    Hi love, you’ve inspired me to start Tretinoin. It’s been a month and my dark spots from pimples are faded significantly and the hyperpigmentation is following suit. I have thicker skin on my chin too from shaving (I have pros but recently started laser treatments). I purchased a microdermabrasion pen from vanity planet and girl it exfoliates the skin soooo well. Like you can literally skin the dark skin being sloughed off. I hope this helps someone 🤞🏿To everyone on their perfect skin journey.. you are beautiful baby. Trust the process 💕

    Yeah i think her problem with "hyperpigmentation" and thickening of the skin are relation to diabetes. The areas where she gets the darker skin on her face are indicative of the disease. If you see the rest of her face is very even in comparison to the areas she had darker skin. She needs a doctor not skin care.

    Your skin looks beautiful 🌸 I started using a low dose 2 wks ago to improve the texture of my skin and large pores that have appeared since I hit 50. So far I’m loving it and only very mild irritation and I can already see the benefits as my skin is glowing already. I do have a question if that’s ok? I have been applying it on my crows feet (that appear only when I’m smiling) but I use a moisturiser first under my eyes as a buffer. Did you apply it under your eyes? I’ve been told you shouldn’t apply it in this area as skin much thinner but I’m tolerating it really well with the buffer, I’ve also been told if you do it this way do it but do it with caution. I would really value your experience and advice 😊

    Stunning as always. I have not tried tretinoin due to the N95 masks that I am required to wear for work. We have them tightly fitted which in my situation has caused rub marks & scarring on top of my cheek bones. Saw a dermatologist, was given steroid cream, and advised to apply mineral sunscreen every two hours on the effected areas. I am hoping that once my hours slow down, and my skin is able to heal that using tretinoin will help to even out my pigment. Have considered using regular zinc oxide cream on the edges of my masks. Much cheaper then the mineral sunscreen & thicker. Any thoughts? Love to all❤️❤️❤️.

    @@SherelleSaintRose Thank you, but the dermatologist was adamant about the mineral sunscreen. It's primary ingredient is zinc oxide. I was told that sun exposure will create more discoloration in the effected areas. The medical grade N95 masks in reality are respirators and have to fit very tightly. I have used them for close to 20 years, but since Covid the fitting that is required is as close to air tight as possible while on duty. Currently the areas are rather sore. I am far from alone with this problem. The steroid cream helps, but cannot be used long term. Terribly frustrating. Am curious, is tretinoin expensive in the UK & do you need a prescription. In the US a prescription is needed and it is very expensive. Thank you so much for thinking of me. ❤️❤️❤️ .

I understand it takes time to clear it but I am pushing through until the hyperpigmentation completely fades. I use tretinoin 4 times a week, the other days I use a serum that has niacinamide, alpha arbutin, and kojic acid. An important product is using sunscreen every day. I'm never going to stop using tretinoin if I do take a break it will be for two weeks not more than that.

    Hi Sherelle, I live in England, UK and am having difficulty finding Tretinoin. I've asked my doctor for a Tretinoin prescription but I was prescribed a different treatment. I've been to a few chemists and was told Tretinoin is no longer available in the UK. Please could you point me in the right direction as to where I can get this great stuff that I once used around 10 to 12 years ago. Thanks.

    Hi there, I have been using tretinoin for 6 weeks now. I have a lot of feckless or brown spots on my face. I have brown skin. Now I am in my 6th week of using tretinoin. I see my entire face has discoloured so much. My skin has gone at least 2 shades darker. The pores have minimised but my skin colour has changed. It's gone darker. There are also here and there small patches of darkness on the face. I feel really horrible. I wonder if my original skin colour will come back? Or will I be getting darker and darker? I use La Roche Posay sunscreen. And I use tretinoin only at night. Should I just stop using tretinoin? Can somebody please reply if you have experienced what I do.

    same. i’m still trying to recover from the hyperpigmentation from dealing with the aftermath of it and controlling my acne with my diet and herbs. I spent the first year doing it on my own to see what my skin likes. I learned a lot! My advice to u would be to go see esthetician or get a routine and stick with it for at-least 3 months. Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate. Retin-a left me with dead skin being that it regulates your skin cycle leaving you with smooth skin. Truely it works wonders. It just traumatized me I wanted to go the natural route & Im excited to go see an naturopath to learn more! Don’t focus too much on ur skin just find a routine and stick with it my love❤ your beautiful

    So I’ve been using tretinoin on my neck for some time now. I have hyperpigmentation all over my neck and red spotty patches right underneath my neck. Tretinoin has been working on and off but recently I started itching like crazy on multiple parts of my body so I had to stop using it. Since then my neck seems very dry and rough kinda. What should I do? I use mostly natural oils on my skin like coconut oil, Shea butter, argon oil, etc. Also, any tips on using tretinoin when I’m out in the sun a lot? I want to start back up again but I’m going on a vacation and I’ll be in the sun a lot.

    You may have had a flair up of something, not sure what. Do you have eczema prone skin? It could also be contact dermatitis or even the Tretinoin itself. I’m not really sure what to advise but personally I would wait until after the holiday to try it out again 🙂

    @tamidivine9590

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes it did clear up eventually. I had to stop using it completely and allow my skin time to repair and then started again. Whilst repairing your skin, keep your routine simple! Cleanse - moisturize - sunscreen! I want to stress the importance of doing your research or consulting a Derm before using Tret! There's a reason why this stuff isn't over the counter. That thing is potent and can literally burn your skin off if not used correctly. When starting tret, start with the lowest percentage on the market. You can't just start using that stuff every night when you're just starting off. You have to gradually build your tolerance to it. Start off once a week, do that for a few weeks , then add another day, leaving a gap in between. Do that for a few weeks, then add another day etc. If you feel its getting too irritating, drop a day and continue building your tolerance. I've just now starting to test 3 times a week and so far its been ok. If I feel like its getting too irritating I'm dropping back to 2 days pronto. Only use a pea-sized amount, yes you heard right! This stuff isn't a moisturizer and neither is it a spot treatment. Its for your entire face. If applying to your neck as well you can use another pea-sized amount just for your neck. Use the sandwich method to reduce irritation. Moisturize - Tret - Moisturize again (leaving 20 mins in between each step to allow it to absorb into your skin - always wear your sunscreen in the morning). When using tret, moisture is your friend. Invest in a really good moisturizer and drink your water. Take it from me who messed my skin up from the beginning because I just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and was desperate to try anything. Now that i'm using it correctly, I've seen a massive improvement in the hyper-pigmentation around my mouth(it was really bad) and my skin has an overall glow. Whilst researching, after the fact that I messed up; I came across the Tretinoin community on Reddit where I got tonnes of advice. I just wished I had found it earlier but you live and you learn. Good luck everyone!
