1.Taking deep breathes 2.Relaxing self-talk: speaking aloud and having a phrase to calm you down like "It's just"
The self talk works magic. I heard talking in the third person also helps too because it takes the inward focus away. Makes it seem less serious
@SamMartinPeakPerformance

Love this 🙌 definitely agree. It helps take the pressure off even more as speaking in 3rd person is far less pointed
Never has there been a footballer or athlete more clutch that CR7. Absolute goat.

This is helpful. I got a pinch hit at bay in our last game and grounded into a double play in the last inning to lose the game. Nothing like taking a teammates opportunity and failing

I play amateur football (Soccer), and one time we had this match and I created 4 one on ones with the goalie and missed all of them. now that I think about it, if I scored the first one I would've scored the others. But I didn't, because of my weak mentality. I kept saying "I shouldn't miss this" instead of "I'm gonna score this".

i choked an easy shot and i haven't gotten over it yet (football) i received a good ground pass and completely kicked with all my power and missed the ball as it still rolled on.. :(

When i face rush of blood. I seem to relax too much and end up underperforming. Any suggestions?
Well when i was doing as a goalie in my respective football team i was able to save more than 10 times however at the last minute one of our defender concede a foul and the ref gave a penalty at that time i was thinking that one of my senior goalie would come up to save but he didn't and later the opposition scored it against me . That still hurts me today.
My worst choke was when I missed the outcome decisive penalty in the semi finals.

Hey Sam Martin, I've been having trouble recently and when I play my squash matches. You may not have heard the game before but it's similar to tennis, kind of. After the score is 10-7 and I'm losing (11 to win), I always win back 2 points but mess up when I get the chance to bring the game to deuce. I take deep breaths and use self talk but I'm still having trouble, what should I do?
@SamMartinPeakPerformance
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Here's a couple of suggestions - 1) Focus on the process, not just the outcome: Instead of getting caught up in the pressure of reaching deuce, concentrate on executing each shot effectively. Take it one point at a time and try to maintain your focus throughout the match 2) Practice under pressure: Simulate deuce situations during your practice sessions. Create scenarios where you're down in points, and practice making a comeback. This will help you build confidence and improve your ability to handle pressure situations during actual matches.
My choke is that i dribbled past everyone one defender goes past me and i go past the keeper im in the far right, shoot with my left and miss by 2 inches.. ( we still won the game tho )

Yeah, in a way it seems insulting to say a person "chocked" when they may very well have missed in perfect circumstances! How unfair! Of course, coming back from "mistakes" is an important skill from an indoor soccer keeper like me! I have to remember that the score is always high, and the so-called mistake is just part of the game. No big deal. If there is something to learn, I keep it in mind, if it is relevant then, if it is a skill thing, I can work on it later. Bigger mistake is to obsess and worry about it. That attitude makes it easier to accept that I did not "choke" when maybe I even did.
