How close does the AirTag have to be?

Definitely don’t have the “Item Safety Alert” option on mine. Is this only if you have an AirTag installed on your iPhone?

Can it be set up so certain people in your contacts can find them

If the AirTag is near me does it say a name on the pop up or just the white circle with a the white pop up . Or if it’s not near you how would that loook no white pop up or no circle ?

I wonder how many people got stalkers using this device. I just heard someone got killed because some asshole tracked them down. How many times has this happened?!? Apple should be sued for this! The air tag should be illegal!

@benhartland4708 Safety should come ahead of convenience. Big companies should be held accountable for damages. We do not need phones to track our position. I miss the iPhone touch because it did NOT track you. We need more options that are not tracking devices.

@@nneo100 trackers are in fact made for safety, you can track your valuables, your child, your pet, etc. they CAN be used for harm but so can other tools. caveat emptor.

On my iOS 16.4.1 iPhone 13 max pro, It does not give me option to select item safety alert* it only shows notifications: allow friends request

Thank you for video, had my car stolen, lucky got my car recovered later that night ,one thing the police asked if I had a AirTag in my car. I didn’t have one ,but I will put one in NOW.

U forgot to mention something... AirTag works with iPhones running iOS 14.5 and later, but the Precision Finding feature works only with select models: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I do not have this option on my application. Maybe my phone is old? I have Iphone XR

I liked your video presentation but I do have a couple of questions/issues. I have an iPhone XS running iOS 15.4.1 and in the Find My app when I tap the "Me" button in the bottom right corner (1:41) and swipe up, in the Notifications section I do not have the "Item Safety Alerts" feature. All I have is "Allow Friend Requests". Secondly, in Settings you said to tap "Notifications" then scroll to and tap "Find My" and make sure "Immediate Delivery" is enabled. I do not have that feature on my phone. There is nothing between "Allow Notifications" (which is enabled) and "Time Sensitive Notifications" (which is also enabled). Are these features not available on the iPhone XS? Your video doesn't say.

I had to spend probably 40mins trying to research this. It wasn't until I put in 15.4.1 did I find a more current video that explains why we are not seeing the same screen. @@Bee-rt5qf Thank you for that very diligent research for me!! I don't think I could have found it. His video does address my first issue but his screenshot for my second issue does show the two options between Allow Notifications and Time Sensitive Notifications to select either Immediate Delivery or Schedule Summary which I do not have. Oh well.... .... it is what it is. I'll just have to continue searching or better yet, maybe a trip to an Apple Store is in my future.... :)

My wife's iPad doesn't have items safety alert on it under notifications does that mean she needs to update her apps or is it just an older version that doesn't have it? It is about 5 years old

I just purchased the new iPhone 13 Pro Max and the series 7 45mm watch and 2 AirTags. Everything is set up correctly and I do not have this feature in my Find My app either. Apparently I am not the only one.

unfortunately there are many other tracking tags now. There needs to be an App that can check for all tags (they must use the same signal technology) to see if there are any tags on your vehicle, etc. Some thieves are using it to track victims leaving banks, restaurants, etc.

I don’t see they notification on the app or settings

What is you only have an iPod because I only have an iPad will in airtight seal work on my iPod

It has no any sense till we have another air tags available. In other words it's no matter if Apple air tags has sound warning or not, because if someone wants to trace another person they going to use a galaxy air tag by default.

Got a notification after I parked my car going to work that an Airtag has been tracked near me. I looked on the map it been following for half the ride. All I know is I been waiting to beat somebody ass. Going to search the car at lunch.

What if you don't have Item Safety Alerts ? Just Allow Friend requests?

Same I’m guessing that they took away the ability to turn it on and off and now it’s just permanently a part of the phone because if an ex decided to turn that off on your phone or something or a weird significant other, they can track you all the time without you knowing

Very useful info for thiefs as well, so they can easily and quickly get rid of airtags attached to my stuff before I can locate them.

Can you find an iPhone tag with android phone?

I'm so worried about this, my ipad notified me that the "owner" of the ipad was looking for it. It detected the airtag near my house and i was at my sister's house... i don't own an airtag neither my family. And i would say maybe it was my ex, but I got the ipad after she moved out (before you say the phone) she has an Iphone and I have a Samsung. And even if i had an iPhone i wouldn't share accounts with nobody, that's my info right there.

Thank you 🙏!!! I did that test to find if one is nearby and it showed none were thankfully :S !! ... I had the notification last week but didn't find anything.. I guess the guy I hung out with had one and I'm guessing he took it with him thankfully... :S ... scary because he ended up being a creep :(

That’s not how that works. Only you can see the location of your AirTag. People can see if your AirTag is nearby, but the location isn’t shared with anyone except you. If somebody wanted to steal one of your instruments, they can see that an AirTag is nearby, but can’t see the location of the item.

It’s says unknown device and it does not detect AirTags 😳

Use a security camera and a mobil phone. Camera makes a screaming sound when near a phone or tracker

I have an Android system and have recently been in a dangerous living situtation. I have moved away, but installed Tracker Detect app, suggested by a friend. I opened the app up again today and noticed unknown airtag and I could not listen to the recording part. Could this airtag be on a personal item of mine that was in the previous apartment. sometimes the app does not detect unknow item and sometimes it does. Of course, I have alerted the police. But I am curious what you might can offer for knowledge or advice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What about the people who are getting tracked, there is litterly a huge amount of strangers that used airtag to track people without them knowing... its more important to have people knowing that they are beeing stalked and possibly followed by a strager.

Are you in touch with everything you want to track during every three hour interval? I don’t see that they serve any purpose with this warning feature.

The people who run Apple are some lowlives. They let their users put a little tag on someone and stalk them, and no way to know it unless you buy their iphone you don't want to detect their user's illegal tracking.

For some reason, I don’t know what it says. It says unknown AirTag and I don’t know what’s happening it’s tracking me down.

I was coming home from school and it said airtag detected near you and it looked like the route to my school, scary

I'm a Samsung galaxy user & i get them randomly at 3am & it scares me. My phone tells me "There's 2 NFC tags available to pair" but when I click on it to see where/what it is It tells me "Must have NFC Tag app to pair"? I'm genuinely scared because in my small town. There's been break ins & also my boyfriends car alarm went off last night & he ran outside with a knife. We tried to located this person & arrest him for entering people's homes & cars. They're probably using NFC tags to break in home devices or something? Plz help 🙏

An AirTag has been configured with one iPhone / Apple ID will not show itself on another iPhone “Find My” app! Imagine if that is the case, you can always steal other people AirTag just by link it to your iPhone.

I wanted to use these tags to track and recover stolen items if it’s this easy for criminals to find and remove the tags it defeats the purpose of having them
