It’s interesting that you allowed your airbrush to be seen on camera. That rapid press and release method is one I’ve not seen before.

This was realy nice and clear, thank you. Layering is still tricky for me, mostly because I am not paying enough attention to the paint/medium ratio. I wil get there, live and learn ;) Happy hollidays!

Ratio is not oo important bro, but too much medium is too yransparent though and will waste your time. Just add a few for faster coverage. Cheers! ☺️🎨🎨🎨

Hey man, just discovered your channel and love your videos. You do a great job explaining the different techniques and your vallejo recipes have been super helpful for new hobby painters like me. Just a quick question, I noticed you have these small rotating paint racks that could hold up to four-five paints. I would love these since they could help me organize my palettes, but I can't find them anywhere. Would you happen to remember where you got them? Thanks again for the awesome videos and tutorials!

Looks great bud :-) I really like other mediums as well such as oil paints and will be using some inks now as well. Just got some artist inks yesterday :-)

Fantastic tutorial! Essentially, you created your own Contrast paint or Speedpaint just by adding mediums.

i like this one 😂 not too clean 😜 not too dirty 👌 these neutral colors work well in at cemetary scenery. glazing can make details too blurry and wash out colors in a way i dont like. i call this smoosh painting, bit like making smashed potatoes. this all looks gray to me... i like extra crispy details and bright colors, but thats just me so...

Agree, just glazing will make the model look blurry. The extra highlights not shown in this video made the model pop and crisper. 😜🎨🎨🎨

I am curious about your airbrush trigger control. It looks like you sort of yab down and back and then just release it without first moving the trigger forward. Is that how you do it?

Oh no, hmmm... I like flipping the trigger a lot during painting, since it does not lul my paints to clog the needle. Flipping actively makes the airbrush mechanisms and the paints so active during painting. This is tricky to do, IF the thinning is not right or the pressure is too much. ☺️🎨🎨🎨

Thx for the video ! Would contrast paints just replace all the parts where you made and used your glaze inks? I’m looking forward to experimenting!

Really nice, the layered technique with the glaze is really interesting. But why the purple and blue on the graves ? Does it enhance the tone once dry ? 😊

I do not watch painting videos usually bro. I watch Sergio, Duke and Thirty Five old brush. Really good painters. But other than those guys... I watch basketball and dinosaurs here. 😅

Great video as always Don! ;-) What would you think of using inks with airbrush ? thin layers ... very diluted ... could it work in your opinion? As you probably could remember, I'm the scariest using inks since my last attempts... Lol

I've done it before... If you are just misting and you lower the pressure, it will work with the airbrush. DO NOT thin bro. 😅🎨🎨🎨

Yes, in my opinion. Since matte medium is thick, which will add body to your inks. 😊

Justa mixture of airbrush thinner and flow improver. ☺️

I don't think you mentioned it, but may have missed it. What was the lazy wash step? You darkened everything but didn't say how...

The lazy wash is filtering bro. I just used sepia and very thinned down violet ink and brushed all over the model. I did this to make the model a bit darker and also it blends everything together. The darker base was good or is always good once you paint more highlights, giving more contrast to the model. ☺️
