    What if your an aspiring female country singer who's a northern UK girlie

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88732 ай бұрын

    1. Focus on improving your diction/pronunciation of your words to sound authentic and excellent for country style vocals 2. Listen to female country artists you aspire to be like, then imitate things they do (until you slowly develop your own preferences/styles that make you unique) 3. Make sure you pitch, nation, and rhythm are excellent! Without these as a foundation, any stylistic improvements you make to your voice won’t translate well to an audience!

    Great singing voice and impressive range, but that octave jump ending just doesn't fit the song at all. Sometimes less is more, and this is one of those occasions.

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88732 ай бұрын

    Makes sense to me! I definitely agree that if I were performing this live, I wouldn’t do the octave jump! However, because my main focus is teaching singers how to improve their voice, showing that I can use the technique I teach to extend my vocal range past the typical range of a song can be beneficial to include in my covers! Thanks so much for watching! 🙌

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88733 ай бұрын

    Yes! Falsetto doesn’t connect back to your chess voice, and is limited in the amount of tone/volume you can produce! Think of the sound that you would make when cheering “wooo”. That’s the sound that may help you find your head voice! Best of luck!

    I don’t get it how do you do this without going up in tone

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88735 ай бұрын

    The pitches you sing don’t need to be correlated with the amount of breathiness you have in your tone! Try saying “ha ha ha” on a note with breathy tone , then “ah ah ah” on that same note while making your tone clear and non breathy. That is the basic principle of compression and should allow you to freely manipulate your tone without affecting your pitch!

    Not a fan, the technique made your voice very flat which sounds not great, you do have a good voice but not a fan of the technique

  • @alyviabrannock8407
    @alyviabrannock84077 ай бұрын

    Then again I do like the less breathyness

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88737 ай бұрын

    Fair enough! Usually, when referring to someone’s voice, the term “flat” usually indicates that someone’s pitch is too low, which is not the case in this video! However, if you are just saying that the tone sounds flat, in regard to its texture, I suppose that’s a reason I could understand for not wanting to emulate the technique! However, the main point is to slowly steadily gain both strength and flexibility in the voice, and using a tone without breathiness allows for that steady growth! Thanks for watching! 🙌

    I recently asked my singing teacher about this. She said I shouldn't hold anything back, but I feel like when I do, I definitely have more control and I just like my sound a lot more. So...who's right!?:)

  • @tayloracademyofmusic8873
    @tayloracademyofmusic88737 ай бұрын

    I’m not suggesting that you should hold back from sounding your best; I’m saying that instead of focusing on the quantity of your voice (how loud you are), you should focus on the quality (your tone)! Using compression and aiming for a more intense/focused sound will help with both the power and control/sustainability in your singing!
