Scam avoidance 101: 🗣️NEVER….EVER🗣️ give personal information to anyone who calls you. And do not click on or put your log in credentials in to any link randomly sent to you. Hang up and call whatever place the person is claiming to be from yourself, explain the situation and go from there. At least then you’re 💯% sure you’re talking to a representative of that company.

doordash diaries only protects his viewers, he kinda an asshole to everyone else in the community that thinks even mildly differently than he does. Must be hard getting under 10k views on a channel with almost 150k subs though so I guess I could understand being an asshole when your a failure

#1 happened to me a few months ago. Doordash support has never called me in the almost three years of dashing. I was suspicious and hung up!

Never use a link to login, just log in the normal way. And this goes for anything not just doordash.

This exact scam happened to me when I was a new and naive dasher who couldn't imagine something like this was going on. They (coincidentally) scammed my biggest check ever of over $1500. Thank god Doordash reimbursed me the whole amount. Follow everything this man has to say! Thanks for the video!!

Thank you Bentley! Because of this video I was aware of a scam call that came in today while doing deliveries. They called as soon as I picked up the order. Now I don't take calls while driving so I drove to the restaurant and I had sent the call to voicemail but they called back 4 times and even had the balls to message me in app to answer the phone. So when I did, guess who, a man claiming to be doordash support telling me the dudes kid ordered as mistake and they are going to show me how to cancel it in the app. I said hell nah because you very well can do that yourself. Then called doordash support to address it. But before I hung up on the dude he knew I was onto him and threatened me if I go to the location.

This channel showed up my feed ❤

Doordash needs to find out a better way to protect our accounts. This is crazy

#1 happened to me once time. i was like NOPE. who orders a single tortilla from Chipotle to a hotel anyway? I delivered that junk to the hotel like a normal order and talked to the front desk person and then I called into dasher support myself. I don't even answer if dasher support is trying to call me, IDK who it really is.

@@VJJBodhi yea they called and asked me to verify my account so I would be given a tip or something stupid I can't remember exactly. the person spoke in perfect english which support never has so I told them, "I don't trust you I'm going to call support myself" then I hung up and called support myself. LOL

@@batmayn the best part about your experience is that you got paid to deliver a single tortilla!😆😆😆 I only had support call me once and I initiated the chat text because of a huge Dunkin order and that location telling me that they were completely out of donuts and I was the 5th person to come get the order…everyone else unassigned but since I didn’t want to lose my $$ I handled it and got half pay-and doordash support was a female with a very Indian accent.

Thanks for making this video. I think every dasher should be required to watch this video lol. I just started a few months ago. Lately it hasnt been busy at all.

I just got one this morning on my very first order and reported to the DoorDash chat support while I was talking to the suspect and it turned out. Everything was OK on my end and the scammer hung up. If you’re dashing contact chat support do not click on any links do not cough up any information cost me an order and a point off my completion rate but that’s worth not getting scammed

Some people are so evil.

I do order a smoothie sometimes by itself - it ends up costing like $15 with delivery and I'll tip like $5 so it's a $20 smoothie but IJS for the single item thing

Wow that has already happen to me

I get called by support at least once a week. They literally know all the info they need already and if the order is being canceled you just get the money you don't need to verify anything. I've never once had to prove myself to support. They just say hey (name) this is (name) with dasher support calling about (blank) order are you on that one? Yes. Ok just calling to let you know the customer has canceled and you no longer need to deliver it. You will be paid half the agreed amount. I go ok thanks and we hang up. That's it. The funniest part about this is I don't even know my DoorDash login info so they would get absolutely nowhere. I gotta reset the password every time my phone randomly logs me out lol.

Hang up an continue to deliver the order. Be quick, and they will get charged LOL, and someone else will get free food....

I just got hit with the first one!!! The order was one pack of ranch sauce.

Only happened to me once a couple of years ago. Guy calls me while I'm on my way to the restaurant claiming to be DD support wanting me verify my phone number. Fortunately I was already aware of these scammers and he was not very good at it! He cancelled when he realized that I was giving him any information. Called to report the account to DD. They gave me half pay for going to the restaurant. Cool shirt btw, Bentley!

Frustration. When people lie and report food wasn't delivered. Dashers need to be protected from this. Calling dont help and waiting days for a support team to resolve a dispute hasn't come to fruition. Has anyone here had success with clearing up these false contract violations?

Hi I'm also a dash driver and I did deliver a customer with only initial name on the order . What does that mean?

Happened to me about 2 weeks ago, petsmart order and when I hung up on these buttholes and called support there’s were a lot of petsmart orders for this individual. When I asked fake support why the order was canceled she said “ because she was using a credit card that didn’t belong to her” ding ding ding . Then they ask you for your card info so they can reimburse you for the canceled order but I was on another order drop off on my way to petsmart hadn’t even got the order yet. Real support would have known that and never asked for my info. It’s also a very odd phone number and support was already locked in my phone.

