What weight rod do you use to cast this? I have trouble casting heavy flies.

For bass 6, 7, or 8 weight rods. For big heavy flies I would use an 8wt rod. Easier to cast heavy flies.Tight Lines!
What’s the best monofilament size to use?
I like everything about this fly except the weed guard.

You can just not tie in the weedguard then, lol
drink every time he says "tying thread" - you'll die.
