Ironing pages! That's a great idea! I have a few books with dented pages. Great clip. More news and rumours would also be great!

@@MikeRollerson I tried it this morning on a heavy book which had been dropped (by the delivery person) onto a corner leading to all the pages in that corner being "bent" wven when the book is closed. Had the heat on around 80% of the dial, used that brown baking paper, pressed hard, and first time it worked well though the paper was a bit "bent" (what's the word for his) around the iron - I think it was too hot. Tried it around 30-50% heat, pressed hard and it works VERY well. The pages are back to new, and I used it on the crumpled hardcover edges to smooth them out. Recommended, though start with a lower heat.

Thank you for all of the detailed answers, this is great to hear! Most of my books are very oversized but standing up (with a few exceptions). Going to look into getting felt or microfiber cloths to put under the pages to hopefully take some pressure off of the spine/binding. Thank you again for all of the helpful answers!

Some suggestions for your next Book Cast: 1. Show some picture of your shelves. I'd like to see what you described in this particular video. 2. A discussion on how the pandemic lockdown has affected coffee table book sales. I assume people are buying more coffee table books because they've been stuck inside. 3. I don't know if you've already discussed this: For serious book collectors, do you recommend buying two copies of a book (one for reading, another for keeping in shrink wrap)?
