How To Stop Smoking Weed And Why (This will Change Your life!)

First I quit smoking weed, and only ate weed to get high. Then I quit that too, and it was a great decision.
Quitting weed in a time that it’s becoming more accepted and respected might make you feel a little unsure at first, but there are some very solid reasons to end your weed addiction, and I share mine here.

For me, getting high became like being completely alone in your own mind. At 1st it was fun, but the longer I did it, the more I felt I was completely isolating myself. I think you'll get your appetite back and sleep better eventually if you quit, but it does take some adjustment time.

Just thought I would comment as the partner of an addicted spouse for over 27 years. It literally stole from me a marriage due to his inability to be intimate on every level. It robbed our 4 children of an engaged father. My children always knew when he smoked and his mood swings. The past 6 years have been the worst as it has now made him impotent and he is fine with it because he loves weed way more than he ever loved me. PLEASE stop and develop who you are emotionally and spiritually without substances that heavily affect your brain chemistry and the straight people in relationships with YOU! Your private sin does not just affect you it affects all of the people around you who love you! Jesus most of all loves you and wants you addicted to Him only! it’s too late for me but you can change! God bless!

But little do people know, I've been smoking probably about 8 Joints a day for 5 years and it's completed halted my progress and self development in life. I’m only 21 years young but smoked my first at age 12 and started smoking heavy at age 16 until age 19 very very heavy. I quit early on because I knew my potential. What helped me is my dad and I moved states and I had no more weed friends and no connect to buy. That helped me . That first year I put on 40 pounds of pure muscle. A discipline you usually get going to the army. I ate like a body builder. Very strict. No soda . No chips. No candy. They may sound hard but it wasn’t for me. I relapse thoe and what made me relapse what saying to myself “I’m sure I can do it occasionally” and also tough times in life. That was never the case. I relapsed about 4 time sustain my two years of wanting to quit. This was my last relapse and never plan on going back. I feel high on life. I feel at the moment . Simply just great. I started my business. My KZread Chanel. And I started packing on some good weight again.!!! If I want to quit. Quit!!! It is not impossible

I'm afraid you have to become more do-er and less watch-er, if you know what I mean. Weed is good to make you enjoy time while _doing_ nothing. So you have to start doing things. Draw, cook, study, exercise and write. Instead of sitting on the couch, maybe go bowling, hiking or go and take pictures of things you find interesting. Do things and improve yourself.

I know exactly how you feel. Unfortunately I felt the same way for way to long in my life. I smoked regularly everyday for about 20 yrs started when I was 13 I'm now 35. My best advice is force yourself to stop for at least 5 months. Give your body a chance to refresh feel what life is like without it again. The habit doesn't go away overnight just like it didn't develop overnight but you will get better with time, you should notice some positive changes around the 2 month mark, and it only gets better from there. You can do it! Good luck to you hope this helps.

probably the best video on why to quit smoking or using marijuana.. when you’re a teenager it’s fun and “different” kinda like a whole new life experience but you are so spot on with your points and how it can become excuse to be less productive and to be free from your stress with the real world. i like to live life like if i was still in my child-like mindset, being in tune with what’s around me and taking life for granted even if i’m stressed.

This was so meaty and rich with depth and because it's a psychedelic drug it needs to be explained in a psychedelic way. I totally understood when you mentioned about feelings we don't get when we are high. I had quit this thing for a couple years and ran into a really stressful situation, I had a friend of mine mention it (it's always around me, I cant get away from it) and convinced myself to just buy a dime bag, this was 7months ago and while a joint will last me a few days, I'm still smoking every day when I get off of nightshift and have been for 6 to 6 months now, also smoking on my off days here and there. I'm right back to where I started. It seems to have a little hold over me at the moment. However, I will push forward and kill this thing once and for all. Not to mention dreams will come back (we never dream when we are high) our bodies are operating normally when we dream. Something to think about.

Sleeping is difficult still and I'm having depression, but now I drink chamomile 6-7 cups a day and it helps me sleep a lot. My motivation is barely starting to come back this week. Brain fog is still present at times. I lost all social skills, but hopefully I go back to normal soon. All this is true in the vid though 👍🏼

flower-sheets88-Dude...same thing happened to me.one night, hung over and a bit stoned when all of a sudden,bang-heavy breathing, cold sweats, loss of movement and pins and needles down arms and legs, thought I was having a heart attack.Had every test know to man done 4 times, told it was a reall bad anxiety attack.quit for nine years.slowley built up my tolerance for it by only having a small puff after a few beers.now smoking again.this helped me to understand anxiety(its all in your head) and have now trained myself and my brain on how to deal with then,(keeping extremely busy, anything no matter how strange it is to take your mind off the attack.best thing that ever happened to me.haven,t hada attack in years no matter how much I smoke. the most important thing to rememberis its ALL IN YOUR HEAD.this is wat the doctor will tell you.i know its hard to understand at first, but once you have delt with your first attack successfully,by yourself, and with out going to hospital..then you will understand what I,m saying.moderation is the key to any drug.