@Angela Johnson I actually just had one of these happen to me yesterday. Not sure if it was a scam, but when I arrived at the store, the customer put pick up instructions. The order was originally a sandwhich. The customer requested that I have the restaurant change the sandwhich to a salad and if they couldn't do that then just cancel the order. I just thought it was weird so I unassigned myself.

I'm on UE and I got a call like this a while back. The first red flag was the item in the order: a baguette from Panera. Nothing else. Just bread. When I got to what I thought was the address, which was a whole separate hassle because it didn't seem to match up with the pin on the map, I got the call saying the customer had cancelled. The guy sounded like what I'm used to hearing when I call driver support but he started asking questions I've never been asked by support. When I let him know I was suspicious he told me I could call support myself and hung up. I called support and the first person I talked to was like, "Ohh, noooo. You didn't tell him any of your account information did you?" Since then I go on high alert when I see orders with only one item in them. LOL

This is definitely for newer dasher or those who have never had an order canceled. Because doordash doesn't call you when the order is canceled, it just canceled. It's only happened to me once and I called them to make sure I get something

I just was wondering if when I’m in app chatting with doordash while working and they randomly ask me for my email if it’s a scammer lol. I’ve been doing this 3 years and I’m always thinking everybody scamming🤣

I got scammed this last Sunday. I only doordash weekends as my side gig and the Sunday before last there was a legitimate outage with the app where I was logged out and called support and they explained there was a major outage and problems with the app and to keep trying to log in periodically. Worked the next day.. then this last weekend was my first time dashing since the outage. Only like 4 hours Saturday and noticed there was subtle differences like I believe the tip amount showed differently and I think a couple times there was a text issue where things momentarily werent centered correctly and overlapped. So I just got back to the hot zone from this bomb delivery with a 13.50 tip and not too far then get a McDonald's order mind you I dash by time and rarely decline an order only the very select few that where I've used my experience to judge it probably won't be worth it though I do take quite a few far orders and do usually get fat tips. This order was very short though like less than a mile and 1 item from McDonald's but yeah I don't see my payout but it did just seem strange when I picked up 1 mccrispy. Get the call saying the order has been cancelled the customer wanted more items and I will be reimbursed for half the pay and they said they needed to update my phone number. I never even fathomed something like this could exist and never experienced something like it. The only thing that made me take the bait was that initial thought well yeah practically my last experience with the app there was this major outage now I just started and there's weird things going on with the display. I gave them my phone number they sent me link that was doordash.com password change and temporary code and I fell for it and typed it in but immediately afterwards I thought man could this actually be some type of scam like I basically just changed my password to a code that I was given so I immediately hung up and they called me back and said because the call was disconnected they cannot proceed making it even more just sketchy like they're trying to stall me and not allow me to contact support so I hung up again and called support and explained the situation asked them if it was a scam they said yes my account information has been changed and warned me do not give out any information to anyone who calls you and support will not do these things. They immediately froze my account and I'm sure not long before the scammer would have been able to switch over the pay to their account but was reassured that my bank information was still the same and no money was taken but all of my account information was changed. They changed the email the password the phone number and basically completely hacked my account but weren't able to change the bank information I'm guessing to dasher direct so they could withdraw the funds. My account is still frozen right now I was emailed by the escalation team the next morning and so on but still haven't received word back yet about getting my information switched back and essentially retrieving my account

And what's the reason for this whole situation??? You forget to mention that this whole situation arises because door dash is a cheap company they don't notify the driver that the order has been cancelled neither willing to compensate for wait time and travel . Not only driver waist time in restaurant till find out order is cancelled but he have to make a time waisting call in case he wanna get compensated . ( Your order has been cancelled, you compensated $$, free to move to next dash, stay safe )

@Ronda I immediately knew something was off and instantly changed my password and called support. They nailed my card while I was on the phone with dasher support. To make it worse, after thinking we resolved everything that day, they managed to steal from my card the following day as well. My dasherdirect account was suspended to stop the scammers and I've switched my method of payment. It's very defeating. 😞

I fell into it once, but the 2nd time they tried scamming me i just hung up the phone bc it felt suspicious . I just clicked and they immediately tried calling me again. I just cancelled the order and said lates!! 😊😊

I've actually completed these deliveries. It hurts the scammers because they have to pay for an order that they didn't receive and you still get paid. That said, the better alternative is to contact DD support once you've arrived at the pickup spot. Report that you rec'd a call from someone posing as DD support asking you to cancel the order. DD support will try to contact the customer. If the customer cancels then you'll get half pay for arriving at the pickup. If support recognizes several cancellations or complaints associated with this account, they'll likely shut it down. I consider this the best action because you still get paid and hopefully Doordash is forced to do something about the scammer.

If dasher support calls, and they speak good English, it's a scam

When in doubt don’t accept and get out worst that can happen is it’s actually support and you get booted from the platform from that
