You have to use the Find My app to track your own Airatg

I have an Android system and have recently been in a dangerous living situtation. I have moved away, but installed Tracker Detect app, suggested by a friend. I opened the app up again today and noticed unknown airtag and I could not listen to the recording part. Could this airtag be on a personal item of mine that was in the previous apartment. sometimes the app does not detect unknow item and sometimes it does. Of course, I have alerted the police. But I am curious what you might can offer for knowledge or advice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

So If I install a airtag in my vehicle and someone steals it, and they have a iphone then can use the “Play Sound” to find my airtag? Why have one then!

I want this feature, but I don’t know how to turn it on.

And the sound can’t be muted? Cause I can see I have an AirTag but when I play sound I can’t hear anything 😢

People removing the speaker out of the AirTag

Somebody did this to a nice truck I was driving with expensive wheels. I think they came and retrieved it from the car. Called the sheriffs and they scanned for one and could not find one. Good luck 👍

how do you know if you never found it?

I just got the notification but it does not let me play the sound … why do you think that is?

If the airtag notification does not allow you to play sound, that means you are too far away from where ever it is.

You would have to use a bug detector (hidden wireless device / tracker detector) to find the hidden wireless device or tracker. Here is a video for a Bug Detector: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oKSWyc-eqs_QisY.html

BUT....... if you turn on your Find My feature in your iPhone thieves can locate where your iPhone is and then rob your phone. The best thing to do is carpool or work from home if you can or use Revel scooters if you can and live close to home or if in New York City use Citi Bikes or the bus or train and sell your car if you don't have your own garage or a safe parking spot at home AND at work. If you live in a safe town that's the only time it's safe to own a vehicle. I would never buy a car in a big city.

I totally agree with you, I live in nyc queens and I just got this notification on my phone, I’m freaking out! I hate to own a car here, it’s such a headache but I’m not even able to sell it because my mother doesn’t want me to because taking the train isn’t safe she says 🙄

same here. it followed me since i got on the train, and it also has been following me to the camp. It either belongs to one of my friends who went with me, or the camps host. the other variant is that someone sticked it to my backpack at some point.

@@ZL1Dnero I don’t have any because I find it strange how it requires me to physically have the tag to disable it ! Didn’t have a chance to go by Verizon but yea never seen it before and I literally seen 4 since yesterday… Apple needs to fix this

My phone just suddenly gave me a message saying one was found moving with me But I didn’t find any AirTag with me???? It doesn’t want to play a sound either it says it’s not reachable Does this mean I’m still being possibly tracked😭

Yes probably still tracking you nearby. The Airtag only have a range about 30 feet. The notification may be late and just telling you that you have been nearby (sometime) but not currently when you are checking on the alert.

@@DIYGEEKTEXAS Ah I see, I may have just been near one at some point of the day because the alert was an hour late -it said it was seen at like 4:15pm but I got the notification at 5:22pm Thank you for the response! 😭
