    IF THE HANDS ARE NOT SHOWING UP => Since 25/07, the new version 1.39 of the Oculus Integration has changed how the Local Avatar works. Here is the fix : To see your avatar, you have to register an oculus app id. On the top panel go to Oculus / Avatars / Edit Settings, you can create an oculus app id here dashboard.oculus.com/ (usefull if you want to make some multiplayer stuff or publish to oculus store) BUT any number as the Oculus App ID will also works !

    @@issaalabdali2928 Had the same error - it appears when your oculus desktop app isn't installed. Just download and install it first: www.oculus.com/setup/?locale=en_US And yes, it's the Rift S one ;-)

    Without it I can still see my hands but for some reason a clone of my hands are on the ground, i cannot interact with objects with my hands either.

    Another great easy to follow tutorial. It would be great if you could do any tutorials on how to create doors/levers which can be moved with touch. Also a distance grab video with outline highlight rather than crosshair. Great video series learning alot here :)

    Thank you Valem for this video. Anyone having issue something like throwing away from the ground surface while teleportation; this might be helpful - character controller and over player controller script components in the playercontroller game object must be disabled. Also in locomotion teleport aim collision type should be sphere and aim collision radios and height should be 0.1

    This tutorial is out of date: Oculus does not utilize CharacterController anymore, but relies on CapsuleCollider and SimpleCapsuleWithStickMovement. I was able to get the teleportation working by checking how the things are set up in the Oculus/SampleFramework/Usage/Locomotion scene

    Finally I found the differences to make this, but the player is moving in the opposite direction. If you have problems to set character controller or player controller, enable them from the script above from Locomotion Controller (Script) component of Teleportation object. Then you can set them. I had problems with OVRCameraRig, so check them carefully.

    @@sannilemmikki7398 Did you ever figure out how to get this working? I'm also moving in the opposite direction. Very weird. I also had to enable the 2 lines (and disable the 2 other ones) to make it work with OVRPlayerCOntroller.

    @@gekkeprutser8097 Yes I found the problem. I'm currently traveling and that's why I can't currently fully get back to how I solved it. Anyway I remember that I had problems with the versions of Unity and had to update to the next LTS version. If you're updating, create a copy of your project before, you can't get back to the older version after updating!

    @@sannilemmikki7398 It's ok, I found it too. It was a tickbox in the physics settings. Auto sync transforms. Thank you for your reply however after all this time! In fact many things have changed even on the LTS version I'm on (2021.3) so I had to already make a lot of changes from how it says things in the video. But that was OK, it finally works! Thanks so much for your help.

    Thank you for a great tutorial, I like how you don't waste any time ! I am trying to teleport in empty space - is there something like a 3D grid snap, would I have to bake a 3D grid as a navmesh, or place grid nodes in space and use the node option ?

    Hi, I'm having trouble with the orientation of the camera after teleporting, sometimes it rotates the player randomly , instead of rotating the player to where i'm aiming. Do you know how to fix this problem? thank you

    This has been great for getting teleportation up and running - thanks! However, I want to disable the orientation because when I teleport and orientate it messes up the direction my player controller moves after the teleport. So forward on the thumbstick goes sideways, and my camera rig is not facing forwards. Any ideas? I'd like to just teleport in direction = forward with no extra orientation options. I'm using Oculus Quest.

    It's quite odd the two games I love the most in VR has to do with 3rd person perspective a la platformer style. e.g. moss and KIN. Something about having that god like view on a tiny world. Any chance you'll be covering similar approach? I just think FP perspective has been covered enough. Thanks in advance.

    I cannot drag the OVRplayerController into the Character Controller, and the Player Controller reference boxes in the inspector within the Locomotion Controller script component. Any ideas? I did all the same set up steps as this video

    I also found that you need to add LeftHandAnchor and RightHandAnchor under the Teleport Input Handler Touch (Script)

    Hey, thanks for the nice Video! Since Oculus Integration v12 there were some (nasty) changes to the "Locomotion Controller" Script and the "Teleport Input Handler Avatar Touch" Script and im not able to figure out how to make it work again. Maybe an idea for a new video. I see a lot of people having the same issue. Have a nice day!

