A crucial step in your soap development process is rigorously testing each new batch of soap for its cure time and lather. You do this by taking detailed notes of your soap's behavior during the cycle of its cure process. In this video I teach you how to do this accurately and what to look for to know when your bar is ready to sell.

I tried your soap and let me tell you, it’s amazing. The lather, the smell, the feel on the skin…everything is great. Question, do you use more than 5% super fat?
@TheSoapGal

Thank you, that is very nice of you. It is at a 7% super fat

@@TheSoapGal Would you say it's okay to super fat 100 Olive oil Castile soap up to that percentage?
@karijaneify
Жыл бұрын
@@raffiandtania6022 A 5% superfat is often the norm. For a pure 100 percent olive oil soap, 7 percent superfat is unnecessary as it's high in oleic fatty acids and very gentle on the skin; has no lauric or myrisitic fatty acids ( which are the ones that can be drying for the skin. Olive oil soaps are very " thirsty" and absorb a lot of water and often become sticky and stay soft so keeping them well drained between uses is vital. (Personally I'd recommend a 3% superfat for any soap recipe with 20% or less coconut oil; it helps reduce the chance of rancidity, and reduces the amount of free oil(unsaponified oil) going down your pipes. (just ask a plumber!)
