Natalie D people don’t trust others cause they can’t trust themselves, cause if so everyone would give everyone a chance, and find a way to trust again. I know it’s hard to trust someone again but it isn’t I’m possible, have faith don’t ever see the bad in people.

One example is when Mom tells you to not touch the stove. Mom understands why from experience. You can explain why with great lengths but child will not truly understand until experiencing the pain. Mom can be there have the child touch the hot stove really fast so the child knows the difference between what is hot and cold. Best way to learn than to learn it by accident.

I'm a girl of 19 years old almost 20, and I've been through bad times.. My family abused me, they did not support me, they let me feel bad and dumb.. And at some point in my life I realised that this made me really insecure. I realised that I was quite depressed, I was not ambitious anymore, I stopped with work, with school and taking care of myself... they hurt me so much... And after watching this video it motivated me to cheer up. To walk above the haters.. Thank you so much..

I've been confused as to why I care so much about what people think of me my entire life. I thought it was just an effect of social anxiety or something. I've been searching for ways out of that mentality, but I never found the right advice. Finally, thanks to you, I realized one incredibly important thing: I always 'check' to see what people think. Even just yesterday, I was at volleyball practice, and there was a lull as everyone was waiting to start a drill. The coaches weren't saying anything, so I just said, "I guess I'll start..?" And what do you know, I felt better after seeing a nod of agreement from one of my teammates--a teammate I didn't even like. Not only that, but I want to try cheerleading this year, even though I've never tried it before--and you know what I did? I went around texting girls from the team the year before "Was it fun last year?" "Do you think I could do okay?" And other stupid questions like that, but in reality, I just wanted to feel validated and secured in my decision to even just join the cheerleading camp. It's terrifying how obvious it's been in my life; whenever someone else says their opinion, I try to ignore it if it makes me feel insecure, but it's still always there, bugging me ceaselessly. Half the time I'm asking for that opinion; I'm just ruining my day on purpose, and I had no idea. So, new plan: I will not be asking for anyone's opinions. Instead, I'll be considering things on my own, then make my decision based on what I've researched and realized. I will always ask myself before doing anything, "Am I doing this to try to get validation?" If my answer is yes, then my next question--to myself--is, "How can I make the right decision on my own?" Thank you so much!!! 💕💕💕

As a teenager it's difficult to not care about my family's opinions on my life. I wanted to be a flutist for the longest time. I have a great path paved for me because of my achievements in musical excellence. For example, I'm an All State student. However, my family doesn't think that playing flute will get me enough money or that I won't be happy with my life. So then I decided I'll get a Bachelor's in health science after I graduate high school, then proceed to get a PhD and become a physical therapist. They still expect more from me. They don't understand my goals and the path I want to travel by. I want to play my flute, make all state again, graduate high school with my AA diploma, move out, go to college, become a physical therapist, perform in an orchestra, and get married, but every time I try to explain to my family what I want to do with my life they always expect more from me. When I was at the reseating audition for all state this year my dad was dissatisfied because I was not first chair. I don't know how to make them understand, or if I should stop caring about trying to make them understand what I aspire for my life.

So what's the point? This video made me realize that what they say are just opinions, not facts. I'm happy with my body and and I'm happy with how I take care of my health. :)

I then jumped into a relationship with the first person that really loved me, his family treat me so poorly with a 5 year old and another one on the way and yet I still seek validation from people that aren’t in my life. I've chanced completely from that time but people don't know that and still talk to everyone about the things I did a long time ago. It haunts me so much that those random people think badly of me even though they know nothing about me and my reasons. I know for myself that I have changed but I need other peoples validation and I feel like there's no way to change their opinions about me. I'm currently working on myself to stop caring but I feel like that wouldn't change anything and only to fool myself thinking that everything is fine.

