III. Stop being the cool girl Yes. Thank goodness I figured this out for myself. I'm 31, but used to PRIDE myself for being the "cool girl". Crazy how when I stopped trying to be so cool I fell in love and married someone I'm truly compatible with and can be so "uncool" around :)

You gotta raise your standards. Martyrdom becomes bitterness and wanting others so suffer similarly real quick. You may not think it's in your character, but everyone has tipping points. Keep yourself safe. Keep yourself cared for.

something you talk about often is how we need to remember the things we have already been through and believe in ourselves to get through the things we are dealing with now. I love that because it's easy to forget what we have already over come.

Brook Gurule i had a bad day at work the other day and it was only bad towards the end when a table complained about my service (i am a waitress). They told my manager i wasn't engaging enough and apparently my service wasn't up to the service they usually get at my work. It broke me because even tho i've only been a waitress for 3 weeks, that was the one thing i was the most afraid of, being told on, by my manager, particularly the one i don't like the most. I went home and cried myself to sleep i was so sad. I felt embarrassed not good enough everything. Then i remember what she says. If i was able to stand there and hear my manager and customer criticize me to my face (and behind my back) i could over come almost anything else, because that was my absolute greatest fear. Now i have work all weekend long and i'm gonna pick my self back up and continue to try and not be discouraged because that's not who i am. i've made it this far..

I appreciate that you gave the example of paying for someones starbucks drink specifically. I'm very poor and I have been all my life. Right now I'm in college fulltime and working two jobs just trying to get by. I never go out because I can't afford to and, as a result, I've lost many friends (friends I feel better without, however, I feel like they couldn't be there with me during my struggle so they don't deserve to be by my side through my success). I stay in doors all day and suffer from Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety. My one little bit of joy is going to buy a starbucks maybe once or twice a month. I love their drinks and starbucks holds a lot of good memories for me so I just like going there. One day I went through a starbucks drive through. I had two exams that week (one that day) and I was exhausted from studying. I had spent about a half hour scrounging up change before I left just to try to pay for one little drink. I was so stressed that day about school and money. I felt lonely and tired and I hadn't left my house in about a week except to go to class so I just needed my feel-good starbucks. When I got to the drive-thru I made my order then got up to the front window and the cashier tells me the person in front of me has paid for my drink. That meant so much to me especially in that moment and on that day. Her small act of kindness toward a complete stranger completely made all the difference. I was so happy it completely brightened my day and reminded me that not all people are bad. I put the little bit of change I'd found into gas instead and took my exam with a renewed spirit and passed. Don't underestimate what a small act of kindness can do for someone

I am SO grateful to hear you speak about not being a cool girl.. I have always been told I'm too harsh and picky and sometimes I get insecure and test being more forgiving which actually is, like you said, lowering my standards. I'm almost 30 and still feel that I would rather be alone than with someone that I don't feel 100% respected by. I am in a situation like that now with a guy that is really cool and I like him a lot but my gut is telling me it's not good enough so I was planning on speaking to him about it in a few days and your message right here just killed the part of me that was scared and thinking about doing it half ass. So THANK YOU for being the best role model!

Your videos in conjunction with fitness and learning human behavior and the effect it has on yourself and others; I have found a way to bring myself up to a level I never even though existed for me. I use to think I was only worth as much as much as the attention I received from others. Especially men (I admit reluctantly). But I have and still am reaching a confidence level that has made me realize how truly amazing I really am. I never thought I could actually 'not care' about what other people thought of me. The gratitude I have for you is inexpressible, I only hope that your life will be as fulfilling as possible and you have all the happiness in the world. Thank you for the precious time that you spend doing what you do.

It has taken me about two years now to get to where I am. But the changes I made were dramatic. I spent three years day dreaming about the person I wanted to be but never doing anything about it. I was in a toxic relationship with someone who made me feel like I couldn't do what I wanted with my own body and still be with him. While I was in a deep depression I would spend a lot of time on KZread. While browsing one day I found Nur's first confidence video and I had to have watched it at least a hundred time. Eventually I realized that the person I really wanted to be with was not someone who made me feel like I shouldn't want what I wanted. But I wanted to be with someone who loved me and didnt want to stop me from growing. I realized that I wanted to be myself. So I wanted to be happy with myself. I wanted to be happy when I was alone and I wanted to be brave enough to do anything alone. But I really didn't know how. Nor did I even like who I was. So Nur's videos were used as guidance for me. I wanted to be better than I was. Not for anyone else, but for me. So I figured if I started exercising I would like how I looked. But instead I just sort of started to feel better about myself. Not because I saw physical progress, but rather mental. I was actually sticking to what I said I would. I was proud of myself. Then I looked at the people in my life and I decided to take a few months off from everyone else. during that I time I built myself. I started to have plans. I made goals and I strove for them. I still talked to people but mostly I was focusing on me. I started getting things done that I knew really mattered. Slowly I stopped questioning myself and when I did that I had faith in myself. When I had faith in myself I didn't care what other people thought of me. I took a look at the whole picture and figured out what I wanted. If someone called me full of myself I knew they were the type of person who thought I should think less of myself and I didn't want them in my life. I choose who is in my life now because I know I am worth more than what people might try to make me feel. Same goes for everyone. I don't know if this helps, but I hope it does.

Thank you for this video !!! :D Your message about growing up poor and having a bad relationship with money resonates with me very much. When you said worked on your relationship with money what practical things did you do to change the way you dealt with money? (Did you you come up with a financial plan, made journal entries about your current philosophy and then re-wrote differently the new attitudes you wanted to have, allowed yourself to buy a couple of luxury items and treat yourself, etc.)

