Couldn't find deafult account setting on my iPhone 6

Good morning ! Just purchased my macpro, soon the iphone. Had an old icloud account, now I want to sync my google contacts and make them primary but wondering if I can do that from the macpro until I have my phone, second question : would you know the best way to sync multiple gmail contacts account and make sure they also check duplicate. (sorry if my sentences are weird... primary language is french) Thank you

If you have on gmail account already but you want to add another gmail will it able to sync the other account to the new one?

Absolutely brilliant. I moved over to Iphone in january 110 months ago and it has taken this long to find your amazing, clear and concise work around to get new contacts to be added to by gmail account as a default. Thank you for sharing this solution. Is there anyway of transferring contacts on the mobile device from icloud to gmail?

if we add like this new contacts were stored in new account, same time does old contacts appear or not ? or only do we get new contact ?

This seems a little outdated. To find the correct menu go to CONTACTS in Settings. The second line is ACCOUNTS. tap that and then look for the ADD ACCOUNT line which will then get you to the list of providers to sync such as GOOGLE. you can then follow back on the video for the rest of the process. Gen X is not scurred.

iPhone 13, There is no "passwords and accounts" tab in my settings. There is no accounts tab by itself. Where do I go from here?

Thank you for this extremely useful video! So when setting up the iPhone I don't need to use the Move to iOS app to transfer my contacts? Once I sync the Google Contacts with the iPhone all my Google contacts will appear automatically in the Apple Contacts app?

In case you're wondering I tried it and it works, just adding the Google account will show all your Google contacts in the Apple Contacts app.

@@Leinsterbaby Nope it shows all your contacts, except those that are 'hidden' (under 'Other contacts' on contacts.google.com). I do recommend to clean up your contact list on contacts.google.com before syncing, because I found it hard to manage the contact list on the apple contacts app once it's synced.

@@soufianekhatib8617 Ok, I did a quick search, apparently, there should be an option on iOS to show only contacts with phone nrs. Were getting our first even iPhones in 2 days, so im doing research prior to doing so :D

Hi Lee, I have a question. I just got an iphone and synced everything up between google mail, contacts, & calendars with my iphone. However, the contacts are not synced with iCloud. I added a new contact on my new iphone and when I log into iCloud it is the only contact that shows up. Can you advise please?

Hi Matt Morse thanks for watching; it sounds like you might want to have iCloud instead as your default - I how at 4:00 of the video. This video I show how to make your default contacts in Google; so those new contact will only display in Google Contacts for Gmail users.

It’s actually the opposite. I added a new friend on my iPhone so it went to iCloud. I switched after that to my gmail default but they still aren’t syncing. My iCloud only has one contact in it besides myself. It’s the new one.

It is not working for me. I would love to sync my contacts from icloud to outlook, please!! 😊

Thanks Lee, I have an issue, I did that an not all the information transferred over. I have a contact that has a birthday in my Google Contacts, but the birthday didn't transfer. Please help.

I found out it was related to Contacts who didn't have a year, I added a year in my google contacts and they synced.

HELP NEEDED! Thanks, but how does it work on the new iPhone 12 Pro Max... my problem: I select Google, I fill in my e-mail and password, then I see the spooky options (Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Notes) but after a few seconds the phone goes back to the page where I selected Google (at 2:06). Any help is welcome... THANKS!!

@@SaaSTechServers Hello Lee, thank you for your help, I have been on the phone with Apple support for a long time. It appears that the used email address was the problem. I didn't use a Gmail account only my own email address. I can log into my Google account with this email address so I used it to add my Google contacts to the new iPhone, but long ago I must have used a Gmail that I could not remember. We found it in my Google account info, used this one and now I could sync my contacts, notes, agenda and mail. THANKS AGAIN!!!

Good question you can bookmark contacts.google.com/ to your home screen on the iPhone will work best there is no app that I know of for Google contacts made by Google for iphone

I think when you open the link in Safari browser, near the bookmarks and send links there is add to home screen button. Hope this helps

Thanks man. For future tutorials I think if people search for "how to sync Google contacts to iPhone" then you don't have to tell them that they will need an iPhone and a Google account ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ get to the point! But thank you kindly first of all.

Sorry but this Vid is a bit outdated. I hate that KZread doesn't show the upload dates anymore on stuff. ...Anyway, there's no "Passwords and Accounts" anymore for one thing. Actually, in iOS 15.4.1 (2022) it's just: Go to "SETTINGS", "CONTACTS", tap "ACCOUNTS" & choose "ADD ACCOUNT", tap "GOOGLE", (Or whatever email provider acct. you want, Yahoo etc.) and then you'll see "CHOOSE AN ACCOUNT" & choose the specific Gmail (or other) email account you want to sync your device contacts with. Follow and confirm any prompts & then go back to "CONTACTS" scroll to bottom, tap "DEFAULT ACCOUNT" & select the account you added (Gmail etc.) as your default. Then any contacts you add on iPhone, iPad will automatically be added to your Google Gmail contacts & vice versa. Any Google Gmail contacts added from a computer or other device will be added to your iPad, iPhone as well. Contacts will still be added to your iCloud too btw.
