I wrote to you last week to ask you if I should adopt a male cat instead of a female. Your answer gave me the confidence to make a decision to adopt a cat. I have no patient for vacuum robots lol. I got one and then watched for ages it hoover the same spot over and over and avoiding the area that needs cleaning

There’s a mat that can catch litter, I found it on Cuddles&Meow They also have cat grass treats that can pass out hairballs, although Teemo and Arya don’t eat carbs, there’s also a cat brush that collects all the lose hair just like pet zoom does and there’s a cat brush comb that can help remove all the hidden dust and loose fur

If you do choose pine litter, buy it at a farm and feed type store. It's used for equine bedding too. It's WAY cheaper than buying the pine pellets that are marketed as cat litter. I buy 40 lb bags from Tractor Supply.

Im not sure if we could ask for a video topic but I would love a video on taking cats to a vet! Like how to keep them calm or something of the sort!

Remember buying pine one to begin with to minimise tracking and my kitten was holding in and refused to do it in it

Thanks for the informative post. Breeders use pine a lot because of the low cost and the danger of the kittens eating the clay and grain based litter. I agree that pine is not a good choice. We have two Litter Robots. We got them when we were still working and they were a necessity to insure that the cats had clean litter at all times. The Robots are kind of small if you have large cats. We found a great solution with some truly large stainless steel drum style litter boxes made by Less Litter. Expensive for a “pan” but half the cost of a Litter Robot.

We use “red” label Sustainability Yours in the Litter Robots and the pans. Almost no streaks or stains. The red label is a medium grade coarseness. The purple label is very fine and tracks really bad. I don’t know what the intended purpose of the extra fine grade is; maybe kittens? Never tried the extra coarse grade.

i have the tofu kind of shaped litter and cat still bring it out every day. It’s a lot better than clay ones. But still

My granddaughters female cat loves it. She watches it cycle. The male cat is more traditional and says "No way, mama, I'm not getting in there".

We have two Litter Robots. If the cats spend most of the time alone during the day then the Robot is a great solution. If you are home to scoop the boxes two or three times a day then the cost may not be justified. We use Sustainability Yours, medium grade corn based litter $$. Tofu did not work for us in the Robots as the poop was not covered and clumped enough to prevent streaks and mess in the Robot. We have three Ragdoll cats. Our first was a small female and the Litter Robot worked fine. We brought two big boys into the family and the Litter Robot is really too small for them. They use them but they struggle. We have found some large stainless steel drums by a company called Less Litter. We got the largest size. For the big cats they are perfect and are half the cost of the Litter Robot. Pine litter requires special litter boxes to work. A lot of breeders use pine because of cost and the fact that it is safer for the kittens as they tend to eat clay litter and it is dangerous. We used clay for a while but it caused respiratory issues in the cats. We could not find a “dust free” clay litter. We are going to try Tofu in our pans as Sustainably Yours tracks a lot. I hope this helps.

I can’t see those top entry litter boxes being comfortable for your cat, even if they are young. I have a large stainless steel litter box and the tofu litter is enough to prevent tracking