    Is there a way to block the arrow function of teleport? ppl get confused about orientation cause When I teleport forward the orientation is wrong. I hope a fix of this

    Thanks for the tutorial Valem! I have a problem: I put my timestep to 1/80 (Rift S is 80Hz) because I fell through my floor when I teleported. But changing the timestep to be smaller didn't help--I keep falling through the floor! Anyone else have the same problem? Any fix ideas?

    Thanks for this tutorial. Only problem is it doesn't seem to work on Go. I followed everything and when I got into the experience in my Go. I had a controller, but it wouldn't do anything, no laser, no arrow, no teleport. Do I need to set the up Teleport Input Handler Touch component differently?

    hello, thanks for the great tutorial, everything works fine but i have an issue, whenever i teleport on objects it bounces me back really far and sometimes off level, how can i fix this bounce, i tried the collision radius, it seems a bit better but the problem is still there, thank you in advance

    If you open the LocomotionController script, you'll see the old Character Controller and Player Controller variables commented out, along with the new and different versions of these variables. Comment out the new variables and uncommenting the old variables seems to work.

    I'm still new to this, so I probably just made a simple mistake, but when I hit play in the scene, my quest is still in the oculus home. I'm not sure how to check if the .apk file is on my quest and if not how exactly to get it on there to test. Please help and thank you.

    i have problem when i tried to integrate OVR Interaction in it. the main issues are: 1. the hand tracking and hand animation is really off, not sync with the hand movement; 2. the interactors affect the movement so when we tried to grab an object, the rig also moves and makes me fall. any idea how to integrate locomotion system and OVR interaction SDK?

    @@claystudiofx does it work, or just allow you to apply over player controller. Nothing I do works. Best I've been able to get is a laser showing that does squat.

    Great tutorial. Helped me a lot in a previous project. I just have a slight problem atm. When I try to teleport to the location where the arrow is, I am being pushed backwards instead of going forward? Does anybody know why this is happening? I have doublechecked what I did on the previous project and found no errors. I followed this tutorial on both projects, but for some reason it doesnt work now on my current project?

    Hi there ! I had this problem and i seems that i managed to resolve it by replacing the character controller by a Capsule Collider. Why it worked ? Actually don't know, but if it helps you, it's my pleasure

    You can do this be adding a box collider to the button. Then add a script that trigger the button OnTriggerEnter! :)

    @@ValemVR I tried that method and it works! Except if I don't have trigger ticked on any gameobject set as a child to the hands the scale of it goes to 0.1f and if I press trhe grips button they expand to scale 1! I had a look at the 'Hand' script and saw a variable of min and max collider but didn't really know how to change it

    Hi there, thanks for the tutorial valem ! it is as clear as crystal ! But... When i try to implement the PlayerController, my VR hands tends to shake, it doesn't really prevent me from selecting things but it's a disturbance since i'm always willing to watch my hands. And by the way the hands seems to have trouble in general animation, the thumb and index never moves, does any of you reading this have an idea of how to fix it ?

    Actually i could manage to fix that jittering stuff by deleting LocalAvatar and Using CustomHands L & R, i attached them as children of Controller Anchors in the OVRPlayerController. All is left to do now is to understand why i can't add the OVRPlayer Collider to my locomotion system.

    Thanks for this tuto, so i have a problem i follow all the steps but when i hit play and i try to teleport to any place i cant see the teleport destination or the laser, i modified both prefabs (TeleportDestination, TeleportLaser) to enable the game object and does not work, can you give me a clue please and thanks again

    I can't get it to work. When I press the Right index trigger, a red line appears in the ground, and no arrow. when i release it, nothing happens, and i can't walk around at all with the left thumbstick anymore.

    I fixed it attaching the LocalAvatar object to the TeleportInputHandlerAvatarTouch component.

    Go: Project Settings - Physics - Auto Sync Transforms and enable it ! Worked for me :)

    Nothing is working. Still the same controls. Several differences I have is teleportinputhandleravatartouch is teleportinputhandlertouch. Dont know if they're the same. Second locomotion controller script had to be reset so I could add the OVRPlayer controller Third, teleport input handler touch has a left and right hand option. Fourth, theres nothing in my teleport destination prefab, its blank.

