Finally I've found pepole I can relate to about talking to fast. I've always talked to fast and slurred my words I'm tired of hearing "what?" "Huh?" "Say it again?" . ITS SOOO embarrassing! What finally made me do something was today when I finally got up the courage to talk to my crush, it was so awkward so I just blurted out "I love elephants" he thought I said I am a elephant. It was cringy weird and embarrassing. Thanks for the tip Ill definatly use it tomorrow. Update: nothing ever happened with me and that boy he ended getting a girlfriend. But I'm starting to talk more clearly now and its definitely brought up my confidence. I'm happy I found pepole just like me. One huge tip I have is to not give a shit what other people think about you just go with it and whatever happens happens.

Hi. Let me share some technique for slower and confidently speaking . Imagine that you are explaining things in front of the kindergarten . So its nesessary to speak slower for the children and to try to sound more expresively and understandable . That also reduces the presere of the speraking in front of audience - those are just some kids , you know ;)

This is absolutely phenomenal! I do door knocking for living and sales for living going on 10+ years now. I am told constantly, "sloooow down, why do you talk so fast?" I then think to myself, "I guess I do, I didn't mean to." Then I become to aware and start to feel really bad about myself so much so I feel I have no control or technique, that I start just saying, "I guess this is my life now." My own relationships with friends, partners, and family have been disrupted or hurt because I become annoying with how fast and how much I have to say. This is starting to really teach me to slow down my thoughts and word count in my speech, that I think I will come off as a much more effective and clearer speaker. Thank you for the insight! 🙂

I alwasy heard complaints about how fast I talk, so finally I decided to start slowing down and after watching this video I measured my normal speed rate and I got 250 words per minute as my normal rate. I also type fast but not that fast so I'm going to try this excersie. My goal is to get an speach rate of 150 words per minute.
Patrick, just listening to your videos makes me feel more confident. I can't wait to make an appointment to see you.
Thanks, unfortunately I stammer mainly when I feel under pressure speaking foreign languages. I feel this technique may help to have better outcomes in job interviews and so on.
Great video! I agree with the video that slowing down speech could help outgrow stuttering. The positive effect is that speaking slower makes you feel more comfortable, whereas other people who speak slower have more time to double down on doubt to say a feared letter which means that 'confidence that you can move articulators during a speech block' helps in outgrowing stuttering
I read out a poem at typing speed and recorded it. Listening it back felt slower but much clearer than my normal speech. Thanks for the video.
Thanks man. I have been talking fast in Arabic for so long and have been finally getting the hang of talking slowly, but after learning and speaking in English the same problem occurred, and I noticed the same while learning French; like it's contagious or something, but this video have taught me a lot, so thank you man.

Speech speed is dependent on natural exhale rate. You speak faster,if you are excited. You can naturally decrease the exhale rate by special breathing exercise.

Thank you for this! I always felt like something was off when I was talking to people. They often had trouble understanding me or I would be frustrated in not being able to get a point across in a conversation. Someone would ask me a question and I would think "I just said the answer to that.. weren't you even listening??" but now I realize its not their fault. When you talk quickly you sacrifice clarity in your speech. Slowing down using this technique has helped a lot
