ℹ️ Additional information
I also show you how to "glue" together many pieces of video to create a single video that you can then slow down or speed up as one group. Sometimes you need to Speed Up video way past 400% - so I show you my method for achieving that.

This is great! Thank you so much for making this tutorial and also for taking so much care of the folks who had questions for you in the comment section. Super helpful and so easy to do after I watched your video!
This has just showed me how to sort out a horrible rapid pan and zoom I have in the middle of an otherwise good clip. I am watching this more than two and ahalf years after you made it and it is still an education! Someone on here described your voice as calm and helpful and I agree. A great teacher. Thank youI hope you realise this is making a difference.
Worked a treat, just what I needed to learn, as a maths teacher I can now speed up and slow down my videos so each pupil can have a different speed. thanks
Awesome! just what I needed. I've been watching a few of your videos and its nice to see many features that seem advanced are very easy to do. Good job on your videos.
Another very helpful vid mate, Thanks again.
Oh my gosh, this helped me so much. I learned exactly what I was looking for before a minute & 30 seconds into the video. This is awesome. Thank you so much.
I'm new to VMS HD and find your videos very helpful, thank you for your time, please keep publishing your tutorials. Thanks, Matt

Thank you very much for this video! very helpful!!!
Thankyou so much for this video, I never thought about Rendering the video, then compressing it further, I had been getting quite frustrated about not being able to produce my own Speed paints, and sending out my videos for my fiends to help me out. This has helped me greatly. XD ( And my friends sanity too ) lol
Thanks man, you just made my day :) I never thought this would be so easy :D Cheers, Gecko
Really clear explanation, very cool, thanks
Thank you so much just what i needed , your videos are awesome .

Thank you so much! A real big help for my HD studio 11!
You saved me once again. Thank you.
Really helped. Thanks man!
Just beginning to use Vegas Movie Studio Plat 11and your tutorials were very helpful. Please keep producing these how to vids. Rio
This has been the most helpful tutorial I've seen for Sony Movie Studio so far! One thing another youtuber said which helped me out hope it does for you too and thats when you in speed it up 400% or 4x and then 2x like in this video that is like speeding up the original video 8x not 6x like you might think. In summary multiply how fast you're speeding your video up if you want to achieve a specific playback rate. Woo convolutedness!
Really helpful! Happy new Studio HD Platinum 11 user here! :D
You're a tremendous help. Thank you !!!!

Awesome big thank to you subscribed !
thank you sir
I LOVE YOU, THANK YOU!
this helped me figure out how to get the speed of audio to match my video
youre awesome thank you
thank you SO much! I knew there had to be a way to change duration of all events/frames to stretch the length of the slideshow. Who wants to just guess before dragging media into timeline? Not me. I guess if you know how long you want it to be and then want to divide by still shots...no. I am SO happy!
Thank You !
Thanks a lot! =D
thank you very much! :)

I would have never figured that out... well not NEVER, but it would have taken a lot longer without your help.
I've been using SVMS for months now and you just thought me how to use the selection edit tool for splitted videos. Many thanks!

Your videos are so helpful! Could you explain how you animate the title text on this vid? I looked on your website & couldn't find anything.
Thanks
How would you go about making a countdown effect with this program?
Thanks a lot for tips. Quick question, I would like to add running timer in corner of video that would match project i.e. when it's speeded up the timer goes faster according to speed of the video. Is this possible?
Hi love your vids realy helpfull. How did you cut the video when you clicked it ?
Great one! I couldn't have thought about rendering first and then slowing once again myself! But what if I don't have an audio track for my clip, is their any way to see the percentage of the speed you've got in this tuto? I used the "active take information", but it doesn't seem to show the percentage unless you have an audio track grouped to your video clip...
Arigato gozaimasu! (Thank you!)
had the same problem thx for your comment :D
Hey there - thanks for the video - how can I speed up/slow down a portion and then return it to a normal rate smoothly?
@TemporalParadox1 hey awesome tutorial. What did you use to record your screen? Thanks.
Thanks again! I wanted to speed up a whole chopped up(edit) video.
okay! i'll watch it
Thank you

+Movie Studio Zen u stoopid
First time i cant hear the ctrl bottom down :D:D i spent ten minutes and looking this video again and heard the ctrl bottom and well done thank's :DD:D
@TemporalParadox1 No worries Dex, found it....finally I can put my brain at rest about 60fps smooth slow motion effects. You're a great teacher... please keep on teaching us, many thanks!
But how do you just play back the video in the editing window faster ? THanks
Cool :)
Hi, When you slow down a clip, does the sound slow down as well?
Cheers :)
Thanks for the vidoes! With GoPro cameras, you can now shoot upt to 240 FPS in WVGA...and up to 120 FPS at 720p. I haven't done this yet, but plan to. If a 120 FPS video is used (in Platinum 12)...and slowed to 25%...do you know if it will use every frame and play back at 30 FPS...or is it limited to using only 30 FPS of the source video...and just plays those back at 25%? Sorry if this does not make any sense.
Very Great video! It helped alot but i did everything you said witth the rendereing. and is seemed to just shorten the video not speed it up. Could you please help with this? If its helps, I am trying to do a time lapse of the sun.
Don't forget to hold the control key while you are dragging. I am so happy to find this out!
I just made my 1080p template @ 30fps. Thanks for your prompt response Dex!
What screen capture software do you use?
Thanks for the great video, Movie Studio Zen. I am noticing that when I render a sped-up video, no matter what the settings are, I am getting multiple frames overlapping. For example, a 400 percent sped-up video doesn't just drop 3 out of 4 frames. It superimposes 4 frames on top of each other. This produces a wonky effect. Any way to turn this off?
will this and split screen work in Movie Studio Platinum 12?
@TemporalParadox1 ok, but do you think that I could use the channel blend feature to get rid of the black background or should I just stick with chroma key?
thank you