    @@mikeywiththecamera Try using a thin cube as the floor rather than a plane? Maybe with a slightly thicker collision box it would be harder for that to happen.

    Hi, thanks for some great tutorials, Valem! However... I'm having some issues when implementing teleportation. I've followed you steps to the point several times now and everytime I get the same issues. 1. When i enable teleportation I'm no longer able to move using the thumbsticks. 2. Sometimes (too often) when I teleport i get teleported way off my plane, even though the teleport destination is on the plane. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm on Unity 2019.1.12f1 using Oculus integration 1.38 developing for Quest. Edit: I've solved the first issue. Found a post somewhere telling me to comment out a line in LocomotionTeleport.cs (line 787: LocomotionController.PlayerController.Teleported = true;) This didn't help me tho...

    I've managed to solve the issue. Or rather find a workaround: 2018.2.0f2, Oculus Integration 1.35 and misc tries with java sdk's and androids sdk's later I've finally got it! More info: forum.unity.com/threads/oculus-integration-teleportation-not-working.642862/

    Hello Valem , Thank You for the tutorial. I have an issue. When I add TeleportDestination to my scene the prefab is not visible. I have moved it to be sure it is visible and in front of any other objects. Also, it is greyed out in the contents pane.

    Figure it out finally. Box was unchecked in inspector for some reason. Now, I have made the recommended changes to the teleport destination but when play the game there is no change.

    @@aldrichg9 Hey, what do you mean by the box is unchecked? Also I couldn't see the arrow when pointing ground, just a green line point to it and nothing happen when I press button. Thanks a lot in advance!

    @Valem I'm currently experiencing the falling problem: I have tried: 1) To change the fixed timestamp to several values: 1/90 (90Hz) or 1/72(72Hz) 2) Using a thin cube instead of a plane for the floor. Nothing works. I'm using Unity 2019.1.9f1 with Oculus integration 1.38 and the teleport with parabolic handler and deploying on Oculus Quest

    This has to do with some wonky code in the LocomotionTeleport script. In the DoTeleport method, comment out this line: LocomotionController.PlayerController.Teleported = true;

    I've followed what you are showing (until 4:07) but when it builds and runs in my headset, it shows no difference, there is no indication of teleportation when pressing any buttons. Any ideas of what i did wrong are appreciated, but i'm confident it was the same as what you shown.

    Anyone help me ! I am getting Null Reference error on TeleportInputHandlerAvatarTouch.cs/Transform t = (sourceController == OVRInput.Controller.LTouch) ?Avatar.ControllerLeft.transform : Avatar.ControllerRight.transform;(279). ControllerLeft and ControllerRight is null.

    HI All. In the locomotion controller i cannot import OVRPlayerCollider because is has not a capsul collider...Is the Oculus sdk changed?

    I believe you have to attach the "simple capsule with stick movement" script to the OvrPlayerController as well as a capsule collider.

    Is anybody experiencing jittery movements when grabbing an object and moving it around? I've tried to fix it changing Project Settings > Fixed timestamp to 1/72 (Quest) and 1/90 (Rift) but it still stutters. So annoying, hands movements are so fluid when I am in the Oculus main menu!

    Unfortunately it's a bug in Unity 2019.2. Unity is working on patching it in the latest version. If you some how are able to downgrade to 2019.1.13f1 it's already been patched there.

    Thank you very much, but I'm still going through the floor *_and_* I can't use thumbstick movement anymore... :---) EDIT: I was wrong about going trough the floor. The real problem is that it moves me *_backwards_* from where I'm looking at, and a distance relative to the TeleportDestination marker. But I can now move with the sticks by enabling movement/rotation During Ready and During Pre Teleport, but keeping During Aim disabled.

    Just as with the Oculus locomotion example scene: all works, except that I always teleport in the opposite direction (so, backwards!) from where I put the arrow! Have you seen this before? What could it be? I checked all prefabs for 180degree rotation, but all seems to be as-is... EDIT: As indicated by "em dawson": There's a fix on this page, search for Debashishb06 @t
