@@briyonce7317 THANK YOU for asking this! I've been looking everywhere for an answer to this but no one talks about it. The back/middle of my hair absorbs water/moisture so fast (2 minutes, if not less) but the front/middle takes ages (+5 minutes) to let the moisture in and then let it out. I honestly don't know anymore, sometimes I just want to cut all of my hair. 😩

I actually don’t put attention to figuring out my porosity (although I know it’s a mix of low and medium). I’m not there yet with the bomb wash and go, but after 10 years of struggling I feel like I got a much better understanding now of my very low po hair than ever, so I feel like I’m almost there. 🤗 Any day now is what I keep telling myself. 😆 But I cant tell you how comforting it is for me to see girls with beautiful hair like yours and to know that it wasn’t plain sailing, but you got there in the end. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

Wow! Can you really train hair? Any science behind this concept?

You can train it to part in the same parts every time. Also, you can train it to fall in a particular direction when weighed down. I don't know much about wash and go training though.

Yes, I definitely trained mine. It’s basically getting your hair to do what it’s naturally supposed to do. My hair used to be really frizzy with not a curl in sight (unless I used gel). I stopped doing so many tight hairstyles and started doing more wash n gos (plus changed up my wash day routine) and I noticed that without products my curls were starting to show on their own.

@@politereminder6284 training to me means getting your hair use to good moisture and being in it's curly state... The less I stretched and let it stay in it's curly state the more my hair became less frizzy and my curls became more defined... Moisture and finding the right products for you is first key

Hey, I have a question. A lot of people use gel to curl their hair on wash days but I'm trying to grow my hair, so how am I going to moisturize my hair(to make it grow) if I also need gel to train it?

Nope!!! It doesn’t work with 4c hair. I have to apply outside the shower on damp hair

It works with my sister's. It can work for anyone. It'll just look different and need different techniques. My sister's version of a wash and go is an afro. If she was going for super defined hair, it wouldn't work for her either.

It does work, it just doesn’t magically look like another texture/curl pattern. It’s not like a perm rod set where you use a certain size roller to get a certain size curl. A wash n go is simply the slightly more defined version of your shrunken Afro-which is completely different for everyone. So if you don’t like you’re shrunken Fro, then you’ll struggle with accepting your wash n go-but it always works. Sometimes cutting your hair into a specific shape helps with the end result and using a hood dryer to prevent some shrinkage. But it starts with loving your hair as it is-otherwise wearing this style is pointless.
