    You left out #5, which I call the Slim Pickins technique. You use a little touch of voice crack where you go to a higher frequency for a split second. I think Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks use it a little. And #6 Unecesary amounts of vibrato, which of course is how Toby Keith sings any time he holds a note longer than a split second.

    Me over here as a classical trained singer who can opera😂 trying to get the cry Patsy Cline got in her voice. I don't have high range anymore because of too much rural air exposure in a dusty as heck farming community, but a really good alto tone.

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    Жыл бұрын

    I can relate! I was pretty much exclusively trained in classical singing, until I finally started branching out into contemporary styles of music myself! With the right exercises and consistency, you should be able to build up that higher chest voice range within a few months! Then, you could use your strong alto range to really be a powerhouse! 💪

    I like to mimic the Keith Whitley / Randy Travis / Willie Nelson thing. I'm not sure what to call it or how to explain it. It's an old school country buzz, but not in a deep voice.

    Okay, but how do you know what note you want to sing to or are supposed to sing to? When I'm making my own and I would go high in pitch how do I know what I'm supposed to hit. I don't understand that

    Fair question! Learning how to tell the distance between notes (interval training) is a great way of teaching your ear and throat how to work together to sing the right note. Check out our video on this that shows you how to get started on learning how to hit the right pitches! kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpd3maSYiKbOlpc.html

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    1. Focus on improving your diction/pronunciation of your words to sound authentic and excellent for country style vocals 2. Listen to female country artists you aspire to be like, then imitate things they do (until you slowly develop your own preferences/styles that make you unique) 3. Make sure you pitch, nation, and rhythm are excellent! Without these as a foundation, any stylistic improvements you make to your voice won’t translate well to an audience!

    Oh so voice buzz is vocal fry! And you can use vocal fry throughout your range? This is new! I can only use it before my first break (around a G4)! Thanks for this

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    @tayloracademyofmusic8873

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes! Using voice buzz, specifically through your break, helps your vocal folds stay closed and connected so that you don’t accidentally break/flip when you don’t mean to! My suggestion would be to use a very low amount of volume, then slowly build up your stability of using voice buzz in the E4-B4 range. If done properly, you should be able to very lightly speak in that range using your relaxed chest voice without pushing or pulling. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 🙌
