All you have to do is put your bobbin on the wooden peg first then put the spool of thread on top of the bobbin on the peg.

I love, love, love watching these kinds of organisational videos. Took the day off sick from work today because I had a migraine up until about 11am from when I woke up at 8am. So starting noon been watching these kinds of videos. Only thing, my machine uses boat bobbins not the standard ones, so I'm not sure how practical this is for me. Still here with my coffee though :D

So crafty! Recently I purchased clips for bobbins and the piece that holds the bobbin and is placed within the matching thread spool. It really helps to keep threads that may be close in color separated. Your video has given me a great idea of what to give my daughter...she’s been busy making masks lately on the Bernina I gave her. Perhaps getting her several colors of thread and a sewing kit would top it off! 🤗

My absolute favorite method is to use a straw on a spool rack; this makes it easy to keep both items together and I don’t need to use 2 hands with placing thread on the rack, or removing the spools and/or bobbin from the rack. I also use silicone hose cut to width and slit to slide on the bobbin to keep the thread from coming unwound.

This is such a great comparison video for bobbin storage methods! Seeing the large Bernina bobbins with the clips is particularly useful. Not all thread topper bobbin holders work for them, so it was nice to see the comparisons, and see one actually used with the style that worked for it. AND I hadn't come across the JUMBO bobbin holder previously, so that is positively GLORIOUS! Thank you!!! =)

Thanks for a great info video :) I mostly use the tried and true bobbin box. Each of my machines uses a different bobbin, so boxes are marked with machine name and model. FW metal bobbins stay right in case with machine. Embroidery machines bobbins stay with them also. If I ever get them mixed up...no one in family can help lol.

I used hair rollers, 1 dollar from dollar tree store, the one that has some kind of velcro on it for your hair, I take the velcro off the rollers and slit the roller one side open and slip them around my thread to keep thread in from loose just like I did tube for bobbin.

I know this is almost a year old video but I want to say I like the donut setup with the glass in the middle because you can put another donut on top portion of the glass. Maybe there is something you use often in the glass and just attaching a donut at the top of the glass shouldn't interfere with getting to it. Since the bobbins fit snuggly in the donut you can turn the glass over to get to something inside without the bobbins falling out. I really like that.

I use the Aurifil containers to hold the spool and bobbin. If both the thread spool and the bobbin do not fit I use one of the outside compartments and place the bobbin in the middle section. If you have two contrasting threads and bobbins, I use the the outside compartments and combine the bobbins in the middle row.

I also recommend you ask your local florist for the flower nets. When flowers come into a shop, some of them have nets keeping the blooms closed. When the flowers are processed (trimmed, and net removed) most florists throw those nets out. Mine has a box under her table and saves them for me. When it's full, she calls me!!

I had some plastic tubes that I got from hospital. They were brand new and they were going to catheter empty urine bag but it was never used, so I ask if I can have it. I cut several pieces wide enough even with the bobbin and slice it one side open and slip it around my bobbin so thread won't loosen out. It really keep thread in and you can see what color thread. Be careful with box knife as I accident cut myself once. The tubes were just right, not to soft or too stiff.
