Here is a progression of how the Balintawak system works.
Balintawak is a Filipino Martial Art (FMA) specializing in close quarters combat taught all over the world. Guro Kevin has achieved his Black Belt equivalent (Level 6) under his Grandmaster Bobby Taboada and is very passionate about his training in FMA.
In a world possibly filled with violence and street fights that are no longer fair, the fear of a weapon can be crippling to one’s confidence in holding their own if faced with a life-threatening attack. The goal of the student is to build confidence against the two most common weapons a short stick or a knife. The Balintawak class will help the student build the understanding and mindset needed to stay alive and get back home to their family at the end of the day. Guro Kevin teaches how to avoid these dangerous encounters at all costs but is also realistic and trains for the worst case realistic scenario.

How does Wing Chun come to play. When you’r practicing Balintawak?
I know this Video is older, but... Can someone at Budobrothers maybe explain the Footwork in Balintawak? Do you use the "normal" triangle Footwork as other FMAs or is this Centerline back and forth and Body Angling (which is super important, I know) the only footwork? I couldn't find anything useful online and since I am a Kevin Goat admirer (not in a weird way ;-) ) I thought I ask here. Thanks for serious answers, everyone! And an early Happy New Year!
