In NJ, during a Storm the leaves cover the drain mid storm, and if we do not catch it, will clog and flood. :( need a better solution than a drywell. The drain requires constant monitoring and cleaning. Sometimes the rain just comes too fast and can not get down the drain fast enough as well.

Sorry to hear that! Maybe we can colaborate on a few ideas to generate a better drain system for you, and others. I'd love to hear what you have in mind, and see how it can become a reality with the right implementation.

Water table is so high that our drain becomes a geyser when there is heavy rain. What’s your suggestion then?

Add a sump pump that will pump the drain water elsewhere in a storm event.

"Most of the time you do not need a pump if you build this correctly." Good. So I am curious if your new design was correct (does not have a pump)?

Yes, if you have a gravel field that is suffient you will not need a pump. The project in the video you commented on never had any gravel below. It was just a concrete pad that was about 1' thick, not leaving anywhere for the water to actually go.

And to answer your question, yes, our build was done right. We did not need a pump.