Watching this made me realize something about my relationship with money. Money was scarce throughout my teen years. Sometimes I'd have to wash my hair with a bar of soap with a gallon jug of water because the water got turned off. So now, whenever I make any extra money I find it incredibly hard to save it. I never thought about why this is so hard for me; I just figured I had no self control. But after watching this video I realized that I feel like this might be the last time I have extra money, so I need to spend it on things I want as quickly as possible. It doesn't make a lot of sense to spend money if I feel like I won't have extra money later, but I'm glad I realized that I feel like that because now I feel like I can breathe. I don't NEED those things right now and I can save without having this gnawing urge to buy things I don't need. Thank you. 😊

Absolutely love your thoughts on the relationship to money. I grew up in a non-wealthy home as well but I went in the other direction. Instead of learning to detest money as a result, I learned to make money the #1 goal. I wanted it and I wanted it bad. I'm happy I went down that path because it's created great opportunities for me but it did take time to redefine my relationship with money to be more about creating value for other people rather than about earning money for myself.

I am so happy I found your videos. I have been going through a lot in my personal life and work life, I have recently changed how I let people treat me. Your videos resonate with me!!! I am 35 and I am just now standing up for myself to friends, family and co- workers, it was a very scary thing to take in at first but I did it for my mental and physical health. Certain relationships I had with people were extremely toxic and I didn’t know how to keep them away or how to be firm and stand up for myself. I am happy to say that it’s been a few months since I have made many changes in my life and I am VERY HAPPY !!!!! I cut out all the people that caused me pain, anxiety and anger in my life. For many years I nurtured and cherished relationships with people that were as you say “shitting at my party” my life is important to me and I finally WOKE up !!!! I am no longer “the cool girl” but I am okay with that, in fact .. I love the fact I’m not the cool girl. I don’t have many friends now but the ones I do have treat me kindly and give me the respect I know I deserve, I stopped being a doormat. I never wanted to cut family out because in our culture you just “don’t do that” so I struggled with that but I had to change my way of thinking to get peace in my life.

AMAZING! Everything you said literally spoke out to me. From the money - people having such a negative and bad relationship with money to what you said about females telling another female to "just be cool" ...basically telling them to " lower their standards down to pretty much disrespecting themselves". INFURIATES ME . Thank you for this video, you made me feel and know that I'm not fucking alone in this shit!!

Thank you thank you thank you! I've been watching for years and I'm so excited about this advice series especially. You're such an inspiration and you've really helped affirm these little thoughts and bits of personal growth I've had- I'm getting better about having confidence in myself and feeling worthy of my own standards, but that little voice in my head is a real jerk! Whenever it starts talking, I love that I can just turn on one of your videos, it shuts that obnoxious lying voice down in a heartbeat! I'm actually on the cusp of leaving my own corporate job to start working on my own- I don't feel ready to coach yet, I have sooooo much to learn and I am just barely starting to trust in myself, so I don't feel quite ready to help anyone else- at least not for any profit- but I will get there!! And having these conversations and watching these videos and sharing what I can through my blog and through social media is already doing something for humanity and doing something with all of the challenges I've overcome- and this is such an incredible journey, thank you for encouraging me to share it and for being brave enough to share your own journey and put your advice out there! P.S. Hi mom ;)

Thank you for taking the time and effort to helping create a better world. Your advice is grounded in not-so-common common sense and can be applied to life from the time the video finishes. I'm so glad I stumbled upon you content last year when I was going through a very tough time. And I still have YDB labeled in my phone ;) And when I feel that life is too much, I like to channel my inner Nur. Keep doing you! Also hiiiii Nur's mom!

I loved this...especially the Steve (jerk!!) story. Thank you for posting. I'moff to check Master Class! Hey Mom, you did a great job with Nur (and her siblings too, I'm sure!). She's a wonderful young lady with a terrific head on her shoulders and she's an absolute ray of light to help us viewers focus on challenges in our lives. Hugs to you both!

Mama Nur, Thank you for raising the most incredible woman. You will never know the impact that your daughter has had in so many lives. Nur is the big sister that some of us never had and it is out of pure LOVE why she does what she does. Your daughter has taught me everything from shaving my face, to trusting in myself to becoming the woman I was created to be. Nur truly leads by example. We crave/NEED more woman like her in our society. Her light shines SO bright in this dark world that her mission is unstoppable. Again I say, THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing Nur into this world, we love you!

Thanks I learned so much from you in this 17 min. I have been abused emotionally and physically by my parents and I was searching for myself and than I found you! You are such a help! I don't know how to thank you but what you said is so true. I have been hating myself for years because I couldn't fight back as a child. All the things I witnessed and had to go through made me quite bitter and didn't want to go outside anymore besides for work and shopping.

So during quarantine I wasn't feeling myself most of the time and being in a relationship wasn't helping either since I didn't get any mental support and confidence. My best friend since 6 years sent me this huge text one day in which she stated reasons on how I was always the toxic one and i didn't care about anything. 'The cool girl' if you would say. I cried like crazy I didn't tell my boyfriend nor my mom or my friends. She cut me out of her life. Now its been 2 Months since I've spoken to her, I dumped my boyfriend. Your videos helped me. Ive tried to change my attitude and become a better person. I stumbled upon your video and watched them all. You're an inspiration your words just speak the truth. Young teens need such content but we waste time watching useless shit instead of useful syuff like this. thank you for this and your mom since she reads the comments. You're a blessing :)

what you said about Steve is so true. I completely agree. I always tell people that money is needed to pay for rent, food etc but it is not our existence. If all you think about is money that is what you become. I am generalizing because I don't want this post to be super long. Great video!
