I appreciate the chemistry between these two. Awesome vibes. Almost doesn't feel like a skipping tutorial. More like a couple of guys fishing and talking about skipping jigs.
ANDY IS A VERY FUNNY GUY. I WOULDLIKE TO SEE MORE OF YOU 2 TOGETHER!
Great instruction! I like how a pro can take advice and constructive criticism from a fellow pro.

edwin is genuinely the humblest and happiest youtuber out there. aside from being a top pro angler, it's simply a pleasure watching and learning from #ProjectE ~ #fishingTips #awesomeSauce

It truly doesn't get ANY better than this! E2 sharing the boat with Andy and opening up the real Pandora's box on jig skipping. I watched SO many videos and still struggle to skip. Watched that one and straight up understood what I was doing wrong and what I need to do to solve my issues. Thanks a bunch!

The innuendoes keep this even more amusing
Andrew likes to get on himself when he’s fishing. I love that Andrew, funny guy.
So true about it being a rewarding and fun technique even if you don't get a bite. Just like skipping rocks except you're probably gonna have a much larger payoff!
Great video! I'm just beginning to learn skipping and suck! In fact I had gotten so burned out about two years ago I couldn't even make myself try fishing for bass. On 4/10/24 I forced myself to try again throwing a Gary Yamamoto Senko 5" worm at the bank around overhangs and lay downs. I was so discouraged I almost quit in the first five minutes. But, suddenly I felt a bump on a cast. Like a pup hearing a strange noise my heart felt a little excited. I kept trying for a few minutes and hooked a decent bass. I didn't get it in the boat but it did heighten my hopes. Over the next hour I did catch two more 12-14" fish. But, my casting sucked! I couldn't get my baits where I thought was best and definitely not under the overhangs or in tight spots. After watching your video, I'm going to try to improve my skipping skills in hopes of at least gaining more confidence. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts!
This is incredible information!! Two legends talking fishing.
Thank you for the video demonstrating your abilities and Andy's expertise in skipping lures. Thank you for showing humility and God will bless you for it as this video has blessed me. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the two of you. May God bless and keep you safe during your travels and time on the water.

Awesome tips from two of my favorite anglers! Thank you for the lesson.
Seen many skipping videos and this is the first that discusses where the bait should first impact the water. Thank you.
I love how thorough Edwin was in his questioning. Very informative and educational. Thanks e.
Watching your channel has become a gold mine of information. I really enjoy how you keep topics coming which I know personally have helped me improve. Thanks for everything you do.
Heck yes!!!Just solve my problems with the length of rods! I’m 5’8” an been using 7’6” rods for all slow moving baits. It’s been hard to be precise at times.I just pause vid an went fishing. The change was AMAZING GUYS!!!!👍🏼👍🏼I used my 6’10 an spot on buddy!!!
Thanks very much for the instructional, been working on learning to skip and this should help alot, thank you both for your time
VERY informative video for me! Thanks for getting Andy to share and both of you taking the time to convey it to us.
Your videos are awesome and I know like many others taking your advice along with other pros is super cool! Thanks for the content and keep it up,
Spent a day with Allen Head skipping 3/8-1/2 old school jigs 50 -60 ft under docks at Grand Oklahoma 1998 Red Man did not have to adjust his line one time all day. Was amazing
Awesome videography right there! Props to the team behind every one of these more than well made episodes! So informative and enjoyable to watch, Edwin has a great sense of repartee too. Keep 'em comin' good has this and you'll stay atop of ours hearts. See you in Québec someday eh?

