Hi Terry, another great video. Bladder in drinking water quality for the lc200 Footewell is 105 ltr with the hump cut off. Bought one the other day from them on Special. Missing the Sand filter, to buy next time. Small tip make a small cage around the filter that he sits up from the ground. Kept the sunny side up and safe trips. Cheers

Brilliant Terry, I have been waiting for this one for a while. I reckon I won't have time to put the shower setup together before the Gibb River Road trip, so more likely afterwards. I use a 50 litre tank that sits behind the second row of seats and in front of the drawers. I have another 20 litres on the TyreTrek wheel carrier, and I reckon I will use that for the shower solution in the short term. Great stuff mate! I use the same garden attachment but have never used the mist setting always the shower setting, a great idea! I don't have a hot water unit and between my girl and I, in the middle of winter in the outback I reckon we use a litre combined lol, cold water keeps showers nice and short. Great video Terry.....again. You just seem to keep them coming at such a great quality. Was it a hard decision to go the heat exchanger over a bucket that you fill with hot water? Also... my rear jerry holder does not allow you to remove the jerry if a tap is installed. One of the other youtubers demoed his method using hose through the top of the jerry and siphon it out. May apply to otters also.

As you may have gathered I’m all about simplicity and the least effort possible when camping. For that reason alone it works brilliantly for me. I get so much out of your videos and this one is no exception so thankyou for posting them as I know their production is no simple affair. I have just purchased the Glind original and in reading their instructions they advise not to put the pump behind the bull bar as it is not a sealed unit and is susceptible to water crossings etc. I was wondering given your experience to date would you be happy to reinstall the pump as you have done currently if doing it again? Also given it is coolant running through the exchanger, and and again mounting it low has yours suffered many stone chips or other nicks ? Thanks again

Thanks John, you are very kind with your words and I really appreciate that. I have never had my pump fail. I was under the impression the pump was IP65 rated (I could be mistaken) and therefore able to withstand water ingress. I also have a friend with the pump located in the same position and he has had no issues as well. We recently completed a Cape trip and had the pump submerged on countless crossings, never missed a beat. The exchanger is mounted inside the bull bar and above the bash plates. It has never suffered any strikes in this location. I would happily place both the pump and exchanger in the same location if I were to do it again. Thanks for watching 😎👍

I'm glad you got some ideas out of this, that is the sole reason for me sharing and spending the time putting these videos together (as I do not make any money from this, nor am I trying to). You don’t need the engine running to run the pump or have a shower, but if it is not running it will simply be a cold shower. Once the engine is running and engine coolant is flowing, the water heats up. I’ll give an example I shared with another viewer that may help explain. Let’s say I’m in public campground with lots of other campers (shudder). If I want a shower after tea and don’t want to run my car and disturb everyone, I will heat up a jerry can of water during the day by running the engine and cycling (sucking from the jerry, travelling through the heat exchanger, then delivering back into the jerry). I can heat up a 20 litre jerry can to hot status in 5 minutes or so. That jerry can will hold the heat for hours and when I’m ready to have my shower in the evening, I just run the shower without starting the car and no one gets pissed off with an engine idling. In this scenario, the water temperature can be adjusted by the length of time you cycle the water. Longer time cycling, the hotter it gets (and you can get it to the same temp as the engine (80C) if you cycle long enough. Alternatively, if you are running the motor and sucking cold water from the jerry can, through the exchanger and then straight to the shower, the water temperature is adjusted by adjusting the engine RPM. Depending on how cold your jerry cans are, idle delivers shower water at around 30C up to hotter than you can bear at around 1800 RPM. I trust that makes sense mate. Again, thanks for watching Ben. The solar shade is a home made jobby mate and so simple it’s probably not worth a video ( but will keep that in mind, thank you). I just got one of those windscreen shades from Supercheap Auto (the cheapest I could find), traced the window pattern on it and then cut it out with a pair of scissors. I then went around the edges with some silver duct tape to seal them up. Then I used a bunch of small pieces of double sided tape to stick to the back windscreen. It’s been in place for a few years now and never fallen off. It works a treat and cost me about 5 or ten bucks total. Good question Tom, and well spotted mate. Cheers😎👍

I thought Glind recommended ensuring the pump is located high to prevent contact with water. I loved your video though, there aren’t many people out there with this brilliant bit of kit fitted.

Thanks for the kind words, I sincerely appreciate it. Never have it getting too hot. One your 80, it’s even less of a change because it has a manual heater value. You can shut the hot water flow down to nothing using the temperature control on your cabin heater on the dash. Cheers😎👍

I bought mine from Glind when I purchased my shower pump and heat exchanger. They sell them individually as well for $148.50 on glind.com.au. I'm sure I have seen them at camping stores like BCF as well. Cheers

Mate the GVM is so crappy on the 200 that planting my fat backside into the drivers seat would likely put it over😂. The second row seats are out which weigh 50kg each or so and that helps, but poor payload is the reality of the 200. I’m not interested in going down the road of increasing the GVM at this stage.
