Cichlids Breeding Everywhere in the Fish Room!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Today's video shows three different aquariums with cichlids breeding. I currently have two large display tanks, as well as a fish room setup with more cichlid aquariums, and it was awesome to see three tanks have breeding happening all at once.
There's been a lot of things happening with the aquariums lately, and there's even more to come soon. Can't wait to share more coming soon!

    I love the eb acaras. Same thing happened to me lol. My electric blue acaras did the same to me. They breeded in my 40 gal breeder community fishtank. I moved them to my 20 gal breeder and the fry are nice and healthy.

    My acaras had babies. I kept one for my 65 galon. Seeing them grow is amazing. Also my shell dwellers went crazy. I started with 6 and have now like 30 in my 33 gal long. I have had to sell like 10 because if not i would have had like 40 and like you said would be over populated lol.

    Cool. I keep tank dividers of all sizes around so when I see eggs I just install the divider to separate all fish from the eggs and parents. So no need for a separate tank. Works great.

    Hi, Great videos. You mentioned you have hard water which is good for African cichlids. What do you do to get soft water for your central and South American cichlids? Thanks

  • @CichlidBros

    @CichlidBros

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! I don’t have ideal tank parameters for South Americans, but they still thrive/breed without issues. I believe it’s more important to keep ammonia/nitrite/nitrate in check more than chasing PH/Hardness

    Just got my first set of Cichlid mixed tank. I think one of the female convicts is pregnant as they were a pair in a tank. I put her in and the other pair was kind of picking on her so moved he to the 10, does the male have to be with her?

    Hope your Geophagus Tapajos can raise fry. Mine have been breeding a lot in the past months, but the eggs disappear the next day, and I have not seen any fry at all, so I guess they eat the eggs. In my case I have 2 males and 6 females, and the females seem to get very competitive and do not allow the breeding pair to care for the eggs. Might have to prepare a separate tank for a pair

  • @CichlidBros

    @CichlidBros

    My Oscar’s spawned last night. Should I move the eggs to a grow out tank or let the parents take care of them. I purchased a kit to hatch brine shrimp for them once the egg sack is absorbed.

    I got convict cichlids that breed like crazy, had to take 2nd batch out or they'd be overruning my 65gallon tank!! There are after about ~6 weeks time 4-7 of the little ones still alive, saw 7 about a week ago but only ~4 lately, but they might be hiding around, their 2nd batch was inside a lamp decoration that i removed and took eggs away or i dunno, looks like they might set a 3rd batch soon!!!
