@@MelissaBennett are you in the US? You might get away with shipping your mugs first class if you don't do any sort of box (which significantly increases the chance of it breaking). Sadly, with a box and even minimal bubble wrap, 11oz mug weighs over 15 oz (16.5 oz is the best I managed). That would bump you up to priority which could be as high as $11 across the country (with etsy/shopify discounts). Might be cheaper if you're somewhere in the middle (I'm in cali so shipping to east coast is expensive). Experiment with different blank mugs. Some might be lighter than others... I've only tried 1 brand so far. Thinner cardboard box might cut some weight too but you risk damaging during shipping (same as the flat rate envelope or first class without a box which make it right around 15oz) All that said, mugs do sell... just don't expect it to pay all the bills unless you're selling hundreds every day. Best advice is to sell a set (3-4). That way you can ship them in a flat rate box and make a decent profit (and even offer free shipping).

When I got the inks and paper from ink experts they said to use an ICC profile, but they don't offer one for mac. Do you use an ICC? Did you try the cactus wraps + oven method? A friend of mine suggested it, it seems you can get very close to the handle, in fact you are required to touch the handle with both sides of the paper before block it with tape and then with cactus wrap (which has to be tightened with a screwdriver before baking). I know the process is probably slower than your press but in the oven you can bake many cups at one time so, at the end, I guess the numeric result should be about the same :-)

Is the current machine you use a good one then? I've seen in previous videos you used others, so which overall is the best?

Thank you for the great video. So can you not use your epson 7750 for normal prints any more because you use it for sublimation inks?

nope! you would have to have a seperate printer, because they are installed with sublimation inks which print faded and are no good for artwork

Thank you for sharing! I have just started watching your videos and love your energy! Curious if you would mind sharing if you have considered drop shipping. I know you sell a lot of inventory and have additional help just wondered if you considered this and wouldn’t mind sharing why perhaps you didn’t go that route? I’m starting a business soon and this is something that I’m stuck at. Which way of providing my goods. Either making & shipping myself or drop shipping them. Thanks for considering! Sending 💗

It’s such a satisfying process, I love it!!☺️ how do you make sure your designs don’t bleed on the bottom or top of the mug. I have found that if my design was the exact same as yours, the bottom centimetre or so would be blurry. Do you know how to stop this? Thank you in advance xx

question: is there anyway you can not have the title of your video auto-translated?? The translations really suck. In swedish this titel now says How you printing out mugs with sublimation. And they used the wrong form of printing ontop of that. So really bad in swedish . So if there is a way to not auto translate the title is it possible to do it?? I understand that some people like the texting option on the video and don't know if the titel then also auto translate?

:') Oh gosh the only way I would be able to do it is if I hired different language translators :') cause i dont know how to speak swedish, I might convert it back to english, then just keep the auto translated captions on? :') I literally spent ages doing this too haha oopsie :')

@@KatnippStudios oh sorry!! :D It's just the auto translation of titles are 99% horrible. I never have texting on for videos so no clue how bad they are. yes, if you can have the title still in english that would be awesome. .. and I could teach you some Swedish but then you'll have all the other languages too :P maybe a challenge for 2022, how many languages can you learn in a year :D

I wanted to ask since I'm starting out with sublimation does your ink gass off and smell once you press your mug? Mine does emit an odor so I was wondering if yours does too?

Hi. We do subli mugs using the same press as in the video. We definately get a smell which could be described as fish with a hint of rubber. We assumed this was the press rather than the inks.

@@lynneherrick5255 Yes - that is definitely the smell :) I was told it's the ink heating up - I use a different mug press than what Catherine uses. I was suprised by the smell as no one really talks about it - so when I started subliminting I was taken off guard.
