I don't know Teddy. I don't want to be too cynical, but these big sellers like Bob's Watches do have a kind of interest in talking up the quality of fakes, don't they? The more people are scared of so-called "super-fakes", the more likely they are to pay a premium for the peace-of-mind that comes from buying from a big established company. Well okay. But in this video it's quite interesting that they choose not to show us high resolution close-up images of the fake versus real movements. Elsewhere I've seen other (much better) pictures of some of these replica movements from so called 'high end' fakes. In actual fact the internal finishes are noticeably much rougher and less refined looking than the originals. In my opinion even a non-expert person with a little bit of streetwise common sense would immediately smell a rat if he or she carefully inspected the item using some magnification.

You’re kind of wrong. Looks don’t mean anything. Fool’s gold may LOOK like real gold, but that doesn’t mean real gold is overpriced. If you actually don’t think a real Rolex is much better than a fake you really don’t deserve a real Rolex. Fakes have no heritage, and are mass produced. It not only takes one year to make a Rolex, but also, they are always flawless.

That's much more of an accomplishment in my eyes than burning money for abstract ideas like heritage and beauty.

Plus, it’s not being able to “comfortably buy an $18000 watch” (even though 18000 is 3x the price of an actual Rolex), it’s something that most people have to save up for if the art of watches is something they generally appreciate. The question to ask is if the Chinese can get so close to the real thing for peanuts in comparison (the $600 watch) that it takes an expert to tell the difference, how have they managed to do that?? They managed to do perfect replicas cuz they have technology many years ago the main problem is capital cuz you have to invest in real watch to disassembly it and 3d scan and also market and customers are required. Honestly you can contact any watchmaking factory in China and they are welcome to copy any watch if you order big qtty. of course you get what you paid for no miracles 50 USD require cutting corners 100 USD require still a little sloppy job 300+ USD is correct amount to get AAA grade replica. And about crime and kids assembling this watches is total BS, my watch seller in China actually his family have watch factory you can buy rolex bezels here, bracelet there and manufacture few parts by yourself and assembly is simple actually sellers in China are very confident of mechanism quality and currently you can get 2years warranty from sellers in China, my Daytona perfect replica was even checked to have +-1s per day. Back to questions yes the real thing is massively over priced and now thanks to Rolex games and lack of supply replica sellers have golden age which solve the main problem of Chinese factories - capital. Imagine now with proper money flow they have money to buy more models and invest in next replicas, improve cloned movement and fix small mistakes. Rolex do not understand the rules of today game, time of funny comic replicas with quartz movement is over, now they have to face replicas in the level not seen before.

These videos just encourage everyone to buy knock off. Should of just stop with the low end to show it is really bad but when using the one that looks like the real thing just encourage everyone to look for the knock off one

I remember back in 1986 when i bought my Submariner date for £780. " LOL!" It was so cool! everywhere i went people would make comments about it. You have to realize that fakes back then were so bad and only had quartz movements. So a real Rolex stood out like a "Sunflower in a Poppy field!" The crazy thing is that i know that if i went into a shop today and spent £10,000 on a new Rolex Sub, everywhere that i wear it, most people would think that it was a fake.

Yes, quartz movements that were and still are far more accurate than the very best mechanical ones, which are not even made by Rolex. The most accurate watch l have is a $20 Casio diver "style" which has gained 2 seconds since November 5th of last year, confirmed by the WWV app and WWV itself. For those of us interested in the history of accurate, mechanical time pieces, the most fascinating and valuable ones ever made are in a museum, where they belong, the Harrison Clocks. Those are legitimate masterpieces. Every other mechanical watch is basically (maybe, an improved) copy of the original.

By eyes fake can fool. However just put the fake into water afew hours and the fake will be spotted easily. And this is the easiest way to spot a fake......they have close to no water resistance (at the moment, they can improve....).

You have little or no first hand experience of replica watches yet you post comments like you are some kind of expert, arrogantly telling people to “save up”! I have 10 replicas, the originals of which would probably run to over £150k which are accurate to between 1-6 seconds a day! None of them are the so called Super Clones and all of them cost between £50-100 each. Some of them I’ve had for a couple of years, all of them get worn and I’ve not yet had a failure, and none of them have cost me £400 to service! If I did, I would just buy a replacement for a quarter to an eighth of the service cost! Makes great economic sense to me!

