I’ve always achieved success in life through comparison. Had a successful running career in college because there were people faster than me “I need to be faster than that guy, I’m going to outwork that guy to win” after graduating I got a job in sales. It was a really competitive environment. I brought the same mindset and became a top performer because I knew it was possible. Now I’m in a place in life where the comparison is only causing me tremendous stress. Friends making more money than me. Wife left me and now she’s making more money than me, her life seems it’s taking better direction than when we were together. It makes me feel absolutely horrible. But the truth is, I absolutely love my job, it’s so much fun and I’m making enough money to support myself. I love my friends and I love my life. But the comparison always works together with my competitiveness to torture me. I’ve just started this journey of gratitude and letting go of trying to be “better than” others in order to feel accomplished. Wish me luck

Hello 🙂 This is such a great video full of wisdom. We as humans at one time or the other get fustdrated in.many areas of life for not having our dreams fulfilled and compare ourselves with others especially with others. From this video we have to learn to run in our own tracks and stop comparing to others. So very true. Thank you very much for your words of Wisdom.🙏

This is one of the best videos about comparison and jealousy that I've seen so far. I have tendencies to get frustrated over other people's lives, especially if they have what I've dreamt of having. I don't know if it'll be easy to just wish them happiness, while I, myself struggle to get that same thing, when they are served with it for free. That's the part that I struggle with. He's so right about social media fuelling such toxic feelings, but still you can't get rid of that feeling of jealousy and comparison when you try so hard to get it for all these years and someone out there just got it for free. If anyone has a similar experience and knows how to fix it, please let me know.

I used to be jealous all the time and I'm not really sure how I managed to remove it from me. I think for me it's the idea of impermanence helped a lot. At the end of the day everything will go away so I don't really think much of what I have. I also think that envy is just an emotion that motivates you to do better, so whenever I feel it I know that it's just me desiring something and I immediately try to remove it from my thoughts because it feels bad and it don't really help me accomplish things. Desire is the root of suffering according to Buddhism and I completely agree but I can't help myself sometimes but still its possible to remove envy even though you still have desires, I think you just have to be aware of it. I'm sorry if this answer is confusing I'm not that good at sharing my thoughts. 😁😁 This may not be the solution for you but I know by experience it's possible to free yourself from envy. I can't believe that I've done it either, one day and it was just gone. Sometimes it comes back but I just have to remind myself that it don't matter in the end. So don't worry you'll find your way soon! 😁😁

This is the perfect advice & suggestion to control our jealous, envious & depression. The lord Buddha always shaw us how to lead a happy & prosperous life so that the earth become co-existent with peacefully. In the present world we want to be more wealthy in order enjoying life. But the process of acquiring assets are not unique somebody make proper way somebody are not then we involve in evil competition as a result we create discrimination, bad precedent & anti- social activities. In this regard neither do i but in order to dominate my foul mindset early in the morning after doing exercise always listen your holliness verse.Namo Buddha.. may all beings in the world be happy & successful.
