I am one of the kids who was brought up that way racing pan cars on carpet oval I used to go and watch my uncle race all night long and never said a word about trying his car and then one day a few months later on he let me drive his super fast pan car this was back in the day of making your own battery packs with cells that you soldered together and you had big strips of light bulbs putting off 90 degrees of heat in your face to drain batteries. He taught me everything and I am really glad he got me involved because I love the hobby I just wish more places had tracks to race on

How old was the kid when you did that I did same thing last 5 weeks in a row with my legend car for a kid this kid would have his parents bring him just to watch and he never asked his parents for a car to racing eand never asked anyone to try a car and would always Marshall and would sit quite and learn and watch me work on my Busch car legend car and runner tire truck all carpet oval so one day I told him he could run my legend car on a practice night and I told him shut drive it and if it breaks I will fix it well after about a 100 laps this 7 year old was driving a break out legend car like a pro and he know drives my legend car for me as a driver every week on carpet oval and carpet road course he is getting very good

My favorite memory was when I was about 12. I ran a Hornet in an enduro oval race back in the 80’s . It was slow, but I had less battery stops. So it went pretty well. I didn’t place, but that race is stuck in my memory. I can close my eyes and go back like it was yesterday.

Favorite Rc moment, well my first win is up there, but making it to the d main with my own chassis, custom body, cheap used motor and borrowed tires at the Short Course Colossal in Ohio. End up around 32 out of 65 cars. Was a big accomplishment for me.

My uncle took my racing with him in the late 80's and early 90's, my Dad couldn't afford to get me into rc cars then... fast forward say 30 years and I just got into rc cars with RTR, and soon wanted more, like racing dirt oval and off road as a kid. Now I am getting into both, thanks for the great channel to help us new people to the sport.

Here in Phoenix we have 1 dirt oval with mostly mod class cars Street stock, late model and modified. It is a short track with a good bank. they run a late model unlimited class on a sct platform. Racing is shut down until it cools off in late September so Im building my car now. We do race asphalt oval with street stock, and bomber class that is a blast both those classes are speck. Thunder truck is mod class. Check out worc racing facebook page for race footage. I am big fan of all types of RC racing I wish I could do everything but I pretty much stick to on road touring cars I have been really wanting to get into dirt oval but I need to buy a new kit to start and I just don't have the funds to do it without selling my on road car or waiting a couple more months and try to save up as best as I can

I just started doing a little onroad action my self! Dirt is where my heart is. Grew up big car racing. My best opinion is to get on the r/c dirt oval classifieds. Find you a decent used street stock and start there. More than likely you will have time to save as just about damn near every track in the country is shut down right now

@@TeamUnknownRacing yeah I will admit that kinda put a stop to everything it really sucks I was looking forward to out door off road racing hopefully as well I just run a stock sc10 2wd I used to have top of the line factory racing kits and then just lost interest in the scene because of a lot of drama between all the other drives and tracks fighting back and forth about taking business away from the other guy so I sold everything and started over again but I have found that the on road racing carpet guys are usually really laid back and nice people who will actually be willing to help you get your car setup right so you can actually drive it instead of just smashing everyone else off the track. I am big fan of Tamiya TCS races because everyone that drives in those classes has good driver skill and respect for everyone elses stuff so you don't end up getting smashed around all night ruining everything so all my on road cars always stay in like new shape especially when you only race them indoor on carpet but I have two for out door asphalt because my local main track was a indoor asphalt track 20'/40' but they are now since closed down for good because they could not compete with a indoor clay track but now the indoor off road clay track is only a huge indoor dirt oval it's called full throttle in green Island NY I live in Syracuse now so I am not as close as I wish I could be to that track because it is a huge clay oval indoors all season.

Foam tire and rubber tire are two completely different setup cars. And even chassis designs. A foam tire car, Will have WAY to much left side weight for racing on loose dirt. Now if your rubber tire track, is a purely clay track, then you could get away with it

Question I recently pick up an old rtr RC10 T3 I built it an it came with another LRP esc, it’s brushed I’m new to electric’s normally deal with nitro but anyways, long story short it was slow tried different gearing different brushed motor said screw it went brushless I got a Hobbywing EZRUN combo with the max10 ecs & 5400 kv brushless motor I wired everything up set my end points on my esc an everything seemed find I’m still running nimh batteries I’m going to get lipos tomorrow, but the thing is once I set the car on the ground with 25% throttle it drives fine but anything after that 25% my steering cuts in an out an so does my throttle but when it’s off the ground with no load on the tires everything is ok an I disabled LVC also cause the manual said since I’m running nimh batteries do that an that might solve the problem but it didn’t, would you have a clue to what the problem might be ?
