YES - these tips transfer over to any language, even our first language!
The best way to remember words is context. I ❤dictionaries with added contexts in the definition of each word. When you don’t remember a word, go around it with context as Christian mentions. I do it often even in my native tongue. Don’t be ashamed of not knowing or remembering, it happens to all of us even native speakers.
YOU'RE A MASTER IN TEACHING ENGLISH. CONGRATULATIONS. YOU DESSERVES A OSCAR STATUE
I really appreciate the whole video, but at 10:15 there is a powerful flash: "Remember: real communication happens in context, not in textbooks" Thank you very much!
Every time my eldest daughter loses motivation at school (linguistic highschool!) I remind her that "school" and "learning" aren"t sinonyms and I tell her "Don't forget Christian's story and exemple!". Thank you teacher!

Christian você é muito bom cara, eu tenho orgulho de ser inscrito no seu canal, você está cada dia melhor (portuguese brazil)
The best youtube lesson I have ever had!
Congratulations! Few teachers pay attention to speak clearly, calmly and with passion. Your teachings are remarkable.
I used to work on a Criuse Ship and all those things are true!! Gestures, face expressions, tone of you voice... all that stuff comunicates sometimes more than words! My turn around word would be something like this: Market - that place to buy and sell things Bone - the structure of you body… like… your teeth is a(…) Afraid - insecure, with fear Snow - that white flake Farm - big green place with animals Mountain - big huge rock Gold - yellow metal rich people can afford Coat - jacket for cold days Heavy - hard to lift
You are the philosopher of English language teaching. Thank you
Market = a place to buy things or stuff, bone = a hard stick or thing in your body / leg / arm, afraid = fear, i don't like, i feel unhappy etc, share= give smth, snow = white stuff falling from the sky, farm = a place where animals, pigs and cows live, mountain= a high place, piece of ground, gold = metal of my ring, coat = jacket, warm clothes for outside, heavy= not light, difficult to move, to lift. It seems I use this tricks all the time. Thank you ❤
Thanks to your Short stories, I built my confidence, and then my English is getting better and better... Have a great life
The best channel and the best content I've come across this year !
This is one of the most spectacular videos I found on how to communicate in English. Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing such knowledge with us!
I'm 45 years old and I have trouble remembering words in English. This technique helps me improve so I can lose my fear of speaking this beautiful language. Thank you very much" You are great!!!
You have no idea how much I loved this video! Thank you so so so much!!
Thank you for your work teaching English. I've always understood your speech perfectly. I really like the contexts you create and especially when you bring in articles to explain certain concepts. Congratulations on your commitment.

Christian, Your method, ideas, strategies are super great. A real motivation appears in all conditions of learning. Thank You.
Thank you so much!!! That was one of the extremely needing for me video ! Thank you million time!
I love the way you explain and encourage us to use different tricks for easy communication! I thought to say "shop for bread" will definitely make me look like a total beginner in English. But you persuaded me that it is better to describe something in simple words than stuck and mumble something while trying to find a right word) I will be mad at myself anyway that I forgot the word, but I will be glad that the person understood me!
Like all your videos, this is another excellent example that with the correct mindset, anybody can be fluent in the language, and when I said fluent, I mean have the opportunity to communicate. Thanks a lot, Christian.
Hi Christian, it's the second of your videos I've been watching and I am really fascinated by the way you teach!
You are truly creative in making the English language very easy. You have wonderful ideas and your way of thinking is completely different from traditional methods. There is no teacher like you who has different ideas. Thank you and continue, creative person.

Wonderful tutorial! I love the strategy number four. It works like a magical lamp to complete the sentence automatically. I'm super duper happy to find a teacher like you.
Communication.... gold word ... THANK FOR THIS :)
Thank you! this is a great video
I wanted to know english but gave up in search some good channel. This chanel is gold.
Thank you very much for your work
Great advice for everyone! Even as native speakers my family and I often find ourselves unable to find the 'right word'. Rather than using brain cells to stare at the ceiling and say 'um', I try to immediately circle around the unknown word on known paths. I may not know a person's name, but I might well remember where I know them from, what they do for a living, hair color, etc. Even if a particular word seems necessary to communicate what's on your mind, it often isn't.
Unlike other teachers, you touch on topics that really matter.
In short, awesome strategies. Thanks so much!!!
Just fabulous...refers to both the the topic and the way it's been explained.
This is the best english learning channel ever. I love how easy is to understand Christian's speaking. And his lessos makes me improve a lot.
thank you Canguro it is very helpfull to comunicate confidently
Thank you very much. It was very encouraging!!!
Great podcast ! Thank You😊
Market = The place you can buy stuff Bone = Breakable white thing in our bodies Afraid = Don't know what to do Share = Giving without expecting anything in exchange Snow = Rain but icy Farm = The place where crops thrive Mountain = The biggest rock you can imagine on the earth Gold = Yellow pericous metal Coat = The thing you wear when it's cold Heavy = A lot of kilograms

I would argue that "afraid" doesn't mean "Don't know what to do". This is too far-fetched. Intimidated, scared, "shit a brick" or something along these lines could serve as a replacement.
@deedeeen

I would argue that your examples wouldn't be easily recalled either. It's more like "cannot do what you want to do".
@cillboon

@@matrizaevIt is clear you have a high level of English. Someone at a lower level will use words that make sense to them, in the moment. Suggestions like scared are more helpful than 5 syllable words like intimidated or idioms which do not sound nice. Put yourself in a beginners shoes. Keep it simple.

@@deedeeenQuestion. If I cannot do what I want to do, am I afraid? If I cannot go to the cinema, am I afraid? I'm not sure.
@deedeeen

@@cillboon I forgot to add that "afraid" should also imply some degree of existing ability; that being, it's likely that one could do it, but because of them being afraid, they refused.
Your way of teaching is the best! Thank you
Awesome teacher!
Forgetting the words - this is my main problem but now, I hope, it won't be. Very simple but very useful lesson. Thank you very much, Christian. Hello from Russia with love. 😊
I love your video. Thanks so much for appreciating our communication skills.
market - noun, a big place where you can buy things from different vendors, usually food bone - noun, white, hard part inside our body afraid - feeling when you are scared share - verb, when I have something and give part of it to someone snow - noun, frozen water falling from the sky farm - a place where animals live and food is produced mountain - a big big rock you can climb, e.g. Fuji or Everest gold - it is yellow and not silver coat - a warm long jacket heavy - not light it was fun exercise, thank you :D
Your non verbal communication is amzng! Love it. The topic, more than appropriate. Tah Master