Excellent video Edwin. Learned a lot about skipping jigs!
Thank you for the awesome information. Best I’ve ever heard it explained.
Great instruction by Andy. Learned more in this video than most others.
Your videos are nothing but an educational experience. Thank you Ed for all of them. Back in the nineties I was fishing the Top 150’s and the Red Man trails. I sincerely wish I had the opportunity to fish with you. Oh well, maybe one day. Have a great day brother.
Wonderful information from 2 great fishermen!!! Thank You
Two of my favorite anglers. And great info. Andy is the "Skipping King"
Awesome video. I would loved to have had some details on the reel setups as well. Great content
Those are some great tips . The best thing about skipping a jig is getting your bait where others can't which = more bites . 🎣
Great stuff thank you both nice to see two christian brothers helping one another God bless
That was probably the best videos I’ve seen on jig fishing I’m a big jig fisherman my top four guys I watch Andy Montgomery being #1 then the Gman 2 Greg Hackney then none other but Denny can’t spell his last name but that video showed me so much more my hats off to you thanks
Great info. Andy is so funny and a real nice and down to earth. Next to u he’s the one I pull for during the tournaments. Thank Edwin for taking the time in ur very busy life to teach us the tricks.
That was fantastic. Love your vids Edwin. I'm taking Andys tips to the water tonight. Practice practice practice 👍🏼
Hey Edwin this is Chico from Texas I just finished watching your project eshow for this week with Andy on the skipping jig I met you and Andy at the Bass Pro Shop this year at the Bassmaster Classic Paul Elias with splitting the two of you guys up but I ended up getting all three of you guys autograph I appreciate your great keep the great work
Great video with spot on info. Tried the technique and it works very well with a little practice.
This video is awesome. 2 of my favorite bass fisherman using my favorite lure and teaching me how to skip it. Love it
That was a awesome video with Andy Montgomery. Your videos are always informative and helpful thank you and keep up the good work. Please break down lake marion around Jack's Creek thank you
Excellent video. AM's skipping ability is amazing.
Two legends , awesome video, thank you
You know one of my favorite things about you Edwin is the respect and how high praise you give all of your guests. You’re a living legend and one of the greats but always give such high praise to your competitors. Can you do a where to start on Lake Winnipasaukee. It’s a great place to fish with LMB smallies spots trout and salmon. I think it’s 75k acres. Ever fished it?
I like this idea Edwin. Next up Mark Rose ledge fishing. Whatcha think? I just like the idea of two professionals exchanging ideas.
Wow!! Those are some great tips Andy and Edwin. I agree from my own personal experience that 1/2 oz jig works best and trailers that don’t flap too much. Love these videos Edwin. Also agree that too close makes it much more difficult to skip
*Maybe if someone is going through the frustrations I went through, my experience will help.* A million skipping videos, and VERY few of them are this good. For those still struggling with this technique, it makes one of the most important statements in learning how to skip a bait (along with jig weight/preparation/rigging).. *"Release the bait as close to the water, as humanly possible, and let it travel parallel to your target".* The only other piece of info I'd add is making sure your reel isn't too full. In my case, it didn't REALLY start to click until *AT LEAST 1/8th"* of space was left on my spool. I have a specific setup set aside for this, because I like spooling my reels almost entirely full. And, to this day I can't get that to work for skipping. *But, something that made a dramatic difference was practicing "hover" casting. That, in and of itself, will get you 90% of the way there....at least it did in my case.* In my case, I tried learning it backwards, and it was not only pointless, but excruciatingly frustrating. All I did was wind up with HUGE backlashes almost EVERY cast (literally), because I was letting the bait hit the water WAY too soon, and casting WAY too hard, simply to try and get the bait to skip at ALL. I was thinking if I could get the bait to skip, I could perfect it the distance/accuracy after the fact. *BIIIIG MISTAKE....and I completely missed the entire point of the technique.* I got so frustrated, and discouraged that I just decided to try and perfect the "hover" casting part of this technique, to the point to where I could do it second nature, and could get the bait to hover the surface, and enter the water 50'-70' away, without barley making a ripple. I figured if I could just get consistently get the bait to hover 1-2" above the water, I'd accomplish the same goal, even if the bait didn't skip. *That eventually turned into skipping by accident, just trying to get the bait to hover as close to the surface of the water, as possible, without anywhere NEAR the frustrations/backlashes. Worst case scenario is that my bait was 12" above the water (instead of 2") and made a little bigger splash at my target.* I wish someone had taught it to me that way back when I was trying to learn this technique. Just giving my respectful two-cents, given had I approached this technique a little differently, with a couple key pieces of info, almost all of which are in this video, I would have learned this 100x's faster. *A big thank you to Edwin for sharing a great resource/friend with us. This was excellent.👍
Great info Edwin and Andy!! Edwin, I love ALL of your content...very informative and entertaining! This happens to be one of the techniques that I have forced myself to learn this year and two additional helpful tips are 1) before you start skipping, cast your lure out really far and as you reel it in, put your rod tip in the water so the line and your thumb and fingers get wet...2) raise your rod tip as your bait starts to skip. For whatever reason, both of these tips, along with pretty much everything Andy said, have helped me learn to skip a jig. Now, any tips on skipping a hollow body frog??
Thanks again for the information, Andy is a class act
Great information. Just getting into more fishing with a jig and learning to skip just adds to the fun. Awesome video and as always thanks for you and Andy sharing your knowledge! Would have been cool if you caught one on video.
Great video great instructions on skipping
Love Andy. Seems like a great guy and is funny too. He fished a Barbie rod with Scott Martin a few years back. Hilarious