Hello girl! Here from a woman who is heading quickly to 30 the only thing I can "warn" you about is that teenage years are very important in your life, to get "people skills" a.k.a. learn how to deal with people, set boundaries, etc; also is important to know yourself and to experience things that will give you lessons about life (keeping yourself safe). I say this from personal experience because due to personal circunstances i kind of "didn't live" my teenage years, i was introvert and isolated as a kid and teenager, suffered bullying and then later at the crucial turning point to iniciate adult life (but still teenager) i had a serious health problem that stopped and messed up my life. When finally i could start "living" and started working and getting way out of my confort zone i had many problems due to not knowing to read people, lack of emocional Intelligence, not knowing myself, not knowing to negociate at work and with family, friends and people in general, which resulted in being taked advantage of and borders would be crossed all the time and i would feel awful about myself. Despite i was very young, people were very mean to me (beware that just the fact of you being Young with potencial causes jellousy on many). Being naive and unexperient is very dangerous, older people can use that against you with no remorse. Pay close attention on people, even if you don't have experience you have a gut feeling there to help you. I wish i lived better my teenage years so my adult life would start smother. It's a time in your life you never forget, for the good and the bad, and sets the tone to a lot in the future (still you always have power to Change what you want to Change), you Will always remember it and be nostalgic about it. There's no other time like that, even thought it can be very hard for many people. You have way more freedom in those years; once you become an adult working and responsible for yourself and others, you will never have the same time to enjoy yourself, to build yourself and fool around. This is just the story of One person so read it with your own lenses; i just hope it can help you in some way. Everyone is different and every life/experience is different. I hope the best for you and that you enjoy the every "present" of your life, with all the joys and difficulties that it always brings, whether you are 15 or 85. Always be kind to yourself even if people around you are not kind :-)

Omg thank you! this is what I needed so badly. I was raised in a bubble and taught obedience. Now I'm trying to branch out but I dont trust myself at all. I feel my mistrust in myself is ruining my relationships or at least making me feel unimportant in them. Everything you're saying makes so much sense. I cant wait to practice and make new habits for myself.

Hey people::::::::::::: Beware! Applying these ideas in your own life will most likely be slow and cumbersome. Be patient with yourself. Real growth results happen overtime, not over night. Look into practicing self love, self esteem as well. Knowing you deserve good things, love, and knowing you are capable of deciding for yourself are all foundational.

I love myself for that and all, but I hate being myself in public. all these older, judging, mature teenagers and I feel like they're just going to make fun of me. this weekend, I a watched a movie with my dad called "hotrod" which was a weird movie pretty much about learning how to not care what others think. My parents tore my confidence. I'm really passionate about nails and want to be a nail tech as a small business (im 14) my parents were talking about how it wasn't appropriate for my age group and when I ask "why?" They couldn't give me a straight answer. Talking about things like "Nails make you look grown" or "You look like you can do what you want. You're not grown" and even went to the extent of saying long nails look ratchet on black fat girls. Shattered my dreams and self confidence 🤪 Just today, i had done my nails all nice, and my mom saw them. She made this whole scene again about "oh my god youre too young to have long nails" then started giving examples like "so how would you feel if you saw a 5 year old wearing hair extensions, nails and heels outside huh? " And I was confused because *im not 5* and I was saying that. Started to compare me to other girls and things like that. Then she told me to show my dad then he started doing the same thing. Then said " Lemme tell you something that'll stick to you. Take the f8cking nails off or ill rip them off myself. Why? Because I f8cking said so. So get in the damn bathroom and take them off." I ran out off the room crying, then cut down my nails I took HOURS on. Design and everything. I came to this video because I have a hard time standing up for myself. This really helped. ❤️ Edit: the nails were about 1 inch long.

Thank you! I think I struggle with decision making because i usually feel bad what the other person is going to think. I feel like it stems from me making decisions and my mother always putting down my decisions or that I have to listen to her because she's my mother. It's a process of shedding all the noise that fed you for so many years even if your not listening, it can still subconsciously effect you.
