Hey, would like to seek an advise from you. If an Autistic child goes on to touch everyone around him, then can we conclude that he is seeking tactile sensation?? In that case can I provide him with a compression glove to wear ; I mean Is it going to work ?? Please suggest me some ways to deal with this issue.

Hello! Thanks for the question. It is difficult to determine without seeing your child. He may be touching everyone around him in order to establish boundaries due to decreased body awareness. In that case we would recommend increased heavy work (i.e. carrying a backpack with books or pushing a laundry basket filled with items around the house). If he or she is truly seeking out tactile input we would recommend giving him opportunities to get that input throughout his day with the use of tactile bins or a textured fidget.

@@NAPACenterPediatrics Thank you so much mam. I have been thoroughly following all your videos. Actually Mam ,He is a 12 year old child. In the school also he keeps on touching everyone as reported by his teacher,he would stand very close to the person near him and start touching him/her. Despite teaching him the correct behaviour several times,he is not at all stopping it.Another thing which his teacher says is that he is not aware of his safety;he would not try to protect/ defend himself from the other child who has probably hit /beaten him, instead simply tolerates it. Is this behaviour developing in him because of sensory issue??Does giving any kind of weighted objects which provides deep pressure work ??

@@debasmitamishra6160 you didn't get a response and have maybe figured something out by now but I would try to find an occupational therapist specialized in Sensory Processing Disorder that can help you navigate this. Even with professional help it can be a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best. I hope you can find someone to help.

I am an autistic adult. I find the term "taming" in this context is kind of dehumanizing. A word like calming or regulating would be more appropriate. Autistic humans are not animals who need to be tamed.

Ya I actually watched this as an adult who needed help myself. I didn’t really love the title but I did find the information about weighted objects helpful. Maybe the title could be better to help more adults find this too
