A short detailed very well done video. Folks, as a 73 year old archer I will say if you follow these suggestions carefully with commitment you can overcome shot anxiety. It will take several hundred shots at least. One thing is to never give in a punch, just let down. Something that will eventually happen, it may take many weeks and hundreds and hundreds of shots is your brain will take over the firing sequence. It’s called “ shot timing”. This is simply that AFTER the pin has settled down into the smallest float pattern that you individually can achieve the shot will break without any conscious thought to make the shot. Thousands of arrows have ingrained into your brain the time to fire. You have one job in reality and that is to focus only on the spot you intend to put that arrow. You will need to have learned great form and have your bow set up to fit you. It’s all about YOU TAKING CONTROL in your mind and then of the entire process from your feet positioning and the rest of the shot cycle. Like he said start by shooting at like 10 yards at a five inch dot. This ingrains in your brain that you CAN fire a shot and prove you can hit a spot you picked out. You are basically fooling your brain to begin eliminating anxiety.👍👍

Appreciate your awesome feedback, thanks so much. 💪🏼🙏🏼💪🏼 I think I should look at a video diving into all the drills. This video was like a “quick” fix but archers know there isn’t such a thing.

One other thing that has helped me is focusing on the target and not the pin. It's the idea that the target is in focus and the pin is blurry.

Get a real trigger release, that wraps around your wrist. Let the strap carry the weight of the draw. Then do what military snipers do: move just your ‘trigger finger’ and release the arrow. Eastern European shooters are already doing this in increasing numbers.

It is an alternative definitely 💯 I just prefer a hand held release. Where we hunt we also deal with a lot of poachers, so I need to be able to drop all archery equipment and move to my side arm with no interference. Poachers in SA are heavily armed and engage with out warning ❗️ But guys like Joe rogan and Cameron Hanes are extremely accurate with Wrist strap releases at further distances so definitely agree with you 😁

So sorry for the delayed response. So in my mind it’s one of two things: 1. A form of target panic 2. Muscle fatigue I would recommend bringing that target in to 5 yards, it must literally look massive(can’t miss ever) kind of massive. Put no target or indicator that you must aim at, you just want to shoot the butt. If you still shaking, then it’s physiological. Hitting the gym targeting the muscle groups that work when pulling a bow could help but I would go resistance training on those areas rather than pumping weights. I’m launching my website in December helping Archers and hunters with Archery training, physical training and then gear advice 🫡💪🏼🙏🏼

Sorry for taking so long to reply, we were filming our next big KZread video this weekend. 3 day survival with no food or water, just the bow. They called Quattro stabilisers. I could vouch they are one of the best a bow Hunter could have. Made in South Africa however his clientele is mostly states based💪🏼💪🏼 quattroarchery.com/

Watch the Aim but focus on execution. Also no one wants to hear this because they suck here’s the SECRET: Start doing let down drills tons of them. Get into your shot then let down. Make a clock face & aim on all the numbers then let down. Torture yourself but you’ll come out so much better once you can dominate & control your shot. When you letdown say out loud “ I decide when I shoot”! Your programming your brain to not let the float bother you! Do let down drills the rest of your natural life.

Love it love it love it 🙏🏼🙏🏼 the only reason I didn’t put let down drills in, is because I hurt my shoulder with let down drills. But if we being honest there’s no better way to build the “I’m in control” mindset than let down drills. You’re spot on 💪🏼
