Deshaun Watson is stealing $230,000,000 from the Cleveland Browns, and things are only getting worse and worse. Watson has regressed in several key areas, and while the Browns defense is one of the best in the league, the offense is severely lagging behind. What is wrong with Watson? What is wrong with this offense? And is there anything more that is affecting the situation? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 to analyze the Cleveland Browns Quarterback Deshaun Watson.

All allegations aside, there were always a few major problems with this whole situation: 1. No player is worth all the picks and money given up for Watson in a sport with a hard salary cap where depth ultimately wins championships. 2. Watson is a spread QB playing in a completely different system. 3. Watson not playing for essentially almost two seasons costed him valuable in-game reps and connections with his teammates.

Then not a single baseball player would have any motivation to succeed. Baseball is still a very demanding sport with the loads of traveling, high amounts of games, the year round conditioning, etc. It's a myth that players lose motivation to succeed with guaranteed money. I doubt any NFL owners would care to admit that because then they would have to pay players their full worth. Lets be honest, DeShaun Watson is a bum and already had some very clear character flaws that drove him out of Houston. 230 million would've been an awful idea for Watson guaranteed or not

@@bIoodypingu You're missing the point, I'm not talking about the physicality of the sport, I'm talking about the overall labor of it. Baseball players have a significantly longer season, they're away from family often, individual games are not as imporant because 1 loss is 10x less significant than in the NFL, all this guaranteed money could very well result in a lot of checked out and unmotivated athletes. Baseball for sure has, but so has every other sport. Being a professional athlete is not the dream job that it seems to be, and a lot of athletes themselves will be the first people to tell you that. Plus, having a contract that's not guaranteed doesn't sound to me like motivation to play to your highest potential. It sounds like a good reason to play conersvatively because any injury could void your contract. Team owners earn billions every year and could 100% afford to pay NFL athletes guaranteed contracts. It's bullshit for players to have to put their bodies and livelihoods at risk every down for unguarenteed money, especially with the long-term health effects of being a professional football player.

Ironic timing right before the Browns' big win over the Ravens. This reminds me of people "grading" a team's draft before players have even taken the field. The only way to know how the draft really turned out is to wait 3-4 years to see how players progressed. In this case, Watson isn't even a full season into his contract and we have dopes already pronouncing him a bust.

To defend Watson, his best years as a passer is more catered to a spread style where he can also use his athleticism to scramble or make something happen. He won't get that in Stefanski's offense where he favors more heavy personnel and play action with the efficient run set up. If anything Stefanski is more pressured to win while getting the most out of Watson this season. Because if he can't then Haslam will back his 264$ million guarantee in a QB over a HC he can replace who can make Watson work.

The browns are 7-4 with Watson since becoming a brown, including a 4-1 record this season (should be 5-0 we gave that game to Pittsburgh). The browns are 5-9 without Watson since he’s a brown. Last two full games Deshaun has 506 4 tds and 0 picks. He’s also having a good season numbers back that. I get people hate him as a person, but the hate he has gotten this year is unreal. I don’t understand where it’s coming from he’s been playing well this year and the browns are much better with him

the 4-1 record this season definitely involves the resurgence of the defense coached by DC Jim Schwartz. Hell in games without Watson (which I consider the Colts game as well since Walker played the rest of it) the defense held up going 2-2 with wins vs the Niners/Cards and losses to Seahawks/Ravens. The only game where Watson looked as good so far this season was against the Titans. That isn't saying much for a the money he was thrown. I think people like you are misdirecting him playing under the absurd value he was paid for and the displeasure people have for it as 'hate'.

When you are an elite player and you're eventually traded to Cleveland or Arizona, your career has officially reached it's deathbed. It's better to be drafted by either of these teams than to be traded to them. The only player to beat this curse is Hall of Famer Kurt Warner. I honestly took the struggles of DeShaun Watson as him being out of football for two years with the Texans, and then being hurt quite a bit this season. But man, he has regressed 10 fold since he's gotten to Cleveland. He needs a big time QB Coach, a hellified Offensive Coordinator, and he needs to work on his game in the offseason than doing whatever it is that he does in the offseason... because it ain't working! The DeShaun Watson in Houston made miracles with only ONE Elite WR, and now in Cleveland, he can't even conjure up a prayer. it seems this contract combined with his past legal troubles has taken a big chunk of his focus out of him. He has plenty left in the tank, but he'd better find it in a hurry, because the NFL does unofficially stands for (N)ot (F)or (L)ong. 🧐

It might be worse than the Herschel Walker trade, the Vikings weren't actually that bad following the trade. Sure, they never won a Super Bowl, but they made the playoffs almost every year in 90's. The trade was done during the 1989 season and the Vikings finished 10-6. In 1990 they went 6-10 but that was as bad as it got for them. In 1991 they went 8-8 and in 1992 they won 11 games despite the Cowboys owning the Vikings' 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick. They then went to the playoffs in 7 of the next 8 seasons with an 8-8 campaign in 1995 being the only exception.
