 patterns, record them to Audio and manually *Bubble Sort* them by intensity so the start is always softer and the end harder. Once I've sorted the list I copy them all to a new bank in the correct order, this method allows me to not have to know the kits but can fairly easily guess the intensity before changing. If I want to transition the drums I cut it back to the kick and change the pattern when I feel like changing. Everything is Surco style, drums and synths aren't tied together in any specific way. *Bubble Sort* algorithm: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqCdwaiCZ6bbqqQ.html Side note: You should get an OTO Boum AK! Glues everything together and makes everything sound incredible! It was the missing piece for me, now if I turn it off everything sounds flat.

I think AK may still have the discord channel as a perk for the patreon membership. In some ways, I can understand why that is how it is. Discord channels that are fully public and open require excessive moderation due to how people will sometimes spam andOR abuse the platform in various ways.