I've seen the movement on quite a few 4130 and 3135 high-end knockoffs. Whats scary about the example you show (at 6 minutes) is its free sprung with a correct balance bridge. I've never seen this in a knockoff before.

You pay for history, craftsmanship, attention to detail, brand, marketing, status, quality and your proudness of owning a piece of a well-built historic piece in your catalogue that'll last you a few lifetimes. If what you want is a watch then you can't justify owning something more than a Seiko.

Even the originals : How do they justify the difference between a SS and a solid gold one ? The difference should be apx 3000 - the price of the gold - and not 10000 +. Ignoring the fact , that gold is way easyer to cut than 316 L stainless steel or whatever SS they prefer to use...

Alasdair King I have a Deepsea deep blue, a Hulk and Datejust, as well as Panerai, Omega, AP and Patek Philippe! All replicas but I love wearing them all! The reality is I could probably afford one or maybe two genuine models but would struggle to justify it! This way I get to wear for all intents and purposes all of them!

I own 2 Rolex's and have seen my fair share of "super-reps." I spend $250/watch to have them serviced every three or 4 years when they start running a bit wonky. Seems to me this video only reinforces the argument that Rolex's are horrifically overpriced in many cases considering you can have a high end fake that requires an expert to detect for only 1/10 the cost of a used Submariner. That's why I prefer Breitling and Omega these days.

All other watch channels: Lets show the differences with a macro lens. Bob's watches: Nope

I'm not quite sure how to tell gold-plated from solid gold, especially if the gold plating hasn't worn off yet, like on a newer fake. Also, is it really that much more expensive to put a 2.5x cyclops lens on a fake than a lesser magnification lens?

They aren't kidding when they're calling this a super fake. Would've been nice to see the details a bit closer, because at this zoom level, even the fake movement looked pretty convincing. Last week I watched another video on this stuff by a UK watchmaker, and the counterfeit movement he showed wasn't nearly as perfect looking as this one (cruder engravings and decorations for one thing). But this one ...? Wow.

Now that you've pointed out the differences, the counterfeiters are gonna fix that so the next time a new high end replica gets released, it will be much better

@@ZnenTitan No, American and European companies spend billions researching an developing the products, inventing new technologies and marketing them to the customer. Then China just rips them off. Everyone knows that the hardest part with clothing, for example, is coming up with a great design, producing is easy. The pay of the designers is included with the price. If you're buying fakes you're basically scamming the designers of their pay. And let's not even think of the great engineers that conceive those spectacular watch mechanisms.

My dad has owned a Submarine for years, when I showed him a superfake he could not tell the difference and thought I blew 10k on a watch. It's look and feel exactly the same. I didn't even pay 500 for the watch, I bought it off my mate for 350. The rep maker probably spent less than 400 on the production of the superfakes. Imagine if they spend more and sell those watch for 1 grand. They could sell those fakes to Rolex themselves. The only reason that stop them from doing this is their target market and positioning.

Some of the newer super fakes are beginning to creep up towards the $800 price mark. There’s a factory now that’s making very good Rolex clones in actual 904L steel. The real reason, though, that a stock replica will never be perfect 1:1 has little to do with cost or craftsmanship. (Shit, just look at macros of the Ginault that costs roughly $600 to produce.) The replica factories, just like Rolex, are greedy! They intentionally release products with flaws so they can keep on updating them and selling more with each model. This never-ending cycle has spawned a replica market within the replica market, where individuals use replica cases as a base and add real parts to them. There’s a lot more people than you would think who spend thousands assembling “superfrankens” that would fool professional jewelers...at least with the caseback on. I don’t own any reps, but I do find the “seedier” side of the watch industry fascinating. There’s a lot more depth and nuance in replicas (and many of their buyers) than most people assume.

It should. Micro printers, micro CAD machines are getting cheaper and cheaper to own. Today is super fakes, tomorrow will be super duper fakes. Kinda sad when unsuspecting buyers get the bad news when they send in their watch for servicing.

