Did this with the exact same card, if you don't want a rough surface apply lighter coats... bro just fucking went ham on the paint.

Use a 2 in 1 paint primer... primer always comes out blotchy!
Your prep work is fantastic. Your paint work however is horrendous. Multiple thin coats is the key not a couple thick ones.

this hurts my eyes man.... T^T Clean parts with alcohol before sanding (this prevents any grease to be sanded inside the plastic) use *steel wool* for sanding next time this prevents deep scratches and its easier to hit those hard to hit spots. clean with a brush and cloth after clean with alcohol or any degreaser again that does not effect plastic. (not kitchen soap) hang everything up so it does not touch the ground. use a plastic primer, with a fine muzzle. (put a light layer on it as thin as possible but still covering and go for the hard to hit spots first) let dry and after and really lightly sand it again with the wool and clean with a duster and cloth. then apply color (use a fine muzzle spraycap again) NOW do a really light layers of paint , try to go for the hard to hit spots first lightly and let it dry then the whole thing (fans inner blade corners for example.) no need to rush the first layer does not have to cover all at once take your time. why hang the items up? so filth cant get on it easily, and you can do both sides in 1 go, and you can get easy to the hard to hit spots . a airbrush would be best to paint the gpu **also try to apply the paint as thin as possible because after spray painting your fans will not be balanced anymore and they can break faster** P.S my English is not great
Your spray paint nozzle is clogged or dirty, that's why you have blobs coming out. Painting the fan will unbalance and reduce the life of it... i believe.

Thanks for making this video. The steady upclose shots were much appreicated. Everyone else is doing horrible quick cuts and it's hard to make out the quality of the paint job.

Thank you for the support! We are not expert in spray painting but we are certainly trying our best and show it to you guys!
if u want to achieve a more "smooth" paint/feel, after you apply a thin layer of primer and let that completely dry, you can sand it down with some super fine sand paper (something like 1000grit or more) so you now have a smooth surface to spray on and then add a layer or two of white paint

Nah bro 120 is super fine, that will work a treat. I paint houses for a living so everyone, 120 grit for sanding after primer coat has dried then do super light coats until you have the right amount of white. Then 1 coat of clear for protection

Why don't you say gentlemen? You can say ladies but you cannot say gentlemen? 🤦🏻♂️
Hello, so why you don't make a varnish?
or you could have used white vinyl sheets and stick on the cover of the gpu that way looks more clean. that is also less dramatic and would look shiny.
@archetype_origins
10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the customer requested that the full GPU be white, including the fans so vinyl stickers were not an option
Do you think it's possible to paint brush the Gpu, so it isn't necessary to dismount it?
@archetype_origins
10 ай бұрын
I would highly recommend that you remove your GPU. If you're using a paint brush, I would definitely avoid painting the fans and only pain the plastic areas.
Can't the sprayed part just be ordered in white? Or I'll bet AliExpress has it.
Awesome tutorial

Glad you liked it! 😉
great video but as a automotive tech, the scratch lines could of been removed by going 1 step further either 320 or 400 grit, the lines wouldn't be visible.

Thanks for the tip!
its not a good move to paint the fans, the weight gets unbalanced and it reduces their performance, they will also die a lot faster, its better to look for some fans that are white already and just paint the plastic cover of the gpu
@archetype_origins
10 ай бұрын
Yes, we agree that painting the fans is not optimal. If you have the option to opt for an already white GPU, then that is preferred!
I’d be getting some lift off or something to wipe the paint off on the RTX side and where ever else there is paint 😮😬
You can use radiator paint on the backplate
@archetype_origins

Yes we can! However, the GPU is gonna be vertically mounted, and our customer requested to not paint it
Just doing this now on a Asus rtz 2060 Evo ye the cutting out of the letters were a real pain but so far it looks good, just hope it works again 😂

First off thanks for the video Im not gonna get on you about the paint job but I think painting the fans I wouldnt do just cause they are blanced from the factory and it might cause issues down the line.

The reason that turned out so bad is because you prayed way too much paint on there your first two or three coats should barely even Coatel the thing they should be extremely thin coats or else get bubbles and puddling better yet just don't do it keep your warranty or just buy a white GPU instead
Alucinante trabajo, quedó muy bonita, yo no pude usar pintura y usé vinilos de colores del EVA-01 en caja de PC y tarjeta gráfica, un saludo desde Toledo, España.

how not to do it
You don't need to be an expert at spray painting, light and thin coatings you did say patience is the key but you went all out with a thick layer. But otherwise still good video.
I think I’m just gonna stick with my old gpu or just break my piggy bank and get the white edition asus rig strip 😂…

Your other videos are still pretty awesome
There goes your warranty please do not do this if you have a new GPU that still has an active warranty it's stupid and will leave you with a useless GPU if something happens to it if you want a white GPU stop being broke save your money and buy a white GPU that or make sure whatever GPU you're about to ruin is used and the warranty is non-existent on it
yeah dont sand anything if youre watching this video and reading comments yall, that dude fucked that whole thing up with way to much paint for one and using a WAY TO ROUGH GRIT sandpaper for this type of job lol. Hell if you really wanted to and 800-1000 grit is WAY BETTER why the hell would you want to sand down something used for wood and PLASTIC 🤯🤯🤯
Looks horrible sorry, but it's not easy. Paint layers are too think/chunky.
That shit looks awful, not to mention you painted the FANS?