+Amber Fowler The truth about the herb is that what it gives with one hand, it takes with the other, with interest. It makes you a slave and steels your energy, and when you come to realize this law of nature, you no longer know how to function without it. Well put! I've been smoking for 40 years, have recognized for a long time that I'm psychologically addicted. Have built in long breaks because of that to recalibrate and get back to health and normalcy, knowing I'd pick it up again and accepted that cycle as the cost of doing business. This time around am strongly considering quitting for good, so have listened to half dozen other testimonials. This one nails it for me, well done, Sir! Thank you for sharing your story.

Y’all will succeed in giving it up. Weed is thankfully not the most harmful substance to the body and detoxing from it while still a challenge is much less extreme than other substances. Just continue on until you begin to remember the feels of life before you tried weed. If your still using the substance rn you’ll underestimate how much you’ve truly forgotten about your past life and the feels that we’re attached to it. It’s hard to describe the moment when you’ve given it up for awhile and this unbelievably familiar feeling comes back and surprises the living shit out of you. At first you’ll feel like you almost lost your past self and your just glad to have it back but it’s never going to be too late to transition back to your pure form, it just might take longer for the full transition to take place the longer you’ve been away from it thus stopping now is the fastest way to become reacquainted with your beautiful intelligent creative self you always knew you were

It has removed the lathergy to move forward in my career..funny thing is, I wasn't even that aware of how much I was missing.. just sort of knew it was time. As a music producer I always had this idea that weed was the key to tapping into my best creative self.. couldn't be further from the truth! You don't have to completely cut out the things you love. Same as junk food or whatever, just moderate and try not to do things compulsively and 24/7. Take a 1-2 week break to bring down your tolerance that saves money and makes it more enjoyable. Like people on diets they cut out all sugar treats to begin with but they will likely cave back into old habits after a couple of months. If you really want out you'll get out but if it's too hard for you I think a part of you really loves it, so don't torture yourself too much. Be reasonable but also take your pleasures where you can in life 😘

I have a theory about weed, weed makes you feel good, feeling good all the time is bad, people getting a stronger mind when they have resistance when they have issues and they try to deal with them, if you solve all issues by weed your mind tolerance become weak , like body muscles don't grow or become weak if you don't have resistance on them if you use weed, you should not do it for the immediate pleasure of for the external world, you should NOT try to do it to resolve your depression or sadness immediately when they occur but try your best to deal with them, if you cant sleep at night don't sleep at night, the way to use weed is INDIRECTLY, meaning , wake up at 4 am in the morning consume your weed and go back to bed without eating anything without consuming any content, when you wake up later the weed high effect should be out of your body, but the effect on the rest of the day should be good. you should do it only on the weekend. that is the recipe PS: don't consume diff strains, choose one and go with it, if you want to change a strain, make sure that the old one is out of your body, meaning don't consume for 2 weeks. we are the host of the cannabis (flower) like the movie VENOM , and the flower don't like sharing the HOST (us)

EVERYTHING you are saying is sooo spot on. First time i saw this video I wanted to wrap my last nugget in a kilo of duck tape. I wanted to trap it the way it trapped me and leave it in some dark place, the way it left me. But then I realized, my brain is just playing another MANIPULATIVE GAME to keep it, to keep the feeling, to keep false memories, so i flushed it. The thing about distorted memories hit me so hard man, because its so true. I smoked basically daily for past 7 years, and it pretty much destroyed me. I wanted to be a physicist, I still want that, but it kept me away from my dream because I was basically cognitively impaired by it, brain fog kept me away from life in general, let alone complex calculations I needed to do. I always found excuses, Richard Feynman smoked, I'll have new insights etc. etc.But the truth is, it created an aura around me, aura of not giving a f&&k about anything, it acted as a spiritual and psychological sedative or suppressor. That aura WILL NOT let you to see yourself and your goals clearly. Its crazy how insidious it is. It will make you live a HALF LIFE, with UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES (gamers will resonate) that will destroy you when you see them clearly. I respect you so much for this, and for saying that "smoking sometimes" is NOT okay once you jumped on an addiction train, because it is a trap, and I have fallen in it HUNDREDS of times. Once I quit for 8 months, thought lets do it one time again, just for fun, then 3 years passed while stoned... I tried lots of things, nothing posed a problem (even f$c(ing ketamine), except for god damned weed. Too long, I started to vent out here, sorry. Thank you man, peace and love from F&$C/INg Bosnia and Herzegovina (problem reaches that far). P.S. Your kid rocks the piano :)

After a year of smoking every day multiple times a day, I fount myself way to dependent on it, wether I could eat, sleep, be happy, and just being able to to enjoy myself and what I’m doing all depended on if I was high or not. After I stopped, about a week after I found myself much happier, sleeping better, and found that weed was no longer even on my mind.