Both movements are genuine on the high end fake Submariner and the real one in this video. The cloned movements have a different balance bridge. The blue spring may have been replaced with a generic to explain the different shade of blue. The fakes can now fit genuine movements making them even more difficult to distinguish as counterfeits. I have seen many replicas with real parts installed making them nearly impossible for even an expert to tell them apart.

The fake high-end replica has a genuine movement in it. So you are basically talking out of your arse when you say “the blue is slightly different” . If so just a production variance. This type of replica is called a Frankenstein. Gen and rep parts are mixed. Some other parts are indeed fake.

There are 2 Chinese versions of the 3135 (clone movement) and they are indeed almost identical to the real deal but they do not have a free sprung balance as it is too difficult to regulate for the Chine rep factories. Both movements you show have a free sprung balance.

Where can I order that exact super replica? What website? I want to see one of these things. I stayed on 3 waiting lists at local jewelry stores for a new green sub for a year and still haven't had a call. They pinch the supply to maintain exclusivity. I just bought a v12 noob date just. Took it to my Dads house. He has areal one. We could not see any outright differences. My Dad couldn’t believe it.

Was thinking....both mass produced. The real thing can’t be purchased due to long waitinglists. Fakes ones you can buy by the dozen 😂

Is the really good copy one of those brands called Noob?

I saw a company that makes it in Switzerland. They have the same quality control and materials. Each peice cost around $1600 usd and it takes about 2 to 3 months to get it.

That's Bluefakes and they lie, no reps are made in Switzerland, do you REALLY think the Swiss would allow that to happen? Bluefakes (or whatever they call themselves now) are scammers who see Clean Factory reps that you can but for $350 everywhere else for $1500. Do you really believe everything you see on a webpage? If so, I have a bridge to sell you.

The 500$ replica shown in the video is actually the real deal, or at least the movement is. There is no such thing as a clone movement with an free sprung escapement.

What gets me is if the fakes are that good now, why don’t they just develop their own brand? And if they are SO CLOSE nowadays doesn’t it just show how Rolex are bending you over and shafting you. $500 vs $5000+. It’s just one reason I won’t buy a Rolex. But the sheep love them and Rolex will carry on screwing them for as much as they can.

Close indeed, but it still isn't a Rolex. Yes, the sheep will flock to Rolex but they obviously see value in the brand and willingly invest in their products. I admit, I am one of those sheep and I am proud.

War Gasam could you explain please? If these fakes are really close, why would they be fit for the bin in 2 years? If the movement was properly lubricated and the watch is made of stainless, why should it last any less time than say a Longine or Oris? These can and do last as long as (or longer than) a Rolex. If the fakers are building something “that close” why would it necessarily fail? Okay, there’s no customer support network or spares available but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to fall to bits does it? Of course I’m talking about these high end fakes not the usual junk watches. I’m just playing devils advocate here. I don’t agree with or support fake watches but I do think with a little lateral thinking these watchmakers could actually make a half decent product of their own and probably make more money in the long run.

War Gasam There is no reason why these would fall apart any sooner than any other watch with a mechanical movement! A lot of them are fitted with the Chinese Seagull movement that is an exact copy of an eta movement, made on the same machinery purchased from Switzerland! They won’t, but if they do fail they can be replaced for less than the cost of a service on a genuine model!

If you (and almost anybody) could tell difference - what is difference for end user?

My uncle had some fake watches from the 90s. The funniest one I saw was his fake black dial cellini. On the watch they spelled "Geneve" as "Genexe" and the back was a pop off back only about 1/3 the size of the case. Also had a fake oysterquartz instead of saying "oysterquartz" at the top it just said "quartz" at the bottom. Also had "oysterdate" at the top instead and had the 1930s rolex design on the back. They sure have come a long way in these nice fake watches

For somebody that only sells genuine 100% authentic Rolexes you sure do have a lot of fake ones sitting around....

Question is where can I buy the super fake one?

well, it's called liberty. Which is part of Capitalism. They can charge whatever amount they want for their product. and you don't have to buy their product. They are not monopoly, so it's perfectly legal.

