How To Sing Aerosmith With Distortion - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Музыка

In this video, we go Line-By-Line on how my student Joao gets to the vocal spaces, like distortion, required to sing this song by Steven Tyler and Aerosmith.
How To Sing Aerosmith With Distortion - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
I am continuing with my "Fireside chats" with my student Joao.
We wanted to discuss the previous song that we had done by Aerosmith called "I don't wanna miss a thing."
We are literally sitting around the "campfire" or should I say Studio, "Shooting the breeze" on what went into making this video.
Our goal is to make this informative and helpful for you on your journey for singing.
Please post your questions, thoughts and comments in the comment section, but don't forget that this didn't happen by chance. Joao has been doing my singing course for quite some time now and this is how he got there.

I just love this master ballad!!! Joao absolutely did an incredible job!!! Back to Steven: There is so many things going on in the original recording, that are impossible to ignore!!! First Think You would probably notice is his intention… Second: He has that incredible phrasing, pitch, and support Third: What an entertainer and artist he is!!! I just love the emotions he performed this one with… Fourth: His dictation is incredible, you understand every single word he sand out of that lyric!!! Thanks to the amazing Diane Warren, who wrote the song. She received so many awards for one of the best songwriters… She wrote for so many artists… Fifth: Vowels I love especially how bright and open his A’s and E’s are. There is also twang when he sings forever and ever, also mine… He adds that extra “h” consonant with some twang to it… He quiet dos it a lot on this one, and some folks might find it a little bit annoying at times… But I do believe the reason he does it, marking his correct pitch note for the next phrase which is the same note he ends up his phrase on… Thinking about the Armageddon Movie, which futures his incredible baby girl Liv, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Thornton… Another reason this was such an successful project and he couldn’t afford to mess up the track… But my favorite part of that song is when he Steven sings “Fall” it’s magic… Another one the way he treats don’t by adding ou which is how it is supposed to be pronounced English. Lots of singers miss the fact that in fact it is a double vowel O+U… In other foreign languages for example it would have been simply just O…. List could go on and on..

Joao seems to be a boatload of the combination of already having such a God given gift and the ability to learn so well. He has such an authentic, beautiful rock voice. He's able to do such unique things with his voice and you two as a working team could so bring this young man to stardom! I enjoyed listening to Joao every bit as much as I would Aerosmith. I thoroughly enjoyed this my friend. This Brazilian guy is amazing and I know you helped him get that way. Loved the back and forth between teacher and student. He’s not afraid at all and you’ve taught him how to be a great singer and he is. Wish I’d known you as a kid screwing around in bands. The timing of course doesn’t work since I’m a year older than you, but nobody of your voice teaching caliber existed in the 70’s and I’m thinking they still don’t exist. You’re the best my friend. Love this format you’ve chosen. Breaking down the complexities of the vocals while an actual student displays them. We, as the listener, feel like your student even though we can’t sometimes sing half as good. Or barely at all by comparison. It’s great to put your student up there and he’s incredible. Singing a line or phrase with no warm-up is unfair and it’s meant to be. His recording was flawless. Live on camera with no background to follow, okay a little flat, little sharp here and there, but holy crap I’d never be able to do as well as he did just off the cuff. Loved this new style on your channel. Teacher and student. Pointing out the details of everything involved. Great one, Ken. Peace and aloha to you my brother. 🤙🏼 Signed, a humble mediocre singer on barges.

Yeahhhhh. I'm an Aerosmith stan and this fantabulous vid for me is a breath of fresh air. Soo deliciously done. Gabriel and Ken are both total profs, absolutely sick singers. Listening to your sining is music to my ears. I was snug as a bug, intently listening to your explicit explanations. You're both indeed insanely talented. Due to you learning sining is tons of fun. Thanks a bunch for sharing. Keep up. You kick a lot of asses😍🔥🎸😆🤘🤘💞💞💖👍🏻👍🏻

I just wanted to say these videos are really interesting. I've always wanted to do voice acting, singing, etc and can do things with my voice on instinct and replicate things I hear. But, I've never disected it to really know how I do it, why I do it, what vowels I'm favoring, etc. Really interesting. FYI, I'm legally blind so I have reduced sight and live in a very sonic world. So, on another level, I really dig this. (I do see well enough to hold down a job, live my life, have a wife and kids, etc. Just am unlucky enough to have low enough vision to be labeled as such)

As a guitarist just learning to sing in 30s, I’ve been blown away by how far I’ve come from just methodically working at it just like I do guitar…. Gotta embrace the sound of your own voice tho!!

Probably not great technique but when I sing I sing it the way I would talk it but with a wider mouth opening it helps me stay relaxed and you obviously need more space as you go higher. I learnt a lot from watching Steven and Freddie

Hey bro. Thats exactly what i thought before i started to study Kens method. Took me about 6 years to get to where i am now. You can DEFINITELY increase your vocal range no matter who you are, unless obviously theres a physical condition thats limits you. Believe me bro. Im the living proof as i had no natural talent, range, techniques… nothing! you can build it from the ground with KTVA 🤟🏻
