Let's be very generous here and assume the average time it takes to travel between tombstones is 36-37 seconds, and it takes about 40 seconds to die, respawn, grab a piece of wood and get back in the water. If this is true, it would take about 7 and a half years of nonstop gaming to make it across the body of water shown in the video and 2,097,151 deaths/pieces of wood. That wood could be used to craft enough rafts to circle (when placed end to end) the equator on a Valheim map about 32 times. The total distance swum would be the average distance between tombstones multiplied by 4,194, 303. I'm pretty sure this would result in a swim speed skill greater than 65.

This has to be the longest-to-create Valheim video of all time. Props. Especially for doing it on a topic that very few people will search for. I appreciate all the effort you went through to make this.

I have one other option (suggestion). Make a second world. When you run out of stamina, log out and enter the other world. Regain your stamina and log back into your swim with renewed stamina. Rinse & repeat.

A buddy did that on our shared world when a serpent destroyed our boat. The serpent then ate me but left him alone. He didn't want to wait for me to get back to him. Obviously it took a while so I actually almost reached him right after he got to shore (we were in the ocean biome).

I think one of the problems in the game is that you need leather scraps to build a raft. But they are only droppen by boars, living in the meadows. The other ships require more advanced crafting stations. Now imagine getting stuck on an island without 1. a meadows and 2. a plains. You won't be able to make a raft. You won't be able to make a portal either, because you need fine wood. Now, what are you actually going to do?

A month ago I died in the snowy mountains (a pack of wolves came running after me). A rebirth point was set up nearby, but I couldn't get to my corpse because I was dying of cold. And after an hour of useless attempts to reach the corpse, the idea came to me to use this method. As a result, I managed to pick up my things and I began to act more carefully.))

(I'm sure I'm not the first person to find this but I've never heard anyone speak about it)Here's something I just learned on the console release for valheim, my friends and I use my world to mess around and test things with commands, glitches etc. We found out the cart can do more than act as mobile storage. It floats, you can actually walk on it while it's nearly submerged and "swim" as far as you want without burning any stamina. You can also bring one onto your ship with a ramp to act as a life raft lol. It's pretty much useless but im sure you could exploit it even more somehow.

@nickrawcliffe looking at the swimming with the corpse run effect, you can do a bunny hop with the corpses so it helps reduce the amount of time to set it back up all of the tombstones. imagine in this next example that each of these letters are a tomb stone example A - pick up corpse run B - skip body C - Pick up corpse run D - skip body E - Pick up corpse run and so on and so forth. you can see in the video that when he reaches the 2nd body, he is just under half of his time remaining on the corpserun, which means he would run out just before the next body, but his health will recover by then. so maybe not so much insanity in setting this up

That's a very good question I actually don't know. I would have to test it. Having said that it does only last for 5mins then you have to wait 15mins so it wouldn't make that much of difference for the huge ocean cross but perhaps when using it for a short corpse swim you may be on to something. However, I've never tested it while swimming.
