Pour ma part, je suis Québécoise et j'étais curieuse de voir ce que nous faisons en commun 😂 Nous ne parlons pas vraiment (du tout) avec la bouche en coeur. Nous ne disons pas « si », mais plutôt « oui-oui » ou « ouais-ouais ». Nous disons « ben » à la place de « bah ». Nous disons aussi beaucoup de « genreeeeee ». Et le « euh » est assez standard pour tous les francophones je crois. Fort instructif.

Also as a French-American, I relate a lot to French-Canadians though I would say you're very americanized and listening to the radio I heard a lot of faux anglicismes. There's also a ton of English terms that are not borrowed in teh french language: " putain mais c'etais trop awwwwkwaard quoi", chose qui ne se dit pas en français or the famous "comme" which is a direct translation of "like". In France you get a lot of shit for making "mistakes" like that without an accent.

En même temps quelle idée (Complétement stupide) de donner un genre à des objets?? Pourquoi on dirait "Une clé" au lieu de "un clé"?? Qu'y a-t-il de féminin dans cet objet?! C'est n'importe quoi... Ça complexifie inutilement la langue... Et je ne parle même pas des allemands qui ont le masculin, le féminin et le neutre (3 genres).

Même pour les français la langue est dure à apprendre. Je croise sur Internet des gens qui ne font même plus d'efforts, même chose dans mon lycée. Certains reprochent même à ceux qui écrivent correctement de bien écrire, ou crachent sur ceux qui choisissent d'écrire un message bien construit au lieu d'envoyer leurs idées en vrac, et en messages courts avec des mots inutilement abrégés.

On donne vraiment une mauvaise image de nous aux étrangers, et les fautes (de langue à l'oral ou d'orthographe à l'écrit) à répétition ne les aident pas non plus à s'améliorer ou considérer ce qui est correct, comme pour le cas du "hein" cité dans la vidéo.

If you want to speak French, keep in mind that what he teaches you in this video are familiar speaking habits, don't use them if you need to be very polite (especially the "Hein"). But as a French I have to say, this video was very funny, and very accurate !

It's interesting that English does not have the equivalent of "si", I never really thought about that before. We have that in Swedish too with "ja" (yes) and "jo" (yes to a negative question). Very simple!

Romane Par exemple moi je regarde parce que je pense que le francais est une langue sans accent vraiment marqué, tel l espagnol ou l italien par exemple. Du coup le titre m a donné envie de voir ce qu on en dit et j ai bien ri... Je me trompe surement pour l accent mais j aime bien écouter les anglophones parler français en se torturant les levres pour éviter les tonics propres à l anglais...

Même en tant que Français je trouve cette vidéo intéressante car c'est des choses qu'on a acquise inconsciemment, et prendre conscience de ces différences ça peut aider à améliorer son accents en anglais je pense.

J'ai aussi eu un doute au début de la vidéo. Tu parles très bien le français mais ce qui m'impression encore davantage c'est l'observation que tu as pu faire de tous ces petits détails dans la langue: oui/si, euuh, genre, ... Bravo ! Ayant déménagé aux Etat-Unis il y a maintenant 3 mois, j'essaie de faire pareil pour améliorer mon anglais :)

This is an very interesting and nice video, even though I already know almost everything. I am from Germany and learning english and french in school and i am going to do an french exchange for one week this year❤

hey, you're really good. I've been learning French for ages...I've taught English for years, and also learnt Chinese...and you really manage to hit all the high points--all the important things--I've learned about language. Bravo. These are such great videos for someone at a more advanced level looking to sound less anglophone in French.

also one tip I have (thanks to hearing a lot of anglophones speaking French around where I live) is please join your words together. Take the consonant sound at the end of one word, and join it with the vowel sound at the beginning of a new word. If you keep the sounds of every syllable separate and distinct, it sounds very awkward in French. It's better to slur them together.

This 👏could👏not👏 have 👏come 👏at👏 a 👏better👏 time. I listened to an audio clip of myself speaking French and realized that I sound like I'm choking on my own throat.

I have a friend who is from france and when he speaks french his voice sounds so deep but when he speaks English its like a completely different voice 😂

I’m french and that‘s because in French the tone is almost the same all the time. Like in English you change and it’s more « lively ». So if you want to speak french you have to talk in a real monotonous tone

To summarize french language : " donc" "En fait" "Genre" "Bon" "Du coup " "Bah" "Hein" and "Hein !?" "Ouais" "On" "Putain" -> "Ptiiiin" "Et merde !" "Enfin " -> " 'fin " "Bref" " Voilà " and " voilà quoi" "Wesh" " Yes " and " what ? " with french accent If you can use all that when you speak, you can speak french like french people. C'est évidemment de l'humour et évidemment j'ai du en oublier mais c'est, en gros,ceux que j'utilise le plus.
