Carving the oil bottles and leaving them partially bare clay is reallly helpful. Putting a thumb dent in them really helps as well. Making them less likely to drop is a great idea!!
I would really like to see how you trim the oil bottles or anything that is tall and has a skinny neck.

I made a throwing chuck out of clay. All it is is a chunky cylinder that is thrown fairy tall thay tapers out slightly. I low fire them and then use wads of clay to stick them to the wheel. Then invert the bottle on it and use some clay wads to hold it in place. Then happy trimming.
Could you do bathroom soap pump bottle, and tooth brush set?
The flip over! Genius. Haha. I love it when there's such a simple solution. Thanks for the tutorial.
The last one looks so nice!
i really enjoying to watch your videos every morning.as a ceramist in IRAN its intresting to see how u manage your time and work as an artist.👏👏👏💙💙
The candles are fun! When you said the scents and started with 'fir' I thought 'ugh... Like dog? How is that Christmas?' and then I realized it wasn't FUR. 😂 Love the return to a throwing video!
Love your work Jon. 😊
Thank you Jon for doing one of your teaching videos again.❤ takes me back to Mocha Monkey’s basement. More please 🙏
I loved seeing the gas kiln.
Sup Jon. Wishing you and the fam a happy thanksgiving season.🕊
Jon - how do you measure/decide the width of the bottle? I have very small hands so my hand size would REALLY make the whole bottle smaller. For your 2#, how tall are your bottles, green? Oh, and how do you ensure the inside is totally glazed? When I've done a pour in to a bowl/cup, rolling the unit around can still miss spots where I have to use my fingers to connect all the glaze. If the item is a skinny necked bottle, I can't get my fingers in, or see how well the inside is done. An idea I had was to get white liner and water it down to thin milk, pour it in, roll and just shake the bugger. Do you have ideas/tips for me? Thanks.
What happened if you don’t get the water out
white clay product.
Out of curiosity, what type of wood are your shelves that you put your pots on?
Was really hoping to buy an oil bottle….will they be available on Etsy?
