Days Gone did the Biker in a Zombie Apocalypse thing. It was ok.

A suit of armour would be great, if you can find one which fits you, but those things are heavy! I love medieval armour, but it might be overkill against unarmed zombies. You need to balance agility against protection with zombies. If they can successfully chase you down, they're probably going to pull you apart. You only need to be armoured enough to resist the occasional bite, bruise, or scratch. Leather is good for this. Canvas is also good. Also, medieval armour requires a lot of maintenance. That's partly why knights had squires. You probably won't have an opportunity, or the resources, to keep a suit of steel plate in good condition in a post-apocalyptic scenario. I will be back next time for more zombie-fighting facts!

Turnouts offer better protection than biker gear, plus you get to look like a firefighter. In the event of a zombie apocalypse I recommend going to your local fire station to pick up an outfit

I think biker's gear is still optional. It's tough enough to prevent you getting skinned alive sliding across the tarmac at whatever legal speed you were traveling at, so perfectly adequate against a bite, while still being light amd flexible enough to not hinder mobility.

I think it depends on your role as a survivor. Someone who runs and scouts would greatly benefit from lighter clothes like a tank top and jeans. Something easy to run and gun with and not able to be grabbed. The more shit you wear, the more likely you can be grabbed by a monster.

Lol you remind me strongly of Russell Brand... (also because of high intelligence + rationality married with compassion, genuinely funny and doesn't take life too seriously) ... but mostly the fearless IDGAF authenticity. Modern societies suffer from 'taboo of soul'... "fear enforces confirmity, love nurtures diversity" (me). Your radical authenticity continues to inspire 😅

Also, regular old firearms will damage your ears over time without protection cuz of how loud they are, slowly compromising a crucial survival sense, so quiet weapons like crossbows are a good long term investment.

You'd also cut your hair, no one in an Apocalypse would have hair past the shoulder.

There is properly gear for body protection not being made out of metal.

Wear body armour and have a long range weapon like a baseball back or katana. Also TWK there are biker gangs

There are humongous stockpiles of petroleum, especially if the population is massively reduced. The amount isn't the problem. The problem is that it would go bad after a couple of years, eventually becoming near-useless. Killer Bikers would have a good beginning, but eventually be replaced by Death-Cyclists.

I can build a castle and I know martial arts is this enough?

@@Luckmann maybe you live in USA where you have guns, and guns do have a massive advantage compared to hand to hand combat, and by martial arts I mean (Greco-roman wrestling/Sambo) and Kickboxing. It is very useful against people. Against zombies it was a joke lool, I won't grapple something that bites and doesn't die.

Get some swords.

Biker gang leather clothing will obviously be helpful too. But let's be real, it's kind of like the character Lara Croft from 'Tomb Raider'... when your target audience is in large part horny young males, low cut tops as clothing choice for female characters becomes more a function of financial imperative than creative discretion or choice 😒😂 To be fair, asuit of armour will slow you down and the most dangerous zombies are super fast 🤔 in conclusion, the biker gang hypothesis seems optimal. Doesn't hurt that they often carry weapons anyway.

I mean Lara Croft mostly does her adventuring in hot climates so her clothing makes sense for the environment. She’s also meant to be a larger than life character which explains why she’s so beautiful & badass