Cortney P I've also been smoking heavy for 6 years and I'm now on day 16 of quitting. My health has started to suffer in the last year, which I'm convinced is due to my heavy smoking. High blood pressure, nose bleeds and constant migraines. I do believe cannabis is a medicine but not the way I've abused it. I also believe that my mental health is suffering due to living in my spaced out bubble,I just can't seem to do life anymore. Anyways I've decided enough is enough and I'm now a non smoker as far as I'm concerned now. Good luck with your addiction, I hope you manage to turn you back on it. The daily stone-overs and head fuzz have rendered me useless until mid afternoon and that has done nothing to help my business grow the way I want it to. The cons have now outweighed the pros and I'm 4 days into sobriety. I have sprung out of bed each morning hours before the usual norm and already have way more clarity of mind than I can remember. Tonight I really struggled with the cravings but this video definitely helped. That and a joint shaped tobacco only cigarette..its not perfect but it's a start, right?

Just because there's no physical addiction doesn't mean shit boy, there's no physical addiction to porn, or food, videogames, the meaning of a physical addiction is that your body needs it in order not to die, a lot of drug addictions when first started are non physical addictions, so your point doesn't mean shit, people don't see xans as that bad, but you take them for a while and suddenly stop, you can get brain damage from seizeures and die

@Maxime Desforges 2 years isn't shit, and 2 weeks isn't even that long of a quitting time, what mental issues? Because weed is definitely addictive, anything that gives you pleasure and releases happy chems in your brain, is addictive, it's as simple as that, same for food, movies, games, sex so on so on

Thanks for your perspective. I am on day one of quitting the herb after a little over 5 years of daily smoking. I picked it back up after retiring from the military and initially used it for physical and emotional pain control. I don't remember the withdrawals being so bad as a teenager but its doing a number on me and I have to get past it. Of the dozens of video I've watched on this subject, you really hit home why I feel I need to make a change. Thanks again.

The best way to quit (if you're having trouble quitting) is to take a two week vacation to someplace where you don't have access to it.

@Metal Mystic You have to go someplace where you have zero access to it. And delete your connects numbers. It worked for me...after 7 years of smoking and numerous times trying to quit.

@Metal Mystic I live in Michigan and it's medically legal. But ANYBODY (18 or older) with $120 and a complaint of headaches, back pain, trouble sleeping or eating can get a medical marijuana card. I had a medical marijuana card when I faked back pain. Too easy. The dispensaries...I just ignore them or avoid them. How many years have you been smoking? Were you smoking everyday sun up to sun down or only a few times a week? And about how many grams per day? So many factors.

No one is gonna care for you more than you. You have to be your own best friend. What helped me was knowing that taking the easy way out of things is just that, easy. Do what is hard. Start small. Make it one day, then a week, etc. anyone can get drunk or high. I wanna do things that take strength and determination. Even if you get on a roll temptation will always be around. You must learn to identify it and stay centered.

All these problems what marijuana brings to your life, lack of energy/motivations etc. It all comes down to the _person_ using the drug. All these associations we have are made by us, made by our thoughts into our memory and experience. I feel like when you see and observe this movement of thought and all these thoughts associated you can actually get rid of all the "problems" and have all the energy you need to achieve whatever it is you want. I honestly believe the cause of these psychological problems is not the plant, but the user. The user is the Core and whatever is going on in the core, all the emotions life situation etc. are getting amplified By the drug, the drug is like Input to your Core.

While this may be subjectively true relative to the individual, it doesn't remove any of the objective effects of marijuana on the brain. Which begs the question even if you are motivated enough to do these things are you as effective at them as you would be if you were sober beyond withdrawal? Are you crashing your dopamine receptors? Since dopamine encourages motivation It's important to know if this habit is wreaking more damage then it is helping you. Is it worth it to feed into something for the illusion of relaxation?

  • @391C

Indeed it is really important to know if the habit is wreaking more damage than it is helping you, knowing and seeing what substances are doing to you, and seeing the thoughts it is bringing to your mind is important in order to use the substance correctly