The details you pointed out were pretty much too small to see. You need to get close up on the print. Show the close up of the details you are talking about. One of the case backs seemed to have a different finish from the real thing. It seemed less polished. I wonder also if the spring bars are the same between the two. It would be funny if rolex is using the same spring bars are the fakes. For my 7k+ i would want those spring bars to be special too. We needed more close ups in this video. There are subtle details that even if you only carry one of those 2x pocket magnifyers, you can see to tell. You should check weights as well. The weights on fakes is often significantly off even on the good ones. They often dont use the same weight of rotor and that can make a difference when combined with some of the other inferior materials they use

In the "Super Fake" the movement is a genuine 3135 from rolex, it's some kind of franken for sure, Rep externals and gen movement, this doesn't make it a "500$" super fake, but a 2500-3500$ franken watch

I’ll never understand people willing to throw away thousands on what is not a genuine item at the end of the day. Why not buy a real watch for $3000 that will hold its value and even appreciate in the long run? Just because you want others to think you have a real Rolex on your wrist? It’s not a smart financial decision.

On this counterfeit there is and it's bearably visible with the naked eye. When seen through a loupe, the etching isn't as refined as the genuine Rolex.

Bob's Watches this video has been discussed at length amongst the replica experts on various fora, either the movement shot is of two genuine watches or the rep has a genuine movement. There is no rep movement with a free sprung balance, blue hair spring yes, and no rep movement will take a genuine Rolex balance, it’s been tried and didn’t work.

@@solo-xbt I know it's hard to believe, but it's 100% not a genuine movement by Rolex.

I was hesitant to purchase a duplicate watch, but SWISSAREX *search on instagram for swissarex* eased my concerns. The watch is of excellent quality and resembles a genuine timepiece.

Fun fact: direct case mounting creates drop impact shock an order of magnitude stronger than a plastic spacer

Some swiss replicas use ETA movements which are also used by Tudor (a sub company of Rolex), intresting indeed.

hmm... the first ones are junk but the last one - supposedly the "super fake" doesnt seem like a fake at all - its beat up in general but dial side up as far as I can see, has nice AR on the cyclops, nice bezel and dial, rounded markers at 6 &9, correct SEL gap as per the genuine. The 3135 movement is genuine, has a free sprung balance and is nicely finished as per genuine. Not sure if this is some kind of "franken" watch or something with lots of genuine parts which would make it far more expensive than $500. Beyond that, not quite sure what the point is here.

I have a rep, I don’t wear it, it was a gift. Anyway they usually cost $600 and over for the Swiss mvmt . The Asian mvmt is okay, I have that model, but if closely looked at you can tell the mvmt is off. All the others things he mentioned are only on the extremely cheap rep

Well, you should have pulled the camera closer because from the distance you have it it's impossible to see diff in details.

Look up RWG watch forum.

They even use eta movement with all the looks and engraving inside them. Can't tell the difference even when a certified rolex technician check inside. He had to disassemble the movement for him to know

Does the fake pay for advertising? Does the fake pay for factory’s and buildings in Switzerland? Does the fake pay good wages to hundreds of employees? You get the point. Rolex is a real business. The fake isn’t. Manufacturing and employees is extremely cheap in China. This is the same for Ray bans and more. Ray bans are prob made for .50 cents, but sold for hundreds, this is Becuase running a bussiness costs more then just pure product material costs Also I’m sure I’m forgetting TONS of expenses that Rolex have to pay. I mean think of the most basic shit. Think of food in the break room for Rolex employees. Almost every luxury good does this

Beck S. Well I’m sure they do...there is a huge demand for Rolex watches, people are buying them at those prices, why would they make them cheaper? So everyone could own one? Then they would lose part of being a Rolex. Sounds snobbish, but it’s true. Rich people don’t just buy Ferrari’s and lambos for a fast car. They want the prestige aswell. Same with Louie Vuitton. Everyone can buy a Michel kors bag so it’s not special. Only few can buy Louie. What’s your argument here? Like Rolex should be cheaper? Prices are based on demand. And the demand is high.

Lav Im not saying your point is incorrect as luxury items are luxury items. I was just trying say that as fakes only get better that some of the sales will be lost as there is diminishing return. Diminishing return in not the traditional economic sense but the buyers emotional return from purchasing a large ticket item.
