People don’t realize how complex natural hair really is, u really have to take ur time to figure it out , but in once u do ur styles will come out bomb.
porosity over texture any day, once you know your porosity, hair care comes SOOOO much easier

Is it possible to have both low and high porosity?
@natth25
3 жыл бұрын
@@briyonce7317 THANK YOU for asking this! I've been looking everywhere for an answer to this but no one talks about it. The back/middle of my hair absorbs water/moisture so fast (2 minutes, if not less) but the front/middle takes ages (+5 minutes) to let the moisture in and then let it out. I honestly don't know anymore, sometimes I just want to cut all of my hair. 😩
This topic is so UNDERATED ❗️❗️❗️
My very first wash n go was an epic fail. The second time around I let my sis do it for me and like you said Candi... My hair did not want to cooperate. That time it lasted for one night. Then I QUIT! Thank you so much for your tutorials!! I'm willing to give it another shot now. No heat for 2020!
I train my hair by not combing it out while washing. I only finger detangle. This way my hair stay curly even before products

Sister. I agree with everything you said. Your number one tip. Yeeessss. Know what your porosity is. I give this video two thumbs up with a snap. Your hair looks awesome.

Thank you so much Nicole! That means a lot 😊😊
Lol I was ending with ....”once you stayed consistent....BAM... cut it all off” LOL great step by step tips. I actually don’t put attention to figuring out my porosity (although I know it’s a mix of low and medium). I just pay attention to how my hair feels with specific products and yes doing it soaking wet. I honestly think that process works well for most everyone
Perfect information I was looking for. God bless you girl!
Great information. I’m definitely going to implement shower routine and ending with the shower cap. That is like WOW! Thank you so much for sharing and posting
Everything you said is spot on. I love your energy; I feel like you'd make a great life coach and/or teacher. I bet you're good at giving life advice haha.

Very informative!!! Good video!! I shared it with a friend who just did the big chop.
Very motivational thanks. My hair changes every time I get it cut and I got it cut two months ago so now it’s at a point where it’s more wavy than curly. My hair has been curly before so i know it can be curlier than how it currently is and I was getting frustrated. I also struggle with frizzy hair
I have good products, but my routine🥴...I’m going to try the hooded drier. Most of the you tubers that I love and follow stay away from wash and go’s. Since I have to keep my butt in the house, I’m gonna get this down. Great video! You are funny as hell!

Fantastic tips Candi, particularly the one about sticking with it once you get that bomb wash n go. I’m not there yet with the bomb wash and go, but after 10 years of struggling I feel like I got a much better understanding now of my very low po hair than ever, so I feel like I’m almost there. 🤗 Any day now is what I keep telling myself. 😆 But I cant tell you how comforting it is for me to see girls with beautiful hair like yours and to know that it wasn’t plain sailing, but you got there in the end. Thank you for being such an inspiration.

Man I wish my hair could appreciate sticking to the same products. When it comes to my hair it tends to get used to things really quickly and it's just like "ok listen I see what you tryna do, but this ain't it no more sis." 🤣 so I gotta change it up and surprise my hair every other week lol it's been working for me🤷🏾♀️ it's also another way to try new products... it's a killer on budget tho😭

we have the same wash routine. i have low porosity, high density, coarse texture, 3a,b,c curls.
LOVE the Wendy intro. She is the cutest!
Love this. Thank you! 1 question: How do you maintain your curls in between your wash days?
I’ll have to try putting a shower cap on my daughter’s head after the shower to help keep it wet. I swear after putting lotion on and getting dressed her hair is dry. It’s definitely a learning process. She’ll be 4 this year and I still haven’t figured it out 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ But honestly her hair has been in braids for several months now. I love her curls though, so I definitely want to learn how to keep her hair out. Hopefully one day (soon) I’ll figure it out!
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to be listening to” That is literally meeee!😂
This was very informative. I’m so happy to know it’s not just me that has trouble with my hair and thank you for making the statement that this is not going to change your hair texture your hair is what it is going to be. By the way what is your hair type and how long have you been natural. Did you flat iron before or have a relaxer?

I found your videos populating on my KZread feed a lot. “Thanks to my sister”😒. But although I’m not interested in black girls hair care processes for myself personally. I’ve come to find other things about you intriguing. Like the way you talk. I KNOW YOU HAVE TO BE FROM GEORGIA😂. The combination of how you articulate and encourage sophistication within black beauty…you definitely got my attention.
What do you do after you put the gel in??? I know you sit under dryer but do you blot some of the water away? Do you use any tension to stretch your hair while it’s drying?
I actually had my locs for most of my life so when I finally took it out a few months ago my texture Is 4a but it’s actually 3c it’s just not trained at first I didn’t believe it until I took these steps and did stuff to train it. Now my hair actually turned into a nice curly 3c. I mean I knew I was gonna have it cuz my mom has 3c type but I was unsure. Idk lmao
Thanks !
Wow What a lovely hair. You're so beautiful and wonderful and radiant and glamorous

You can train it to part in the same parts every time. Also, you can train it to fall in a particular direction when weighed down. I don't know much about wash and go training though.
@DejaLanae
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I definitely trained mine. It’s basically getting your hair to do what it’s naturally supposed to do. My hair used to be really frizzy with not a curl in sight (unless I used gel). I stopped doing so many tight hairstyles and started doing more wash n gos (plus changed up my wash day routine) and I noticed that without products my curls were starting to show on their own.

@@politereminder6284 training to me means getting your hair use to good moisture and being in it's curly state... The less I stretched and let it stay in it's curly state the more my hair became less frizzy and my curls became more defined... Moisture and finding the right products for you is first key

@isi.4800

It works with my sister's. It can work for anyone. It'll just look different and need different techniques. My sister's version of a wash and go is an afro. If she was going for super defined hair, it wouldn't work for her either.
@denyshadials5702
4 жыл бұрын
It does work, it just doesn’t magically look like another texture/curl pattern. It’s not like a perm rod set where you use a certain size roller to get a certain size curl. A wash n go is simply the slightly more defined version of your shrunken Afro-which is completely different for everyone. So if you don’t like you’re shrunken Fro, then you’ll struggle with accepting your wash n go-but it always works. Sometimes cutting your hair into a specific shape helps with the end result and using a hood dryer to prevent some shrinkage. But it starts with loving your hair as it is-otherwise wearing this style is pointless.
