i mean investing is a bit confusing to qualify, as i would rather not go through the fake reaching for wallet charade without actually expecting to pay it (or without consequence down the line). i'm fine paying for most/every thing, but yes - it has to be paid back in equity somewhere eventually. cannot just be a one way street.

@Cmndr Roy Fokker i'm married - wife is stay at home mom/wife. of course, i'm paying for everything. even when she is paying for something, that money probably came from me. we don't need to pretend with a charade of who is paying for what. obviously the expectation is that she carries her part of the relationship in whatever non-monetary way to make it equitable. same with dating.

Dehumanized is the perfect word to describe how it feels. I'm a woman who recently went on first date with a guy who started asking me a bunch of financial questions immediately. It was obvious it was all about using me for money so I lied a bit and downplayed how much money I made. He immediately walked out and never came back. Even though I dodged a bullet I went home and cried like a baby. I felt horrible about myself.

@@cadewardlaw5162 We weren't in a relationship, we had just met. In the end I was relieved. He seemed like the type of man who would need the woman to wear the pants and run the show. In the past women needed men's money so it was fine for us to do everything else. Now that we are bringing money to a relationship, if the man can't cook, clean, make plans etc. he really becomes a burden.

Women don't want to be reduced to their sexually features, and men don't want to be reduced to their pocketbook. But it's a heck of a temptation for both sets, because I think the discussion around hypergamy and "male gaze" suggests that the forces are intense, and if not socialized to reduce their dominance, are catastrophic. Especially as we enter into a digital era, where the excesses of both wreck havoc on those who don't have the discipline or strength or fortune to hold out against a tidal force.

This was a great video! I wish I saw stuff like this a long time ago before I had gotten married to a narcicist who did stuff like this a lot. Thanks for being an advocate for us guys out there, good to see women that are level-headed and just wanna see good relationships be found.

Remember, all that glitters is not gold. Every very attractive woman I have been with had issues. For an LTR, stick with the girl next door types. Most of them have their feet firmly on the ground, and if you are a high value guy, they will submit to you. A good woman will make your life easier, not more difficult.

Once you have been through a divorce you are wary of making a mistake in becoming emotionally invested. Thank you for your bringing this problem into focus.

When my wife finished medical school she was pregnant with our first. She told me after the baby is born I think I'll be a stay at home mom for a while. I told her, NOPE you've got school loans to pay. You're going to work after 12 weeks. She started back 2 weeks early 😁 Stand your ground especially in the early years of marriage in a constructive way. Remember, dating is good behavior.

I then ask, "have you ever bought her dinner of put up with her bitching at you because she's hot? The answer is yes. I then say, "well then Brother, you're paying a price one way or another". My point is, even if she used you for sex because you're good at it and you got good sex in return, perhaps she did use you for that even though it was mutual. Just a perspective.

Good points listed! I mean.... if the girl is obviously taking ur money.. its a no go. Oh! I wanna add....... I genuinely texted guys as a friend, and talk about the difficulties of dating, or about manga, anime, games........ but then afterwards he wanted to have a relationship.... So I say no. (At this point he lived in a different country as me and I hate long distance plus I never thought of this dude as anything other than a friend). We still talked once in a while till he accused me of stringing him along for attention. This annoyed me since I didn't talk to him for attention, I do that to have a friendship. So if you are catching feelings, either for girls or guys, and one side isn't interested, its best to just stop contact for a while, or else both sides will ultimately feel hurt. I was pretty annoyed by his comment "your using me for attention". I apologized right away that he felt that way, then said "I won't text you no more", and blocked him. Maybe my reaction was too strong but.. I think the results are for the best, no need to make anyone feel salty or mad over past feelings.
