In order to create methanol they need more land for corn and this result in deforestation in countries like Brazil, Argentina and not only. As a fact the majority of corn produced in USA is to be used for fuel. Climate change is debatable as in the life of the earth many cycles as this came and went ,yes in our life time it does look like a major process of global warming but I personally think is more than meets the eye.

I have added Stabil whenever I refill my cans of fuel for the last few years. My generator sits for months with it in (I turn off the tap and run the carb dry) and it always fires first time.

Thanks for the comment. Yes with the ethanol days some form of fuel stabilizer is essential really the fuel starts to go bad after 30 days otherwise

can also run your ethanol through a container filled with molecular sieves made to absorb excess water out of the ethanol before putting in additives.

Esso Synergy + (super fuel) is ethanol free it says E10 on the filler but the UK website states it's ethanol free.

I don’t find any trouble with E10 & lawn mowers however strimers, blowers & chainsaws the fuel tubes & carb diaphragms rot a lot quicker.

Yes - the rubber/plastic components are where you'll see degradation first. Replacing carb diaphragms was regular job for me before i started using stabilizer. Thanks for the comment!

Yes, you're comparing 4 stroke carburetors Vs 2 stroke carburetors. Only old 4 stroke carburetors have diaphragms like 2 stroke carburetors. It's the diaphragms that the ethenol is attacking.

My Echo saw has ben running beautifully six days a week all summer long. Filled it with E10, now it won't even start.

E10 as fuel still works, it just goes bad more quickly but if it was fresh that suggests a separate issue with the saw. Id go through and check your plug, breather hose/cap vent, fule filter, connections, carb for debris and gumming up - I regularly spray carb cleaner into mine. Just a tiny bit of wood dust can block the jets. Good luck.

Hi James, thank you for your video, can you help with a query, If I separate Ethanol from the E10 Petrol, what would be the effect on my 2stroke strimmer. And would I still need a stabiliser. Have you tried to run on such fuel. Stay safe.

It would be fine. Just like Aspen brand fuel. I still use Aspen from time to time. No stabiliser needed but of course you still need to add good quality 2 stroke oil.

I think it will come - but would need a new saw designed form scratch. I suspect electric saws will probably win out in the longer term though.

The climate varies greatly year to year. Therefore, it takes much more than 20 years of experience to identify a trend. It is warmer now than 20 or even 100 years ago, but cooler than it was 200 years ago. Climate models that predict Temperatures from CO2 levels have consistently been wrong.

Any student of statistics know you are 99.99998% correct. Any student of science knows we have been in and out of numerous ice-ages that occurred over hundreds of thousands of years...and certainly not trending in a perfectly straight line!
