Its hard for me to release like that showing c to home plate as you release it's awkward arm angle

I think this is a great pitch. I've faced a few good pitchers who had mastery of this. I used to throw a change up by moving the ball back in my hand. I would pull my arm down hard leaving my wrist in the up position. This also was very effective.

Yes,This is how you throw it and he is correct many young pitchers say they throw it but they they don,t throw the circle they throw it like a fastball and its now a straight change which will be hit out of the park if not located. You need to throw it as hard as possible it will move right at the end towards a right handed batter about four inches from a right handed pitcher just catching the outside corner-see Greg Maddux.

@esselborn23 This is one of the more difficult pitches to throw, you have to keep working on it. This is actually a C-change not a circle. When you get better at throwing it, make more of a circle instead of a C and it will have more movement. In the 90"s the braves bullpen mastered this pitch and dominated.

hey im only 10 and i had pitching lessons and they said to just let it slip out of my fingers and im worried makeing the c face the plate might not be good for my arm im not sure so can somebody help me?

My change up i barely grip the ball with all my fingers along the seems. just before i release I turn my hand in and then release. It drops a ton and for a right hander it brakes in on them. its basicly a slower backwards curve

this is good for high school and some college, but after a while, the better hitters will see the C pointed at them and jump all over it
