Thank you so much Josi. It's been two months since I started my skin care routine ever. I'm 38 and I have been doing nothing, and one of my new year's resolutions was to take care of my skin. Before I started I did my research and I found you. What I can say is that all is going well I started with Retinol right away when I started but the respect I have for that treatment is on another level, and bcos of that I haven't experienced any side effect at all, now I'm applying every other night and It's going well. What I got from u is that you preach moisturising so much and I'm big in moisturising like that. My challenge is getting a sunscreen that is kind to my eyes, joooo I have L'Oréal and Nivea they are not doing justice, but I will keep on trying other brands bcos trying products is the name of this game. Once more thank you and all the best.

Hello there xx Thank you so much for your explanation but now I’m a bit confused. I’m currently treating hyperpigmentation as well as trying to fix my skin barrier. My skincare person recommend Tretinoin 0.05%. It’s my first time using it and I’ve a dry skin. She recommended that I use it every other day but twice in a week, however, after cleansing and toning, I was told to go in with Tretinoin, then hydroquinone( because I’m treating hyperpigmentation) and then go in with my moisturizer. The side effects i’ve experienced so far is peeling, dryness ( so I’ve had to double up with my moisturizer. I also never forget to wear sunscreen during the day) and lately it’s been rashes. I noticed most people talk about peeling and not rashes so I want to know if this is normal. Also, do you think this is due to going in with Tretinoin before a moisturizer ? What do you recommend I do please ? Do I mix my moisturizer and Tretinoin like In this video or I mix the hydroquinone and Tretinoin and then go with my moisturizer to finish ? I’ll appreciate your response immensely. Hopefully you see this.

I would say please watch my other videos on Tretinoin 101. I don't know if your skin was used to tretinoin before. It never recommended to use an additional treatment ontop of tretinoin like Hydroquinone. You can use Hydroquinone on its own without tretinoin. Tretinoin is a beast... I recommend you apply moisturizer before your tretinoin because you experiencing side effects. Know that if you skin barrier is not good, your hyperpigmentation will be worse. Fix your skin barrier first, then do tretinoin. If it was your first time using tretinoin, I recommend dropping hydroquinone and use tretinoin only until your skin get used to it. Remember, when you start with hydroquinone, you have to continue... Hydroquinone is my last resort or when a case is worse. FYI: you can't fix your skin barrier and hyperpigmentation at the same time. videos to watch : Tretinoin 101 part 1: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIaVs8mSY5nalLQ.htmlsi=mDGN2pQP0XT8Yu7G skin barrier fix : kzread.info/dash/bejne/o4ONmbOtisfeqco.htmlsi=HmGGlv_AGWicHG49

Well, one thing people have to stop doing is shooting for the highest percentage that’s allowed start off low especially if you don’t have acne. There’s no point in no need for you to have 0.1% Trent knowing starting off there’s no way if you don’t have my asthma or very bad acne where you see those people it’s all over their face and on their cheeks they are the ones who need that 0.1%.

Rosehip oil is what I use. 100% Pure and natural therapeutic grade carrier oil is a natural vitamin A source. I use it it as a moisturizer on my face and neck. Being a carrier oil, you can mix it in whatever lotions or other oils you like. But, I use it directly on my face, neck and really great on my hands. Just a few drops in the palm of my hands goes a long way. Way better than those expensive chemical retinol products. Just my opinion of what works for me.

Is the order of these night time skin care routine with tretinoin correct❓I have oily skin but becomes dry after using tretinoin. 1. Cleanse face with a soothing cleanser like Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser Normal to oil skin OR La Roche Posay Purifying Cleanser For normal to oily skin. 2. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner 3. 4.Niacinamide from Ordinary 5.Hyaluronic Acid from ordinary 6.Cerave facial moisturizer lotion ultra lightweight OR Cerave Moisturizing Cream for normal to dry skin. 7.Tretinoin 0.025% 8.Moisturizer (s) same ones listed above. Is this list good or should I make changes etc? Thanks in advance. ❤

  • @marleyhill34

Yes you can put foundation on top of sunscreen. There is no best sunscreen. It depends on your skin type, how you like to apply it and what kind of finish you like. I can't put regular lotion/cream/mist SPF on my eyelids. I have to use solid stick sunscreen on my eyelids. Some people can't use chemical sunscreen so opt for a mineral sunscreen. there are matte SPF for those with very oily skin.

I am white and started using Tretinoin from Agency. When I moved up to 035% I started getting dark patches. I panicked. I only use the Tretinoin at night but I went from every other day at 025% to every day at 035%. I always apply moisturizer before applying the Tretinoin but should've stayed with every other day or every third day. I thought because I had used Retinoids for years my skin was ready for a stronger Tretinoin but obviously not. I will slow down to 2 or 3 times a week and moisturize a lot until I can build up.

May be the formulation was not ok with your skin. I think 0.35% is ok especially if you have been using it for years. Agency add other actives which can create reaction on your skin. Will make a video on why I stop using Agency

This approach is good. You have no side effects because you are taking it slow which is great. My next video will talk about different ways of using tretinoin. I think you will understand more deeply. But what you are doing is great. Just keep in mind the goal is to use it daily. But the skin need to be accustomed to it, and it may take time. If you are someone like me who started straight by using it daily every night you would see or have some side effects. But I think going slow like you do is best because you won’t inflame your skin.☺️ I hope this help. But my next video will talk about it. Plz dont miss it 😃 Thank you

@@olubanjiopeyemi1762 hi sis, I delayed this response to be sure the message was meant for me. I use the gel, exactly like the one in the thumbnail of the video. You should know though that I’ve increased the usage to daily, I used it slowly for about 3 months. Now that I use it daily, there’s a huge difference. My facial skin is peeling, gets dry but revealing a brighter skin, it sometimes get itchy too. Overall, my skin is purging but I’m liking the result. My routine: I use Simple Micellar water facial wash, dry the skin, wait a while and apply tretinoin. Sometimes, I use moisturizer after like 5 minutes, other times I don’t.

You have beautiful skin. I started my Tretinoin journey a week ago with 0.025% I guess I wanted to feel the dryness and see my skin peel to see that it's working, but nothing. My skin is mostly soft and only slightly pink with no stinging feeling. When do most people see the dryness and peeling associated with Trtinoin? Before Tretinoin I've used retinaldehyde 0.1% and just recently Differin gel. I do moisturize a lot and use sunscreen religiously every day.
