HOW TO STRIP EGGS FROM AFRICAN CICHLIDS | My process of artificial tumbling

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

In this weeks video we look at my method of artificially tumbling african cichlid fry/eggs in the Tinisky Egg tumbler (LINK BELOW), as well as talking about some of the benefits of this method.
The first step is to identify the holding female. For a female to hold the breeding process must first occur. Check out my video on that HERE: • African Cichlids Breed...
Once breeding has occurred the female, in the wild will hold the eggs in her mouth while they develop, usually for about 20-30 days. As stated in the video, if she still feels the fry may be harmed after that time she still may retrieve them back into her mouth for safety. This is both stressful & incredibly taxing on the female as she may not eat during this time.
This is why African Cichlid Egg Tumbler is now a common occurrence among breeders as it gives the female a chance to eat again after a period of about 7 days once you have stripped her of the fry. This method helps to keep the breeding mother healthy which is a huge positive.
The fry will be kept in the tumbler gently rocking until their egg sacks have gone. I will then move them to either a fry tank or a breeder net so they can begin to eat normal food such as crushed up fish flake & algae wafers.

Adam Langley I feed them algae wafers & then pellets once they are big enough. I like the wafers as they can feed on them over a decent period of time while I'm out etc👍🏻 thanks for watching man
