That's amazing!! I love finding wild orchids. I saw a ton of them when I went hiking in the mountains of Rizal Philippines! That means our natural ecosystem is thriving again!

@@orchidsisters7445 same here. I live in Brazil now, and our place is in the middle of forest protected area which is very condusive for orchids. Actually i dont know that we have catasetum in our garden i just consider it as wild orchid, until i saw your video.

My first time watching your videos; very informative and clear. What fertilizer do you use on catasetums? I live in Newfoundland Canada and I find it hard to find products locally. I'll have to order online and there are sooo many brands. I have my first catasetum and it is in its first growth stage for me.

Hi, I have a cyst started losing leaves for dormont, but I just noticed two small shoots at the base of the suduobobo. Should I continue to water it or stop the watering? Thank you very much!

You should stop watering when most of your leaves have fallen off. When the new shoots has grown about 1 inch and the roots has touched the medium, that is when to start watering again. That is also a good time to repot if you have to transplant the plant.

My catasetum is in dormancy but putting out a bid, should I water it or not?

Just water very minimal, around once every two weeks. You don't want the spike to blast and the bulbs shriveled. Stop watering when they flower.

On average would say they stay in bloom for about 2 weeks. There are a few varieties that can stay in bloom for a month but they are very few.

During growing period (spring) they need to be kept moist with lots of bright indirect sun and they need steady fertilizer (weak concentration, weekly). Superthrive is a great fertilizer with rooting hormone to help roots grow fast.

My catacerum plats with leaves don't don't have roots .. I think I over water it... can I still save it

They are just starting to root right now this spring, just be patient. They are getting nutrients from the leafless old bulbs while the roots develop. The roots will start to grow very fast during spring and summer

Legit said nothing about trimming roots from pseudo bulbs not growing since those bulbs never activate again
