    Don't know how much it helps but I also add a dash of vinegar to the brine. I guess it makes the seeds even more digestible.

    White or ACV? Also, what temp would you recommend for the dehydration process in the absence of specials oven like the one show in the clip?

    @@Gary-jh3wd ACV typically because it's usually cleaner well as having more nutrients. 125°F or so is good.

    I soak my sesame seeds and mill my pumpkin and sunflower seeds for my dog. I'm going to add some salt to the mix too, rather than when I dish it out to them.

    I dont have the means to dehydrate at the moment. Is it still helpful to soak seeds before eating them?

  • @TheHealthyHomeEconomist

    @TheHealthyHomeEconomist

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes if you can consume them right away and it's OK that they are moist for whatever you're using them for. Dehydrating them helps make sure they don't mold.

    @@TheHealthyHomeEconomistHi, thank you. I put them in the fridge and ate them over a couple of days. Still looking at how best to dehydrate them at this time. I wondered if drying them had an effect on the seeds in terms of absorbing nutrients and benefits.

    is it okay if i soak pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds at the same time ?

  • @1peeptom

    @1peeptom

    Жыл бұрын

    Nope. Don't combine chia or flax seeds with any other seeds. Cos, both chia n flax create a gelatinous formation once soaked. Besides, each of these r most bio available when consumed in their unique way- Chia seeds r to b consumed in d gel form. Flax seeds r best absorbed when dry roasted n then powdered. OR, when even better, when sprouted. Whereas pumpkin & sunflower seeds r best absorbed when soaked n eaten.

    Soaking then drying makes more nutrients available. Roasting takes the temperature too high for some of the nutrients to survive.
